WISH check week of 4-20

Take a deep breath..... now much better. You can do it!

Here's my 2 cents on tips that have helped me. I agree that drinking the water is important. I pour 64 oz into a pitcher and make sure it is empty at the end of the day. I understand that water is water and you should not count any other beverage you drink during the day toward the water goal. (Is that what everyone else does?)

And plan, plan, plan. The night before, I know what I will have for breakfast and lunch the next day and snack too, so I have those points tallied. I leave my dinner options open as DH usually has something either prepared or well on its way when I get home from work (yep, he is home earlier then me and he is starving by then so he knows he gets to eat quicker if he gets it started). Luckily, he is dieting too but he does the Zone, I do WW and I just make whatever we are having fit to my points left.

You will be a beautiful bride and tomorrow will be a brighter day {{hugs}} from Ohio.....

Hugs, Elisabeth!!! Don't worry about this weigh in...tomorrow's another day and you will be fine!! :) Don't get discouraged, you are doing fine! Everyone has their ups and downs!! We are all here for you!!!

{{{HUGS}}} Elisabeth!!

I'm sort of in the same boat. I've been having a very hard time getting the weight off this time.

This week I lost the 1/2 pound that I gained last week, so I'm right where I was 2 weeks ago!

I've even lost track of how many weeks and how many pounds since starting the WISH challenge. I think it's been 8 weeks and only about 3 pounds lost. I was weighed and measured at Curves yesterday also, and only lost 1 1/2 pounds and 1/2 inch in the last month! But at least that inch came off my belly!

I, too, have been doing the up and down thing, Elisabeth. Just don't give up! It WILL come off!! For both of us!! It kills me to know that about 10 months ago I had lost 50 pounds and was less than 5 pounds from goal! Then, I gained some back. I try to see the positive that at least I caught myself sooner this time than in the past and didn't gain it ALL back! My weight loss total is now at 34 1/4 pounds and I have 19 1/4 to lose to get to goal. But, even though I'm not losing it like I did before, I'm still 34 1/4 pounds lighter than I was in June, 2001!

Hang in there, Elisabeth! We'll all be hanging right there beside you!

Elizabeth! You have a lot of support here, both from WW and those not doing that particular plan.

First: Fitday is helpful for whatever you are doing. It tracks what you eat, the calories, and shows you a pie chart of what kinds of things you are eating. You can track your exercise and weight, too. Click and see!

Second:
water.gif
Water. Absolutely. The more you drink, the better for you. I never get in the car without my green tea and a bottle or two of water. At work (school) I always have a BIG mug. Dig out an old WDW refillable mug if you have one. Everytime you empty it, you will be able to say: Another one bites the dust! I don't even count, I just keep it with me at all times. (That's one problem with weekends! ;) )

Third: Planning. You bet. When I make my lunch, off I go to Fitday and record it. Sometimes I have to add, often I have to remove, but it's already on, so it keeps me focused on the path.

Fourth: I take my lunch (and it is BIG :teeth: ) and I divvy it up throughout the day. I start at breakfast by holding back my banana until just before school starts. Recess, I take out something quick from my lunch. Lunchtime, I eat a fair bit of my lunch, but save 1) something for recess and 2) an apple or something similar for the trek home. Then, I'm not starving at supper, can eat a small something, and am satisfied. I call this
healthy grazing. ie. eat all day long! :jester: That part I love!

Elizabeth, you are going to do this! Debbie, I know that you are, too. I can tell by your positive attitude! ((((HUGS))) We're doing this together, and together we are strong!

YOU CAN GET THAT 5 POUND CLIPPIE!!! :) You can do it! That is a great goal!!!!! Cheer up, ok? Shake off those depressed feelings, take several deep breaths and MOVE ON!! :)

This is your week to really get that metabolism soaring. Make it a priority to exercise at least 5 times, really challenge yourself. Get sweaty! Move that body! Work those lungs!!!!! Get your heart pumping!

You can do it! We are all here to cheer you on and support you. Kath is always reminding us that we can't change the past, and it's so true! No use even giving it a second thought. You have to take this day by day and pound by pound.

Do you have a PM Buddy? What about just posting a daily update here so we can cheer you on! :) Let us know how the day went, how you were feeling, what type of workout you had, if you stayed on plan food wise, etc. We'll be crutches for you until you feel like you are back in your groove!

Good luck, sweetie!!! Don't be discouraged. You can do it!

((((Elizabeth))): Keep your chin up, and begin again! Today is another day, and you can do it!

I weighed in today and am down 3 pounds, for a total of 7 in 2 weeks. I am glad to see more weight "biting the dust!"

Linda

Last week I was so down because I maintained that I didn't even want to check in but this week I couldn't wait! I worked extra hard this week and lost 5 lbs, giving me a 15 lb clippie and an extra pound towards the 20!!! I was so excited and felt like I've made it past another plateau. For anyone that is struggling please just keep with it. I could have easily went the other way this week but with the help of everyone plus some inspiring PMs from AnnieT and glo (thank you)...I DID IT! Good job everyone!!

:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

<b>Joining in the group ((hug)) for Elisabeth :) You can do this and we'll be here whenever you need us.

My week was pretty good. I'm now at 12 pounds in 18 days. I don't know why but, I feel it should be more since I have not strayed from the program once (WISHful thinking, I guess :teeth: ). But, I'm happy with the loss and this week, I'll be working on drinking more water. I just can't seem to let go of the diet soda and I'm thinking this may be part of the problem.

Have a great week everyone! :) </b>

Well, I recommited last week and stayed on plan (most of the week), I exercised 6 days and only lost 1 pound. I know that 1 pound is better than none or gaining, but I am really wanting more next week. I have planned on uping my time on the treadmill this week and being even more careful on my eating and try to stay on the low end of my points each day instead of the upper end.

Congratulations to everyone who has lost and doing so well, and hugs to everyone who is struggling. I know the feeling, but we can all do it together.

Here is to a great week to us all:D .

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Elisabeth}}}}}}}}}}}}}} I know that you can do it !!! You just have to look within to find the strength you need to accomplish your goal.

I have a lot to share this week.

First, I broke through my plateau and lost 2.5 pounds ! I thought about what I ate my most successful weeks and realized that fish and seafood were the key. So, I had sushi, salmon, escolar, and imitation lobster throughout the week. If I sprout gills you will know why.

Second, I am going to reach the 25 pound goal I set for this Wednesday (just 1/2 pound to go). I made an appointment for my cut and color at Jose Eber salon. I feel that I deserve a really good makeover. I was so impressed that Jose Eber did free makeovers for 6 local military wives last month and wanted to support the salon. If I wanted to wait until May 5th, I could have Jose do my consultation. As it is, the director of the salon will do it. I will post pictures this week.

Third, I went shopping on Saturday with my fashion consultants. (my 26 year old assistant and her best friend) I must have tried on 50 outfits. They snuck in smaller sizes and most of them fit. The dress, shoes and accessories are all great and I can't wait to wear my new outfit on Friday night.

Congratulations to all of our losers and maintainers. For those that gained, keep the faith.

Well I weighed in this morning!!!! I lost 2.5 for a total of 13.75!!! Almost to 15. I can hope maybe next week!!!! I was sooo excited.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

{{{hugs}}} to Elisabeth too - feel free to start threads whenever you need a pick-me-up; we are all here for you!!

ok, YYYYYYYYIIIIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

I did it! I made it to 149!! 5 lbs gone forever!!!!! clippie pls??

I went to the Y this morning, made sure to potty before weighing-in; washed hands and dried real good (no water droplets adding ozs); took shoes off (standard procedure) and stepped on! I moved the big one to 150 and it cluncked. yea!! I got to move it to 100!! Then I tried 148, another clunck; but settled quietly at 149 :)

I'm surprised after the holiday, though I felt I did good but not perfect. I think last weeks TOM left me a little poofy and it's gone too. At first I thought, I'll wait a week before getting my clippie in case it goes back up. I have seen the 140s very briefly a few times in the past five years - but never maintained there. I'm still hesitant that I'll stay here. No wait - I won't because I'm going down!

For all those who are discouraged - please know I accepted the WISH challenge 2/22 - yes that's right. Two months to lost 5 lbs - I was at a 2 lb loss for about 6 week! Don't give up!

WISHers! We are all doing great!!!

My turn to change clippies! After staying the same last week, I have lost 3 pounds this week!! WOOO HOOOO!!! I am so happy and so proud of myself because I have passed on some major temptations and done fine! This time I am doing it for MEEEEEE!! :teeth:

This is a great group of LOSERS!!!! Now I am off to get my new clippie and update my signature.

Congratulations to everyone who's posted a loss this week and {{hugs}} to those who haven't ... your time will come!!! :) I weigh in tomorrow and am expecting to see some kind of loss (keeping my fingers crossed!).

Well I was hoping to report at least a 1 pound loss (I was down 1 pound on my Friday mid-week weigh-in) today but it was not to be. I last officially weighed-in on Tuesday but I was hoping to weigh-in today because I like weighing in on Mondays better. However, I am having some TOM issues this morning and it showed me as up 1/2 pound :( so I decided because I have extenuating circumstances surrounding this weigh-in that I will just not count this one and I will wait a few days to see if my 1 pound loss will come back.

Congrats to all of the losers this week and to those of us who either maintained or gained we just need to lean on each other a little more this week to ensure that next week will be better for us as well! :)

Ok, I know, I was bad again this weekend. I regained 2.5 lbs just since Thursday! And, I really wasn't terribly bad! (not terribly good by any means, either! ;) ) I had been so excited because I had lost 1.5 lbs within a few days, and then I just turn around and screw up during the weekend!

Just have to jump back on the wagon again... :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I'm proud of all of you that stayed strong over the holiday weekend!! Way to go!! :jester:

I lost zip this week. I've started Atkins today; so far, so good. I need to get my sugar levels back under control and low carb is the only thing that works for me.

Congrats to all you "losers" and {{{hugs}}} for all the rest of us.

Thanks for the Fitday info! I think I'll be using it a lot!

"Onward and downward"
Linda

I'm down 2 pounds this week. I chose to eat a big meal at our family get-together on Friday, but stayed totally "legal" for the other 20 meals of the week. My son, who is away at university, said "wow - you HAVE lost a lot of weight" That was nice to hear. I have lost a total of 24.5 pounds. Looking forward to my next clippie.:D
Congratulations to all the "losers" this week. To those who didn't lose, remember it's a new week. We have to do this one day at a time.:D

<b>ead79</b> It's not a failure to change your timeline. I think it is a very positive step. I'm proud of you for thinking of it.

I know how discouraging it can be to see a gain, I gained two pounds last week, it can be very discouraging.

But lucky for you, you have <b>WISH</b>! We never give up here and we don't let our friends give up either.

You can do this Elisabeth, I know you can. {{{HUGS}}} for you my friend. You will be successful, just hang in there. Never give up. I'm proud of you for coming here to WISH instead of giving up.

<b>CDoobee</b> For someone who lost 1/2 pound and 1 1/2 inches this past week, you don't sound very happy. Hey Debbie! You're making <b>progress</b>!

It isn't easy for anyone to lose weight but when you are Vegan it is even more difficult. I wish you would be proud of yourself for losing the weight and inches that you did. I know you want to lose faster than this, but remember...the slower you lose the weight the better chance you have of keeping it off. Okay? Now, smile sweetie. The weight is coming off you just don't like the timeline, it will all be gone eventually. I know it will because I know you can do this. I'm proud of you :)

<b>Luckymommyx2</b> WooHoo!!!! Look at you go! I'm so glad you didn't give up. Just think if you had, you would have missed this exciting weigh in. Good for you!

I love your new clippie and I am <b>so</b> proud of you!

<b>Kelsie</b> Et tu, Kelso? You and Cdoobee :) It took me 21 days to lose 18 pounds. You are disappointed in averaging a loss of 6 pounds every week? Boy, are you lucky you have me here to protect you from everyone who maintained, lost 1/2 pound or even gained last week ;) I imagine they would <i>love</i> to have this problem-I sure know I would love to lose 6 pounds a week again.

You are doing so well! Only 3 more pounds and you will have that 15 pound loss clippie. You are going to have that new clippie in no time at all.

Keep up the good work and drink your water like a good girl. I'm really proud of you.

<b>jimmytammy</b> You only lost one pound? Just <i>one</i> pound?? Did you say you <b>only</b> lost one pound? Would you have preferred to have <i>gained</i> one pound? I didn't think so.

Okay, try it this way:

:Pinkbounc :bounce: <b>WOOHOO!!! I lost one whole pound of ugly fat!!!!</b>:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Isn't that better? Isn't that motivating and energizing? I like that much better.

I'm proud of you even if you aren't proud of yourself. Losing 1 pound is 52 pounds in one year. Come back in a year and see if you will say "I only lost 52 pounds". I don't think it will happen.

Be proud of yourself. You are a <b>success</b>!

<b>Tink33</b> Good for you! I'm so happy for you breaking through that plateau. What is escolar? I love lobster but imitation lobster is too high in carbohydrates for me.

You are almost to <b>goal</b> now <i>that</i> is exciting. How neat that you are getting a makeover and at a Jose Eber salon, no less. Tres chic. What fun that you can wear smaller sizes and are getting new things. I'm so happy for you.

Way to go, Leslie! I knew you could do this all along.

<b>Jiminy102</b> Oh my gosh, you lost another 2.5 pounds? That's wonderful, that's stupendous, that is pretty darn good kiddo ;) Correct me if I am mistaken, but weren't you getting pretty discouraged not too long ago? Aren't you glad you didn't give up? I sure am.

Look at you go! You are a success and I am so proud of you. I'm happy for you too. Thanks for helping to keep all of us motivated here, I surely appreciate all that you do.

<b>ohMom</b> WOOHOOOOO!!!! Look at you go. Love that new 5 pound clippie, it's gorgeous.

What a wonderful example you are for all of us who gain instead of lose or lose so slowly that it seems imperceptible. I am so happy and proud for you. I knew you could do it all along :)

<b>geetey</b> WOW, 5 pounds total, gone forever. You are doing so well. I'm really glad you are part of my support group, you keep me motivated.

Losing 3 pounds in one week is an awesome accomplishment. I sure hope you are proud of yourself because <i>I'm</i> proud of you.

<b>becka</b> Becka, Becka, Becka...what have I told you about weighing yourself more than once a week? See, I'm so much older than you are so I have lots of experience with this stuff. When you do that you are setting yourself up for disappointment. So stop doing that. Weigh just one time per week.

Okay, the mean old bloat fairy has visited you, he visited me too. It happens. Don't get discouraged. You know this is fluid and that is going to come off eventually.

Hang in there, sweetie. Don't be discouraged. Keep on keeping on and you will be successful. Visit WISH often and vent if you need to, that's what we are all here for, it helps us to help you :)

Promise me you won't give up? Believe in yourself. <i>I</i> believe in you. {{{HUGS}}}

<b>disneyfan551</b> Go read what I just said to Becka  Don't weigh yourself so often!

Okay, you know as well as I do that you are holding fluid. It's not possible to gain 2.5 pounds of fat in 3 days, phsyically impossible.

So, don't give up. Don't worry about any mistakes you made over the weekend. The weekend is gone, we can only worry about right now. Are you making good food choices today? That is all that is important.

{{{HUGS}}} my friend, I'm sorry you are feeling so discouraged. You are successful at this weight loss thing and you are doing well. I'm proud of you and I'm really glad that you are part of my support group.

Now, stand up straight, take a deep cleansing breath and put a smile on that pretty face of yours. Now say, "<b>I can do this!</b>" Because you can you know, you <b>can</b> do this and you <i>will</i> do this, it's just going to take a little time, sweetie.

<b>Hannosmom</b> Good luck with Atkins. It really has helped my husband keep his blood sugar under control.

Perfect timing, you're starting Atkins just in time for San Jacinto Day. Don't tell me you forgot already? Go grill some ribs or something. Good luck with your first week on Atkins. I love it.

<b>NancyK</b> Good for you! 2 more pounds gone forever.

Did you get teary when your son said that? I would have puddled right up :) What a wonderful compliment.

I'm so proud of you, you are doing so well.

I don't weigh in until Thursday. Onward and downward my friends!

not weighing. I obsessed too much, and gave up on the scale until April 30th.

HOWEVER.......................

I did go shopping on Saturday and bought a pair of 14W jeans, and when I started, I was into 18s (tightly) and 20s.

SO I know it's working!!!! My treadmill should arrive soon. On average, I walk 1/2 mile just in the office, so I am planning on doing at least 2 miles on the treadmill per day.

Going to Vegas on Friday and not worried about food for a change. I don't plan on doing anything out of the ordinary, except have some champagne, but we will walk everywhere, so I should be ok with that.

Here's to everyone having a great week, no matter what.

Onward and Downward!!!!!
