Good Morning! I figured I would get this started, even though I don't have any thing good to report. The Bloat fairy has dropped by (I think my kids let her in!) and I am up 1.5lbs. However, I cannot move my rings and it is almost TOM, so I know it is water retention.
For this week, my goal is maintain the weight I have lost. I am not going to set myself up for anything else, as I know I will be eating OP on Thanksgiving.
Have a blessed holiday!

Somehow I think I missed last weeks check-in. Im trying to figure out what my last weigh in report was...hmmmm, not like me to forget my weekly weigh in. A lot has happened this week: new job and new nephew!!! Yippee!

I'm happy to report that I am down 14.5 pounds total. I know it's less than last time, but I'm not sure by how much. I was hoping for it to be more, but TOM arrived with the bloat fairy.

Hope everyone is staying positive and working towards their goals.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

I've only just begun, but since my official start on 11/16, I have lost 4.5 pounds! I feel like singing the Carpenter's song, "We've Only Just Begun.......to Live!!!!"

Hi gang!!! Just wanted to stop in and say helo!!!! I am down 2 pounds this week!!!! That is good becasue over the last several months I had gained 6 pounds!!!! SO I am happy!!! Ok time to get moving and get something done around here!!! HAve a great week everyone!!!

I gained 2 pounds this week, so I'm in losing mode. I want to go into Thanksgiving with a loss! I usually weigh in on Thursday mornings, but will do it on Wednesday night this time. :)

Have a great week, and a super Thanksgiving everyone!

Hi Everybody,

I stayed the same last week. Things are really moving slowly. Where is the WHOOSH fairy when you need her?

I'm not going to drive myself crazy this week with the holiday and all. For the first time in 37 years, I'm not cooking. We're invited out for Thanksgiving, and I will do my best. PROMISE!

Thanks, Jeanne for starting the thread. I think that I missed last week.

I went to Curves this weekend to find that over the month I have:
  • lost a little over an inch
  • lost more than three pounds (lots better than the 0 I was giving myself credit for
  • lost more body fat
Got up this morning and discovered that the fish and green tea yesterday worked and I have finally
  • made my third 10% weight loss
  • and can sneak in my new clippie (I'll take if for the day, anyway) ;)

Good luck to everyone as they weigh in, and stay strong, but ENJOY the holiday that y'all have this week.

I'm down .6 this week and while I usually try to be upbeat that a "loss is a loss" I was really depressed this morning as I have been working SO hard this week. I even added jogging to my exercise, have been really watching the calories, and drinking lots of water. Over the past 3 weeks I have lost a combined total of 2.6 lbs which is nowhere near what my average has been over the past few months. I'm nowhere near goal so I have no idea why my loss is slowing down. :( If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them. I know that the BF is visiting right now but that doesn't explain the past couple weeks. For next week my plan is just to maintain, if I can work a loss in there that would be great but with the holidays I'll be happy to just maintain.

kayeandjim:

I took the liberty of looking you up on the WISH roster, and saw that you are eating sensibly. Maybe I can offer a few suggestions:

1.) First of all, if you've added more exercise, you need to be sure that you're doing a few things. You probably need even more water. When you sweat more, you're de-hydrating more. Be sure to keep your water up. You also may need to add more calories. If you're burning too many calories, your body says "WHOAH!!!! We're burning WAY more than we've got. We've got to slow down and burn fewer calories." Basically, you start going into that starvation mode. Be sure that you're balancing your exercise with enough calories. And another issue with the exercise is that muscle weighs more than fat. You very well may be gaining some muscle, which will show on the scale as a gain.

2.) I might also suggest using a more regimented program. You may benefit from Weight Watchers, since that seems to mirror eating sensibly. (Without cutting anything out) But jump around. Try a few different plans, and see what works.

3.) Your carb intake might be too high. As we get older, our bodies don't metabolizae the way they used to. While you don't need to cut carbs out completely, make sure that they're not the majority of your food intake.

You can do it. Also bear in mind that as you continue to lose, your progress will slow. It just means that your body is liking, and adjusting to the changes you've made. :)

I lost 1lb this week which is fine with me since I had a day or two where I fell off the wagon a bit. I also lost 2.5 inches and I'm very happy about that since I went 2 weeks without seeing a change in inches.

I'm also in between sizes again - my 16's are a bit big but the 14's are still a bit tight. Hopefully in another week or so the 14's will fit perfectly.

I've had a great week. I had my 4 month Atkins anniversary and have now lost 40 lbs so I got a new clippie. :)

I'm also down 2 lbs this week. My exercise routine is going well.

I'm planning to stay on plan for Thanksgiving, but to have a few extras goodies I don't normally have such as Atkins cornbread.

We got invited to a family Thansgiving on Wednesday night and it's going to be Mexican. Good thing it's a pot luck. ;) I've found some great low carb mexican recipes so I guess I'll be making all of the food for DH and I.

I hope everyone has a fabulous Thanksgiving and enjoys the holidays with their families. :)

I'm down another 1.5 lbs this week ... which totally takes care of that 3 lbs I gained a few weeks ago :) with an extra 1/2 lb to boot! I am now 1/2 lb away from my 35 lb clippie. Already holiday festivities (and I mean Christmas) have started and temptations-a-plenty! It's also getting harder to get to Curves as often because of everything going on :( I would really love to be "in the 160's" by Jan 1st, but if it doesn't happen, that's OK too. As long as I can maintain throughout the season, I will be very pleased.

Congrats to all this week ... and Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends :wave2:

Well, After I started walking last week, I gained 3 pounds and lost no inches :( But I have lost those 3 pounds back again for a total loss of 0 this week. I had a slight case of food poisoning, so I thought I would have lost more, but no such luck, could be because I am still dehydrated tho, can't drink any water at my part time job :(

Wish I had good news to report this week but I'm up a pound.

Totally accountable for it. Didn't do WATP once all week (work and life got in the way). Also did a little too much snacking over the weekend and made some bad food choices as well.

I'm putting this weekend (when I did most of the damage) behind me and starting out fresh this week! I will focus on the choices I make, I will make time for exercise, and I will pay more attention to my portion control.

Since this is a lifelong journey I know that there will be bumps in the road. I will not let those bumps change my path!

In the past I think it would have, but now that I have WISH I know I can come, be accountable for myself and get the support I need.

Congrats to all your losers! To those who have gained or maintained - we know we are still committed. Here's to a great week!

I am down another 2lbs this week. :D For a total of 7lbs. I was a little worried since I went a little off last week on Wednesday and Thursday. But I did really good the whole weekend.
Who's next?

Morning - no loss this week - in fact I gained 2 pounds - not like I don't know why:( I think I am going to try something different - been doing WW for a while and I have lost 30 pounds - but now I just keep putting on and taking off the same 5.

Hope everyone has a great week!

:earseek: WHOOSH! THERE SHE IS!!:earseek: After my pitiful display of weakness last week, I have a 4 pound loss this past week-I forgot TOM was coming, so, I must have been retaining!:boat:
Anywho, it fees great to see those numbers moving...1 more pound and I will get a new clippie! I won't make the Thanksgiving goal, but that's okay, I have lost some of it, and lots of people have reached their goals and then some!!
Have a great week!
:wave2:

Hi everyone! I lost 2.5 pounds this week. That makes up for the .5 pound gain last week. It also lets me grab my ten pound clippie! I am off to MIL's on thanksgiving morning and then to WDW on Sunday so I probably won't be around too much until we get back on 12/9. I am just hoping to maintain while we are in WDW.
Good luck to all of you with thanksgiving and all the holiday goodies. Just remember if you slip up not to let it get to you. Jump back on plan and forget about the mistake. I'm cheering for all of us to have a successful and happy holiday season! :D :wave2:

2 pounds this week for me!!!
Hopefully I will not gain any this week with Thanksgiving coming up.

Hi,

I'm sorry :( to report I will not reach my goal of 10 pounds by
Thanksgiving. I only lost 3 pounds since this thread started and
in fact only lost 3 since I've been on this board.

I have read other posts where others have stalled and maybe that is my problem so I am not so upset that I will throw in the
towel, I'll just make a new goal.

:D Reach my goal weight by Christmas. Goal weight is to finally get back to the weight on my driver's license. :D

Also, I have a question for Debbie, What is this about green tea and fish? Thanks
