Can you believe we are starting week 5? We are doing great with our different committments and it has really helped get me back on track with my exercising. I still struggle some days with the feeling of really not wanting to do it, but then I remember you all here on the thread.

I haven't gotten in my exercise yet, but will be doing it before the day is over. So my committment for the day is to get 30 min. of exercise in, eating breakfast and drinking plenty of H2O.

Remember anyone can join our thread, it isn't just an exercise thread or for only ones that were in chat. We are just here to help keep each other and ourselves accountable to the committments that we make for our own good.

Can't wait to hear how everyone is doing today. PD to you all!

to shout out loud my committment to stay within my WW pts and not eat more than 4 pts between lunch and dinner!!

whew -- needed to get that off my chest:crazy:

i will try try try to post here this week too!

My commitment this week is to stick with the plan I have outlined for myself. Which means Exercise today, Thur, Saturday, and Sun.

~Amanda

Hi Tammy!

I'm almost back among the living. I've been following everyone's progress, and all I can say is Wow! Everyone has been such an inspiration to me.

I didn't quite meet my goals for the week, and I think I'll have to amend this weeks goals. I'm hoping to get back to some mild walking when I can get the children well enough to go back to school (Spencer has double ear infection/bad cough /congestion...Katie has sinus infection/cough/congestion/virus induced hives) Lots of sleepless nights. I'm sure most of you have been through it before.

One good thing about being sick (me) is that I've lost enough weight to get my next clippie. Not quite the way I wanted to lose it, but hey, you have to look for those silver linings.

Good Tuesday morning everyone.

Well guess what, I am amazed that I got up early two days in a row. I am not an early person, so that is a huge feat. I must say that I feel great after working out, and it lasts through the day. I actually had the urge to exercise last night, but of course there was no time.

I did the FIRM Maximum Cardio Burn plus Abs. I also got in 4 cups of water before going to work! 1 before working out, 2 after and one with my breakfast.

I think I will try to continue getting up to exercise at least until my DH get's home from his TDY trip. He leaves for Savanah Georgia this Sunday and will be gone for two weeks. The extra time after work will help since I'll be doing everything myself. Who knows, after getting up early for 3 weeks, maybe it will be a habit and easy to do. Maybe I will continue.

tw1nsmom - Glad you got your new clippie, but sad that you were sick! Don't worry about not meeting your goals. The most important thing is trying, and not stressing if life gets in the way. There is always tomorrow. You are doing great!

septbride2002 - You can do it! We are here for you!!

Molli- I heard your shout all the way over here in PA! How is the not eating more than 4 between lunch and dinner going?

Tammy-It is amazing that we are starting on week 5. We so ROCK! I agree that having everyone here on this thread really makes you get the engergy to exercise. It's like having a cheering squad behind you saying "you can do it". A big huge support group!

Can't wait to hear how everyone else is doing. Had a great time in chat last night.

by george - it was MelanieC - I saw again while exercising so very early (for her) this morning! WTG - you just might become that morning person yet!

Shoot missed the chat - but I will still be a committer for sure. Did an hour on the TM this am and have weight class tonight - having trouble getting in enough h20 but I am trying - it's just not
job" compatible during working hours and I am off to a meeting tonight.

I am "hungry" today - but just had a nice chef salad and didn't even "look" at all the stuff I knew might just call my name or "jump" right onto my cafeteria tray (eating at a community college cafeteria) and my "reward" was getting a computer so I could surf the board while I enjoyed my wonderful lunch (only 8 available in lunchroom) ;)

Mel - I am going to check out your explaination of the cardio workouts and maybe try them - are they as "hard" as pilates - I get frustrated because I am no good at them. I understand what you are saying about WATP but lately I use weights on the 4 mi and practice kicking higher, etc and I have been sweating. Other day DH said it looked like I was wimping - so thought I better bump it up a notch. But ohMom says crosstraining and I am trying, but I need to really work on my "jelly" abs and tummy area - so maybe the firm is the one to try - whew - I talk too much (oh don't let DH hear me say that !)

Stay committed everyone and ohMom - I heard you too - so we will be checking on you ;)

Hi everybody! And before I forget, I want to thank Alex and the Mods of WISH Chat (ummm, I mean the Tag Fairy!) for my brand new WISH Chat-inspired tags! You guys are too funny, and you really made me smile when I saw them! I posted a thank you on the Tagliarchy, too. You're the best!:love2:

Can you all believe it's Week 5! I'm so happy to be a part of a wonderful group of people who care so much about each other! You all help me in so many ways EVERDAY! I can't thank you all enough! :grouphug:

Tammy, I'm with you when you say that this thread keeps you motivated on days when you may not feel like exercising. There have been many times when I've really wanted to overindulge or eat late at night, and then remember this committment thread. It has helped me so much! Lots of {{goodvibes}} to you as you work on getting in your exercise, H20 and breakfast. You are doing GREAT, Girl!

OhMom! I can hear you in Georgia! I know you'll do well with your points and your snacks! And hey, a little birdie named Bev told me that you are the Queen of straight-leg push-ups! My goal is to be able to do 20 by June--I'm at 10 now, but they kill me! You go Macho OhMom!

Hi Amanda! So glad you joined us in Chat last night! Are you wearing your princess hat?! I know you'll do just GREAT with your committments this week! I'm sending lots of good thoughts your way!

Tw1nsmom--So glad to hear that you're on the mend, and my goodness, I hope your wee ones are feeling better really soon! Poor babies, they sound like they've had a rough time of things! It can be difficult to stick with your committments when there's so much chaos around you--being sick yourself, and having sick little ones can sabotage even the best laid plans! When things get a bit more back to normal, I just know you'll continue the fantastic job you've been doing! And a big congrats on the new clippie! Does the end justify the means? On my scale it sure does!

Hey Melanie! WOW! Another early exercise day--that's awesome! A big WOO HOO to you for getting in not only your MCB + Abs, but also all that water even before you went to work! You keep JAMMIN' ON--you're doing great!!!

Hi Bev! We missed you in Chat, too, but it sounds as though you are SUPER BUSY! Awesome job getting in your TM this morning, and I know you'll be doing some major pumping-up in your weight class tonight! Way to go Mr. Schwarzenegger...ummm...I mean... Bev!

I got in my MCB + Abs and added Calorie Killer for a little extra cardio this morning. Tomorrow it some heavy weight work with Complete Aerobics + Weight Training. I'll continue to eat well (OK, I'm allowing myself two Girl Scout Cookies a day!), not eat past 7pm, and exercise 6x/week.

Way to go WISH Committment-ers!! In the words of my ds8: WE ARE WAY COOL!!! Make today your best day yet, and I'll see you all tomorrow!

i'm here to post that I didn't snack this afternoon :)

i feel like grazing tonight though -- must be an adjustment period. I have a bowl of berries with FF cool whip waiting for me and that's it for today.

I ate a little bigger lunch (2 extra pts) and i really felt full until about 4:30 -- maybe that's the ticket for me?

anyhow -- luvdoggies -- you are a stitch. and -- i have lost a bit of my chesticles but i'm working on getting them back before swimsuit season -- I hate that roll just under my underarms between the shoulder and suit and couple years ago decided I was melting that bad boy!

PD to all for rest of the week!!

Just had to check in because I am not feeling so well now. I got my TOM a few hours ago, and was still feeling fine then. Now I am feeling bloated and yuck and in a funk! Guess I should take another 3 advil to try to get the feeling to dissappear.

Today I went for India Cusine. It was so good, and I ate vegetarian so I know the points weren't too bad, but not sure 100% how to count it (ww points). Then tonight I snuck a fish stick from the kids, after having the best salad I have ever made (spinach, salmon, black beans, corn and salsa).

I was going to do one of my 30 minute tapes, but now I don't know if I feel like it. It may help give me some endorphins that I need. Maybe I will do it to try to lift my mood.

I also weighed 3 pounds more than I did last night when I came home. Thank goodness weigh in was last night! WHEW! It's amazing how that TOM affects us so!

Good Wednesday morning everyone! Hope you all are enjoying a Happy Hump Day!

OhMom! Chesticles!!! I'm sure you'll have those babies lookin' great by bathing suit season! I'm glad you didn't feel the need to snack after your bigger lunch yesterday--maybe that's what you need. And man, did you make me hungry for a bowl of berries with Cool Whip--that sounds delish! I often feel like grazing, too, although I tend to forget that even though I'm not eating a lot of calories at one time, that those same calories actually ADD UP at the end of the day! It's the same mentality I have when it comes to chocolate: You see, if you only eat one Hershey Kiss at a time, the calories really don't count! It's a nice planet I live on...:yo-yo:

Hi Melanie! I'm sorry you're not feeling well--I think just about everyone here can relate to that icky, bloated, achy feeling--and those few extra water-weight pounds that go with it! Maybe a few minutes of exercise will give you a little pick-me-up, but don't be afraid to give yourself permission to just relax if you need to. TOM can be a real PIA! I've never had Indian food before, but it sound so yummy. I've been a vegetarian since I was 14 (yes, you can get really overweight being a vegetarian!), and I know that type of cuisine has lots of veggies and spicy good stuff! I'll definitely have to give it a try. Hope your feeling better soon...

I was up early this morning (darn insomnia rears it's ugly head again!), and did Complete Aerobics + Weight Training and added on Cardio Sculpt Blaster for a little extra cardio work. I'm going to go clean my downstairs and a little later enjoy my warm, cozy fireplace while it's cold, rainy and windy outside.:) I'll continue to eat well today, not eat past 7pm, and exercise 6x/week.

Have a wonderful day, WISHers! I'm so proud of you all!:grouphug:

Hi guys,
Tonight is a much better night. Boy was I feeling out of sorts last night. I think it was the fishstick that put me over the edge, lol!

Tonight I did the FIRM Complete Aerobics and Weight Training and the FIRM Cardio sculpt blaster. Not sure what made me do both, I guess Kim has inspired me. It felt good completing both. I got mad while doing complete Aerbics and weight training because the dvd skipped when I came down from the fanny lifter. I finished the next set and went back. It skipped again, and on the 3rd time I got to finish. It made me made that I had to bring my heart rate down. It turns out there was a piece of cat hair on the dvd......strange.

I hope I didn't scare everyone from posting today after I posted about my night. I just felt overwhelmed and knew you all could relate. The kids and DH don't, lol!

Kim - Great job on exercising today! We are all doing so well. I can't believe it's been 5 weeks.

Well- I didn't do well on water today, did great on exercise. I didn't get up at 5am because I didn't feel well this morning. I am going to set my alarm tonight for 5 and try to get up. I really feel good at work when I do.

Keep up the great work.

get up and do some TMing and a bit of a tape I found at the library today using the exercise ball.

WI today and was bummed - up 2 on that nasty scale! I refuse to think it is really "fat" cause I have been good! One buddy today pointed out that (my words, her gist from Dr. Phil) sometimes we just don't get to the number we want, but as long as we have done everything we should, then it is okay - just keep going - so I am on the "just keep going" mode.

I actually feel a "tad" thinner - so I have been telling myself all postive things today and I am not letting it get me "down"! This is a lifestyle now and I am not going to get crazy over some number - besides I don't think that ohMom is ready to handle a "crazy" just yet, so I am trying to spare her ;)

Everyone is doing great and week 5 we are almost to the it's a "habit" now stage - WTG all you committers!

I'm trying to find Evansmom to see how she is doing - I hope she is not stuck in the corner under some moving boxes and can't get out! (Edit- I just saw that she was going to Bootcamp tonight - so she is just out exercising - not lost afterall!)

I am definately in need of PD for the next few days - lunch out tomorrow with friends from old job - Friday night a carry-in dinner, breakfast out Sat morning and pizza with dgd's (ohmom's girls) Sat evening. If I make it through all this "social" eating (as ohMom put it) I just might have a handle on this lifestyle thing - but can use some major PD to cover me while I figuring out if I can "handle" it or not ;)

I am sorry that I haven't been around much this week, it has been one of those crazy ones that we have sometimes. I am admitting here and now that I didn't get breakfast in Tuesday or Wednesday. I did get my exercise in with a tape on Tuesday, but did nothing yesterday.

My committment for today, eat my breakfast and get my exercise in. They are calling for snow to start coming in soon, so I really won't have an excuse not to get the exercising done. Now I'll just have to work on not snacking.

You all are doing so great and I am sorry that I can't address each of you individually this morning. Just know that I am thinking of you all and sending you lots of PD to help you stick with whatever committment you are working on.

Looking forward to see how everyone is doing today and I'll try to keep up this time::yes:: .

Have a wonderful day!

to let y'all know i'm still here and yesterday between lunch and dinner I had 3 pts worth of popcorn. My DDs were home sick and made some so it wasn't light, but I didn't eat much.

you guys are inspiring me and Mom to look into FIRMing too ;)

i should probably add next week no eating after 7 p.m. -- i used to never but i notice i'm sneaking in every now and then (berries and cool whip:teeth: ) baby steps

PD to you AEG for your lunch today!! order yourself a small pizza, veggies and thinnest crust available. you'll have leftovers for tomorrow :)

MelanieC--oh TOM has no shame this month, he was really wicked to me last week!

tammy -- hang in there. snow? SNOW!! jeesh it's almost spring i'm sure of it -- it was daylight when I left the Y today for the first time this year! tuck in and keep warm - PD to you!

luvdoggies -- you made me extra tired reading all you did yesterday! burn baby burn!

Good Thursday morning everyone! We are about half way done with week 5. We are just so amazing. It's definately becoming a habit, and one that I really like.

Molli- Hope your girls are feeling better. You definately should try the FIRM. It's a lot of fun, although a bit hard at first.

Tammy- I hope you don't get burried in snow. It's hard to believe you are getting snow and we aren't. It's supposed to be nice here the next few days, and I even heard 60's by Monday!

Bev- Don't let the scale get you down. You did great this week, so it's probably just your body adding muscle!! Remember you did that big ole 10 mile walk too!! Lots of PD:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: to help you get through all your social events. I admit that since this is a lifestyle change, you have to learn how to do it. That's why I didn't stress when I had the India Cusine. I have no idea how many points, but I just moved on because I know I ate well like a normal person should!
I have a social event for lunch today too! Glad I know what is ok in points there!! WHEW! Good luck this weekend.

Hope everyone else's day is going well. Keep up the great work everyone!

Hi WISHers! OK, it's confession time. I won't even try to sugar-coat it: Yesterday I made baked ziti and homemade bread, and ate more of it at dinner last night than I've eaten all week total! (Luvmydogs slinks away with tail between her legs...) Now that I've confessed, I have to say that I ENJOYED EVERY SECOND OF IT!!! OMG--nothing tastes quite like warm homemade bread with butter, and it was worth every bite!

Now, here's the good part. Normally, during my yo-yo dieting days, a pig-out like this would send me into a major tail-spin. I'd get discouraged and frustrated with myself and end up back in my overeating/weight gaining cycle. But this time, I'm not letting it bother me--one day is no big deal! I woke up early this morning, got my exercise in, and have eaten well and nutritiously--I'm back on track. When or if it registers on the scale, it won't kill my motivation to keep up with my healthier lifestyle. Fall off the horse, pick youself up and get back on. Thank you all for helping me learn that very important lesson--it makes such a big difference not just during weight loss, but during maintenance as well. Today's a new day...:sunny:

A big JOB WELL DONE to all you WISHers and extra big hugs to Tammy, Bev, Melanie, OhMom, Amanda, Tw1nsmom and everyone else I may have missed.   If you weren't all here, I'd be elbow-deep in a bowl of spaghetti right now, and I can't let myself do the yo-yo thing anymore (800 pounds of it is enough, don'tcha think?). I can't thank you all enough for keeping my motivation and spirits sky-high!

Sorry to have gotten a little mushy and emotional today, but I wish I could put into words what a breakthrough this is for me.
And you've all played such a HUGE PART in keeping me on the straight-and-narrow...:) Once again, a big thanks, and a big hug to all...:grouphug:

oh luvdoggies  you are maintaining and that is an awesome place to be, so I think if you can indulge in a meal you really enjoy then do it, even more so if you can jump back on the wagon first thing without letting one meal roll into two days, then a week, and month, etc etc. no guilt :guilty:for you young lady :goodvibes

i just popped in to say just finished my day (late b/c of dance classes for older DD) but at my pts for the day (maybe over one have to verify) and I had a granola bar for my afternoon snack, clocking in at three pts. I must say is was the best tasting granola bar I'd had in a while, probably b/c I was hungry and not mindlessly munching:eek:

thanks for asking -- youngest DD cold is better, oldest is still debatable, hopefully a good night's sleep with do her well. she must go to school tomorrow I have way too much going on. including picking up 93 cases of girl scout cookies:guilty: :worried: :bitelip:

actually that doesn't sound tempting for today! onward and downward :happy1:

.....ibouncetoo slips in the back door..........and quietly takes a seat in the back of the room, hoping no one will notice she hasn't been to 'class' nor doing her 'homework.'

Perhaps this behavior explains the six week plateau? Did a three mile walk on Sunday, felt great after, no complaining joints or sore back. Have done NOTHING since. I'm thinking I need to make a daily commitment, 'cause I'm sure not having any success trying a weekly one. I am the worlds greatest procrastinator and at the beginning of the week will put-off stuff knowing there's still five or six days to get it done...NOT.

So, before the sun goes down TODAY I'll do two miles (treadmill or WATP) and that's a promise!:)

Good Morning WISHers! After a not so great day on Wednesday, I was back on track yesterday.:) I exercised, ate well and nutritiously and didn't eat after 7pm. I fell asleep around 9:30, and didn't wake up until 5--which for me is great, as I can usually only sleep 3-4 hours a night. My above-mentioned Bread & Ziti Extravaganza didn't show up on the scale these last two mornings, so maybe I lucked out this time. Or maybe it'll sneak up on me when I'm least expecting it...:duck: I did Maximum Cardio Burn and Calorie Killer this morning, and had a high protein breakfast. I'll continue with my committment to exercise 6x/week, eat well and not eat after 7.

Thanks for the kind (and very wise) words, ohMom! Great job with your points yesterday! Isn't it funny how a food like a normal granola bar can taste soooooo goooood when you're eating it out of hunger and not just for something to do?! I hope your babies are feeling better! I knkow I'm looking forward to the end of cold & flu season! And hey--do you think you could make a quick detour to GA with those Girl Scout cookies? Gosh, me all alone with 93 boxes of GSCookies...it'd be a dream come true...:genie: You have a great day, ohMom, and keep up the GREAT WORK!

Hi bouncy...I see you trying to sneak in back there... :) Please come join us on our daily committment thread! I know it's really helping me stick with my maintenance plan better than I could ever do alone! I love to come here every morning and see how well people are doing or to just give a hug and words of encouragement if they're needed. It's great to see everyone's progress, and I'm so motivated by them all! If you have the time, we'd love to see you on the committment thread as often as you can make it--we're always here for you!

Have a great day everyone! WE'RE JAMMIN' BABY!!!:cool1:
