WISH Check In Thread, week of December 28, 2003

I am happy to report that I lost a pound!!! I did treat myself with desserts on Christmas, and I ate a doughnut at my mother's the other day, but overall did pretty well over the holidays. The only day that I did not do the WATP tape was Christmas day, but kept on track with my exercise.
I think that this is the first holiday in years and years that I did not gain weight.

Well, I am happy to report a loss, even though I did dig into that dressing and gravy on Christmas day!!!! I managed a 3 pound loss !!! So, that gave me my christmas present... a new clippie!!!!
Julie

You could have knocked me over with a feather!!! (Well, it would have to be a big, big, heavy feather ;) )

I went to my WW wi this evening expecting to be up at least 2 pounds. That is what my scale showed this morning. I was so surprised when she told me I lost .25! Not much, I know but when you are expecting a gain, that seems pretty good!! Maybe the whoosh fairy is smiling upon me!!!

The best thing is that it maintains my 50 pound total loss from last week and now I can grab that new clippie!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I maintained, but I think the scale is broken. My jeans sure feel tighter.

wdwnutze, I only lost .5 lb this week also but that is great. I am excited about it. Congrats to you for still trying!

Alyson, welcome to our club. Everyone here is an inspiration to me so I hope they will be for you also.

All these new clippies! Gold! way cool. keep up the great work everyone.

Well I had a 5.8 pound gain. That better be the last time that happens. It has to be all downhill from here. To goal or bust!!!

Luckily, the numbers on the scale are going lower. When I got on this morning, the scale was lower than it was the day prior. If I keep seeing the scale going to a new lower number each day, I could get back to where I was in no time!

Melanie

WAIT!!! Did I hear someone say NEW CLIPPIE? And did my eyes play a trick, or is that one of those beautiful 50 pound beauties?????

Mowsie Dreamer - Way to go!!!!!

and now, back to our regularly scheduled check in thread...

I'm back, and weighing in every week this next year. (my promise to myself). I've maintained the same loss forever, pretty much up 3#, then down 3#. I do believe it is time to get SERIOUS!

So here I am, doing Low Carb. Even remembered to go to chat last night! And it really, really helped. I sat in front of my screen, laughing and drinking water, then off to bed. There was NO SNACKING before bed. (big problem of mine) WISH really works!!

Onward and Downward!

Onward and Downward!

And I'm really glad you came to chat last night. I love chatting with you! :sunny:

Congratulations to all who posted here, even if you did gain a little, because you still went ahead and posted.

I lost 4lbs this week and I got a new clippie :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc So now I am really motivated to stay OP over New Year. I figure if I managed to do it over Christmas I can do it over New Year.

I am back after falling off the atkins wagon the last few weeks. I offically gained 6 pounds, so I am a little disappointed--but it really could have been much worse. I've started back on Atkins--and my Walmart is PACKED with Atkins items, which really helps. Looking forward to positive check-ins. Happy New Year to all the WISHers.

I have stayed the same this week. I had moments of glory and moments of disaster. Fortunately, they offset each other and I have managed to stay the same. I have another rough couple of days ahead but then I will get back on track full steam.

Best wishes to all in the New Year! Thanks for all your help this past year.

Looks like I managed to los a pound while visiting my in-laws over Christmas. I'm not certain, because our scale was a little flaky this morning - but I'm going to take it for now! I exercised every day while back in Ohio, either visiting Curves or running on the hotel treadmill. I also tried to make the best choices I could at each meal, with lots of veggies and less breads and other carby things - and drank water whenever I had the chance. While I did indulge a bit too much with all the Christmas cookies and fudge, I think it all turned out all right in the end.

I also maintained (and added to) my loss from last week, so I have successfully made my New Year's goal. Hooray!

Now onwards and downwards for 2004! See ya next year!

As of my official weigh-in day on Mon I had maintained, but have since dropped 1 lb. If I can just behave myself tonight at our New Years Eve party maybe I'll be able to lose 1 more lb & start the new year off with a new clippie. My plan for tonight is that even though we will get dinner at the party I've already eated a small low carb dinner at home. The dinner there will be late so I plan on just snacking on whatever I can find that is low carb because I won't be very hungry, & to spend the night on my feet dancing instead of just sitting!

:grouphug: I also want to extend a big Thank You to all of you WISHers! You have helped me & inspired me over the past year so much more than I ever could have imagined. Without all of you I'm sure that there was more than one time I would have given up over the past year when I was stalled out or just being rebellious, but your support & encouragement has kept me going. I'm looking forward to more of the same in the upcoming new year.

Have a safe & Happy New Years, everyone! :jumping1:

Hope everyone had a great New Year's :wave2:

I had a fairly big gain of 1.6 lbs  Of course, that's what I get for chowing down on chocolates and cookies. It's so hard to resist when people bring them over for the holidays! (Why do they do that when they *know* you're on a diet  Some things I'll never understand :p) Anyway, it's time for me to get back OP and hopefully I'll have a loss to report next week :p

I had another gain of 1/2 pound. I seem to be going up instead of down. I have realized that I am not drinking enough water and I am really going to focus on that. I have also been snacking too much at night, too close to bed time so that has got to stop.

Congratulations to all of you who lost and maintained. If you are in the boat that I'm in with gaining, now is the time to get back on track. We don't need to focus on the past, but look toward the future and know that we can do this if we put our mind to it.:D

I'm officially up 2 lbs this week (the two I had lost Christmas week). Biggest issue was sugar (managed to avoid the starches) and not enough water. I'm confident that these two pounds will come off quickly, and I can start my run for that gold clippie! Basically, when looking at the whole holiday and my vacation I have maintained and kept my 25lb clippie and that's fine with me. Maintaining over the holidays IS a success!

Well, I'm off to attempt to make a spread sheet of my exercise chart for 2004. It will include a nice reward for each 13 weeks:
4/2 reward: new toaster oven
7/2 reward; new swimsuit
10/1 reward; new sneakers (really good ones!)
12/31 reward; snazzy new warm up suit for WDW 1/2 marathon!

Onwards and downwards everyone:wave2:

Hi to all :)

I have not weighed in or check in in weeks :(

Had one of our twins in the hospital with a couple of surgeries and after recuperating we took our bunch (7 of them) to WDW for pop century opening.

I am now hopefully back on track and will weigh in on Monday.

I am so impressed by everyone, especially those that managed to maintain and/or lose over the holidays. You are all such an inspiration to me.

My goal is to get exercising several times a week (chasing the twins and the two year old just doesnt count I guess).

Thanks again to all

Jeanne
