Wish me luck - I need a DVC room for 6/29 until 7/4

I just purchased non-refundable airline tickets for our family to spend a quick 5 days at WDW next week. We'll see what sort of magic Member Services can work for getting us a room on such short notice. So much for the 11 month window.

Since there are only 4 of us, I guess we can stay in any type of DVC room. And with less than a week's notice, I won't be too picky.

Hi Towncrier! We just did the same exact thing yesterday. We got flights late Thursday and called MS Fri AM for 6/25 - 7/2. Weekends were available at OKW and VWL. I didn't book as I wanted to check out offsite to avoid moving and using points only for the weekend. I called MS around 4pm and only weekends at VWL were available. I called CRO and plenty of rooms on site, even at AP savings! Booked AP rooms for 6/28 on at OKW and said I would worry about first three days on weekend. Well, for the heck of it I called MS at 5:20pm, they close at 5:30 and get Reno. She was great. I was not in the 5 days yet and she made sure I could cancel my cash AP ressie without penalty, she called OKW and I got 6 out of 7 nights in a one bedroom. I even have some hope that my one night might come through. I was so pleased I asked for Phil at MS who was Reno's supervisor to let him know how much we appreciate the CM's going through hoops for us to make trips like this possible with DVC. Amazing how the airlines put these cheap tickets out at the last minute with alot of advertising.
Towncrier, I hope you have as much luck as we had. It was so nice meeting you on the Magic in January...I will keep an eye out for you next week! It is possible!

Just got off the phone with Member Services an hour ago. And believe it or not, we were able to get a BCV studio for the nights of 7/1 and 7/2. I could have booked an OKW studio for the night of 7/3, but I'm going to take my chances and try to add one more day at BCV. Thanks to the folks on the Budget Board, I found an exceptional rate at the Dolphin for the nights of 6/29 and 6/30, so it looks like we are just about settled for accommodations for our last minute trip. I am totally impressed that MS could find us a studio with less than 7 days notice. Way to go DVC!!!

I'm glad you had such great service and were able to obtain rooms on such short notice. I can see myself deciding at the last minute to do exactly the same thing, so it's nice to know it CAN work out.

UPDATE!!!

I just got off the phone with DVC MS this morning and I was able to add the night of 7/3 to our existing BCV studio reservation. This is awesome news and it means that we won't have to do two resort swaps during our brief vacation.

I'll take notes about the opening. I wonder if we can checkin early on July 1st.
