Ok so haven’t been on a Disney cruise in a looooooong time.

1. When we went on our last cruise there were multiple things I liked in a menu one night. So the waiter said just get one of each. A you still do that? lol 1932 has some good food it seems.

2. Also. Stupid stupid question. Frozen menu looks ultra ultra Bla. Can I say “grab me the lamb from 1932 instead?” Lol

1932 I like all the apps and dinner menu items. Marvel and frozen is wicked Bla looking. Just me. I know food is very personal. I might be eating at the buffet a lot.

1. Yes, you can.
2. You can ask but there is no guarantee a specific server will or won't do it. Nor is there a requirement they do it.

I think if you can let them know the night before that you might want something from another restaurant, it helps them plan. So, if you look ahead and think you'll do that, maybe talk to your server ahead of time.

And, yes, enjoy as many things as you'd like!

I mean, you can but unless they share a galley, it's a lot of extra work for your server (and I can't remember if 1923 and Arendell share one). If they do in fact share a galley, it's still extra work, just not as much. Your server will try to be as accommodating as possible so they will act like it's no big deal but honestly, getting you food from 1923 will be challenging for them. Order a few things from Arandelle and try them, you may find you actually like something you didn't expect. I don't remember anything being blah from any of the dining on the Wish. I'm starting to feel that way about the other four ships though.

In terms of "eating at the buffet a lot" that isn't an option for dinner. Breakfast and lunch only. And TBH, that's where the blah really is, definitely not in the MDRs.

As above, no dinner buffet after cruise shutdown. You can check times for pool deck food for dinner (usually open til 6 pm).

Reports are that BBQ and Cantina seem to be improvements to quick service.

Disney has - as far as I know - never had the buffet open at dinner. Cabanas *used* to be a sit-down thing on all but the first of last night where they trained new servers with a menu that IMHO was the yuckiest stuff off all the MDR menus.

But you are correct in that that has not come back since the shutdown and restart.

I thought it was open at dinner too? I thought someone mentioned that to me. I was just wondering about 1932. That menu looks really good (to me). Appreciate it.

No, buffet (or food hall) is not open on Disney at night. I'm not sure if it ever was as a buffet. Pre-COVID it was a sit down the "interior" nights of the cruise (not the first or last night) with a mash up of the MDR menus (the worst options IMHO) and was used to train servers. But that stopped with the re-start.

As for deviating from the posted menu, we sat next to a group of ladies in Marvel a few weeks ago that had multiple Indian dishes brought out to them that looked INCREDIBLE!! I overheard them thanking the chef for accommodating the request. There were chicken tikka dishes so definitely not a vegatarian accommodation.

1) You can always order as much as you want off the menu and mix and match different things. You can even order just the meat portions of dishes for the table to try. They will do whatever you like within reason.
No doubt 1923 is the strongest of the 3 restaurants, but all 3 restaurants were solid in there own right. 1923 is the most straight forward menu. They are trying to do some different things in the other two to match the theming of the restaurants, so some things hit and some things miss of course. Everyone's pallet is different, so there is no one size fits all here.
Of the 3, most people find the Marvel menu the weakest of the bunch. At Arendelle, we had the scallops, the ham tart, the Troll salad and the charcuterie board, all of those were good to very good. The scallops being the tables favorite, although a puff pastry seems an odd choice with scallops, it works just fine. For the entree's we had the Rib Eye (prime rib) which was solid as prime ribs go. The sea bass, which was excellent (I'm not typically a fish person. It's not a large portion so order 2 portions of the fish maybe.) and we had the meatballs brought out for the table which were not bad. The butter cake was the star of the desserts and although I'm not crazy about apple desserts usually, the apple cake was good as well.
Just a little FYI, in case people don't look at the entire menu or just don't think about it. Most people get the Filet at 1923 and we noticed they had a lobster salad on the "Lighter Notes" portion of the menu, so we asked the waiter if we could have the lobster tail with our Filet with a little drawn butter. A little surf and turf if you will and that's what our entire table ended up ordering. He also brought out a bunch of lamb chops for the table as well.
At Marvel the chicken schnitzel was good, but we assumed it would needed a little sauce. So we ask for a side of sauce that comes on the mystic pasta. We are from the south, so we like our chicken fried chicken with some gravy. Haha The Mystic pasta with scallops was light and not overwhelming, but a good dish. (Scallops were cooked perfectly.) The beef tenderloin was solid as all the beef dishes aboard were and prepared to temperature requested. Although the Pork chop tasted great the closer you got to the middle the more dry it became. Our waiter let us know before ordering that would likely be the case, so we just had him bring out one for the table and we all nibbled off the more fatty moist portion of the chop. We also had him bring out the lamb shawarma salad that was on the "lighter note menu" for the table which was a pleasant surprise. We had all 4 of the main desserts, the sticky Date Pudding, was a bit too sweet for anyone's liking at our table. The key lime, cheesecake and chocolate dessert were all good. The waiter even brought out a plate of little donuts that are on the ice cream sunday as I had asked about them. Haha
Just my two cents, but I'd just say, don't knock it before you try it.

If you do this and the server is able to accommodate, make sure it is reflected in your tip - meaning tip extra! Over the pre-paid tip amount (if you opted for that).

**1923 (the year Disney was founded, also why the fan club is called D23)

And no, that person must have had incorrect information. The Wish has never had a dinner option at Marceline Market. On the other four ships pre-Covid they had a sit-down option in Cabanas. However, it wasn't a buffet and it was either the rotational menu for that evening if all the restaurants were serving the same rotation (i.e. pirate night) OR it was a smattering of dishes from each rotational menu for the night. DCL has never had a dinner buffet option the way other lines often do, at least not since I've been sailing DCL (around 10 years).

That’s what I did but you need to ask your head waiter a couple days in advance.

I was hoping I wasn't stepping on any toes with that post, but I thought it might help. Haha
Because we had 4 adults on the trip we were basically able to try almost everything on all 4 evening menus.
Funny enough we ordered some BBQ at Festival of Foods (pretty good I have to say) at the pool deck and we are from Houston, so in Texas we eat mustard potato salad. My wife was disappointed when they only had white potato salad as she wanted some with the BBQ. I ordered it, took it over to the condiment station and added the mustard, mixed it up and she was a happy camper when I came back to the table. Haha
If you are a lamb fan, all the lamb dishes were good onboard, including the lamb shank on the Pirates Night Menu. If you are going on the 4 day cruise. The lamb chops were very good at 1923. We also ordered all 4 of the apps at 1923, they were all solid. We ordered all of the desserts as well, the Bavarian Cream and Apple Cheesecake were the tables favorites there.
Marvel apps - We had the shrimp and the bao buns. I forgot to mention to ask for a little extra sauce for the bao buns if anyone happens to order those.

Talk to your servers, they will normally do anything they can to accommodate you. Want two entrees or two deserts, order them. Want something from the kids menu, order it. I have been on the Wish twice. It is my understanding that the three restaurants share the same kitchen. You should be able to order from any menu. Again, talk to your server. And appreciate their assistance (tip above the standard)

everything you mentioned food wises on my dad and my radar. we are big lamb eaters. grew up in an Italian household where my grandfather raised lambs so my grandmother always made it for me. no one else in my house eats lamb so I don't get to make it much unless it s the summer and my parents come down and I make it for my dad and myself.

im on a bao bun kick right now when I smoke a shoulder or a brisket. im really liking them for those types of sandwiches.

I forgot about pirate night. that menu is different?

Yes and it seems much better than it was a decade ago. I think my husband ended up orderering 2 orders of the samosas he loved them so much.

Here's a link to the menu that DCL Blog has posted, it should be more or less current.

I actually enjoyed the Arendelle menu, I ordered 2 appetizers and the cod entree.

Yes, that one is different as well. You will be repeating one of the restaurant venues but all the restaurants will be serving off the Pirate Night menu regardless.
Here is a more recent Pirate's Night menu: https://static1.squarespace.com/sta...e+Caribbean+Night+Menu+Disney+Cruise+Line.pdf
