If your father doesn't like it, then that's his problem to deal with.

Well, it didn't go well. He says he doesn't ever want to speak to me again. But I feel better because I was honest and I didn't deny Roger.

Hi, sorry it did not go well. It is painful when our parent makes life harder for us. You will not change his mind, he has pre-set, long held beliefs.... no matter how prejudice, unjust or uncompromising your father is.. the fact is he is still your father, and you can still love him. Be glad you were honest with him. Keep those lines of communication on your end open. Talk with Roger and come to a decision on how you both want to handle people like your dad. It is better to have a united front. Support one another...
