Thanks all to a great chat last night and for those that missed it, hopefully you can make it for a few minutes next week. I am starting this thread this morning but not reporting anything yet. I didn't get up in time to get on the TM before having to get ready to take Mom to the doctor. I will be on there as soon as we get back.

I also wanted to say for anyone popping onto the thread and even if you didn't join us in chat, you are more than welcome to join us here. This is just a place to set your own committment with yourself and then make yourself accountable for it. We would love to have you::yes:: .

I am committing today for 30 min. on TM and other exercises that are routine, drinking my water and eating breakfast.

How is everyone else doing today?

Morning everyone! Great job on your spinning class ohMom!!! And thanks once again, Tammy, for starting this thread--it is so motivating!:) I just got finished with Firm's Complete Aerobics & Weight Training, and will be doing Cardio Sculpt tomorrow. I am waiting for my order of Maximum Cardio Burn to arrive, which I 'll then add to my rotaion. I think I need to get some more new videos and shake it up a bit--I don't want to get bored. Also, thanks to alreadyexcitedgrammy, I made a contract with myself not to eat past 7pm. I'm a horrible insomniac, and will often be on the computer at 2am when I can't sleep, all the while munching away on something because I'm bored and fidgety--that certainly doesn't help with my maintenance at all. Had a great time in Chat last night, you guys, and I'm looking forward to hearing how everyone's doing today! Have a great Tuesday WISHers!:sunny:

Getting ready to head out the door, but I have met one committment for the day and that is to eat breakfast. I had 1/2 grapefruit and a slice of toast with low-fat PB.

I'll hit the exercise when I get back home.

OhMom-Great going with the spinning class so early this morning.

luvmydogs-Good for you for getting yours done already for the morning as well. I think that it's great that you made the contract with yourself and I bet that it will help you especially with the night time eating at the computer.

Keep up the great work and I'll be checking back in later once I get my treadmilling done.

Hey everyone!! Chat last night was fun!

Tammy, Congrats on eating breakfast! WAY To GO! Breakfast is so important, and I never used to eat it. No wonder i pigged out on junk all day. It has made such a difference in the way I feel and keeping my blood sugar level. Let me know how you feel with the PB and toast. I swear by my piece of bread and PB.

Oh Mom- Spinning so early in the morning! You go girl! I sure wish I could make myself get up early, but I want to make sure I continue keeping this habit before I change my time of day. Getting up at 5am would not be easy for me!!

LMD's - Great job on getting up and getting your FIRM done. Today is a FIRM day for me. I try to alternate every other day, but I am going to look into what FIRM tapes I could do in between the ones that are heavy on weights. They are so vague in the book that comes with the BSS2 system. They say rest in between, but then several times it talks about doing a different work out in between and building up to exercise 5-6 days a week. Once I get going a bit more, I know the WATP's is not going to challenge me enough. I don't know what it is about the FIRM tapes, but once you get going you really enjoy doing them.

I want to sign that contract soon, but I really have to figure out a way to eat before 7pm. There are many nights, and WI nights being one (because I don't want to eat prior to WI) and nigts where I can't get dinner on the table that early, or Fri & Sat nights are tough if we are out shopping. Last Sat night we didn't eat till 9pm by the time we came home from the mall, stopped at another store, drove home ordered pizza etc. I have to come up with a plan before I committ. Not sure how to do it.

I am comitting to do either the FIRM - Total Sculpt or Complete Aerobics and Weight Training tonight. Plus running up and down the stairs between 5-10 times. 8 glasses of water today (better go fill my water bottle now).

Have a great day everyone.

Hi ladies - it was great to join you in chat last night. I won't be back in chat for a while because of mon night classes but I think I'll still keep up with the thread.

I said I needed to commit to exercise so here goes. Pilates 3 times a week, upper body weights 3x week and treadmill/WATP 3x week. My weeks start on Sunday since that is WI. So far I have done each one once. Today I will walk again and do weights again.

Hooray for us - we are getting it done! They say 6 weeks and it becomes a habit - so if we think in those terms this week will get us half-way there to helping us form some of those things that help us to be healthier!

luvmydogs - good for you - maintenance help is what you said you needed this is a good way to be accountable to yourself. Now don't forget you should be having some liquids - (I don't count that as eating) hot tea is one of my usuals when it is chilly and I am feeling like I need something and always consider having H20 right there too!

Did an hour this AM on treadmill and weight class tonight so I am good shape for the 1 hour exercise committment today.

Melaniec - maybe the "bewitching hour" just doesn't work for you - don't beat yourself up - my lifestyle is nothing like you guys, who still have kidos around! We are up early means we go to bed earlier. My DH needs more sleep than me, but he also is up earlier than me so probably equals out. I just "hate it" tho when he sleeps till 6:00am on the weekend and then frets that he has missed too much of the day - that's just silly!

Hooray to everyone who is joining in
:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Hey everyone,

I did the FIRM Total Sculp plus abs. Pretty much had to start over during the middle because no one would leave me alone and DH decided he had to call and talk to me during the middle of it. I sort of got mad at everyone, but we MOMS do so much for everyone they should understand that we just want an hour to ourselves. I also ran 8 times up and down the stairs.

Water intake was not so good. I probably only got 2 in at work, and about nothing at home. Don't know why it's so hard sometimes. Definately need to work on this.

Honeymo- So glad you are joining us.

Glad everyone did well today. Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Good Wednesday everyone! Glad to see that so many of us got moving yesterday--you're all doing so great! I did WATP 4 Mile this morning. I woke up really sore in my left elbow, and had planned on doing a Firm tape, but decided not to do anything with weights so I wouldn't aggravate the elbow even more. I have been exercising everyday for a long time now, but just read an article about the importance of at least one rest day, so I'm thinking of make Sunday my day of rest (seems fitting:) ). Sometimes I worry that if I take a day off I'll decide to take another one off, then another... until I'm not exercising anymore--sounds silly, but I've done it before. This time though I have you guys to keep me pumped--I'm so happy to have you all! I ate very well yesterday, and per my new contract with myself (thanks a.e.grammy!), I didn't eat past 7pm. I was up late watching the Wesminster Dog Show and had such a desire to munch, but didn't. I drank a lot instead and peed about 10 times before I fell asleep, but I'll take that over the extra calories! Have a great Wednesday WISHers!:sunny:

I am happy to report that I did get my treadmilling in yesterday (40 minutes). It didn't happen until after lunch and I was so close to saying, oh well, I'll just wait until tomorrow, but I didn't. I got on and was thankful that I did. I also worked all my other exercises in as well, but have got to come up with a schedule. I feel like I'm jumping from one thing to another.

I mentioned that I ate breakfast yesterday before taking Mom to the doctor. I was starving by 10am and had to really watch myself until lunch time. I am thinking though that I did eat it very early and that maybe that was the problem.

I just got off of the TM for 30 minutes and will get the other exercises in after a cup of coffee and mug of water. I am then going to eat some breakfast. I'm thinking that since it is a little later, I probably won't have the problem that I did yesterday. When I ate breakfast yesterday, I truly wasn't hungry, just eating because I had committed to. OK, I'm rambling now and will stop.

Mel-I know what you mean about the not eating after 7pm. We don't have too many of those late night dinners, but it does happen sometimes. I know the feeling of how frustrated it is to be in the middle of exercising and then to get interrupted. It really makes you lose your focus. I too have the issue with drinking the water, but the idea of a cup in the bathroom and fill up after you drain, has been helping me.

honeymo78-Glad you are going to join our thread even though you can't chat. I think that the committment side is the most important part of this idea.

AlreadyexcitedGrammy-Thanks for that reminder of how after 6 weeks it is a habit. Yes we are almost half way there. Way to go on your exercise yesterday and I'm sure I saw you from the distance working out this morning. Wait a minute, I may have seen you in my dreams if you got started real early:teeth: .

LMD-Great job on getting your exercise in too. I'm glad that you adjusted your workout with the sore elbow. Is it an exercise injury or something else going on? I have to say that I do believe in a day of rest and I think that our bodies need that as well. I usually do take Sunday's off because that is our day to go to church, family time, etc. so that works for me. I sometimes think that a day off in the middle of the week might would work better, but I like not feeling like I have to exercise on Sunday's.

I am committing to getting my other exercises in, enough H20 and I'm going to eat breakfast here in just a little while.

Keep up the great work everyone. I can't wait to hear how everyone is doing. :wave2:

Well, I'm having kind of a rough week. I was able to walk monday for about a half hour, and I'm planning on walking today for at least 45 minutes, but I can't seem to get into the exercise everyday routine. The children and I seem to be in a never ending power struggle about everything and anything. Of course, even though I don't give in to tantrums, they ultimately win. They end the day happy and loved, I end the day a basket case. I really need to make more time for "me" and exercise.

Yes, I enjoyed Monday night chat. I stuck! Sorry I didn’t “check in” Tuesday, but I put that time to use at the gym with DH. I did some machine weights that I can’t do at home and we walked around the indoor track. Since I wasn’t sure if we were going, I managed the 20 min Winsor Pilates earlier just so I could have something to report here.

Oh and thanks for the reminder. Have water sitting beside me that I should have consumed already.

Not certain what I will be doing today as I am meeting a friend after work and not sure of the time I will be home. I am sure that I will be able to fit in the 20 min Winsor Pilates. Would like to do more—will see.

Yippee! Almost a habit! Now that is a great thought.

i'm just jumping in, haven't been here but AEG sent me this way!!

Thanks AEG:teeth:

Sounds like everyone is having a great, active wednesday!!!

well, i wanted to add my contract in...
i cannot make the no eating after 7:00, i get close but just can't quite make it yet.
**however, i plan on drinking at least 4 16fl OZ bottles of water a day. ( i really need to work on this!)
**and i plan on working out at least 4 days a week. when nicer weather hits and i can run in the morning, i will switch to 5 days a week. (that way i can take my son running with the jogging stroller and not feel guilty about being gone all day and then leaving at night also!!)
**tonight i'm off to the gym for bootcamp for an hour!!

I have been stuck at 155 for the past 3 weeks. i weigh in saturday morning and i'm really hoping i've made progress!!!

i'll keep checking in!

Keep on making things happen...you are all wonderful!!
:sunny:

got my hour in this AM by doing the 4 mile WATP and tonight my reward was my "freebie" massage and I was right, this one felt sooooooooooo good - I'm sure it was because it was the "free" one from my buy one get one free ;)

Evansmom - so glad you responded to the invitation - we know you are busy busy busy but you are doing yourself, that sweet little Evan and that cutie of a hubby a favor too, by being fit - cause when mamma is fit and healthy - then everybody is happy!

There are no rules for your committment on this thread - it's whatever you tell us you can do - goes!

Now, remind me, are you training for another "flying pig" (her avatar, too) marathon to be held in May? Are you part of a team that is running? if so, how far will you go?

I'll bet Evan can't wait for warmer weather too - surely he will like a ride in the running stroller!

Sending PD for your WI and stop back (when you can) and let us know that you fulfilled your committment and what your next one will be!

Tomorrow I plan to meet Denise Austin early and doing her tape with the exercise ball and after work is my weight class - so all that adds up to my committment of 1 hour of exercise for the day!

I'm off to sign in on the weekly WI thread - with this committment stuff I am happy to announce I am down .5 today at WI :teeth:

Contgratulations everyone as you continue your successful week of committments !

I did the FIRM Maximum Cardio Burn and ran up and down the stairs 7 times. Great job everyone for getting your "time" in!

Welcome Evansmom!

Good morning everyone, I just had to share my excitement. I woke up sore this morning. Probably from doing The FIRM two days in a row. I tried something new, they say your supposed to not do sculpting and weight training back to back, but that you can do cardio in between. So I did the 60 minute Cardio tape that I have. Its pretty hard, but WATP's feels too easy, so I thought it might do better to actually make me sweat. It does that for sure.

So this morning I woke up a little sore, and very tired. I was dreading getting out of bed. So I trudged out of my bed to do my morning weight in. Now for weeks and even months, that darn thing has been stuck in the 140's. Mostly between 142-144. It goes up and down so often between those numbers that its depressing. I felt that it was never going to move. Every week I do well with eating the right amount in the points. I have even tried doing different things to see if anything would make it move. Nothing, Nada!

Well, this morning my scale said 139.6. I almost fainted. Could this be the break of a platuau? Could this exercise be just what I needed to boost my metabolism to loose? I never went down in points to what you are supposed to when you hit the 140's, because I am stubborn and really want to do it eating more food. I don't want my metabolism to get used to eating too little. I really am ok with loosing slowly, but it was getting depressing. I guess the weekend will tell if I can hold on to this loss. It may dissapear tomorrow, but just knowing that my scale actually said those numbers when it has not in YEARS, gives me hope.

I hope everyone has a terrific Thursday. It's almost Friday. This is our 3rd week of exercise and we are all doing terrific.

I am going to do The FIRM Complete Aerobics and Weight Training tonight. I have a 4 cups of water sitting on my desk at the moment. My goal is to get it down before lunch. Off to chug a cup!

Good Thursday morning everyone and welcome evansmom! :sunny: How are all you WISHers today? I'm so glad to see how many of you got in your workouts yesterday--WE RULE! :cool1: I just got done doing 4 Mile WATP. I'm nursing a sore elbow so I'm laying off the weights until at least Monday, and sticking to just cardio. Tammy, I do think it's an exercise injury--I felt it start to pinch while I was doing bicep curls the other day, but of course I pushed it and now I'm paying the price. Kids, don't push yourself if you're feeling pain! WATP doesn't really make me sweat that much so when I did it today I jogged in place when she marched (walked), made the kicks and leg lifts higher impact, and used exaggerated arm movements. Let me tell you, by the middle of mile 2, my hair and shirt were literally drenched with sweat and my heart rate was at the high end of my target zone. Of course I walked the cool down, and did an extra long and deep stretch. I really felt like I got a GREAT cardio workout just by pumping it up a little bit.

I've continued to eat well, and not eat past 7pm (thanks again, Bev!). You guys have just been THE BEST in helping me stay jazzed about doing the right things for my body! Have a great day WISHers, and keep up the amazing work! :grouphug:

Here's an update on how I'm sticking to my plan. I've done pilates 2x, weights 2x and walking 2x. I definitely think I'll make my goal for the week.

UGH!!!!! i have gotten 2 workouts in this week so far...2 more are necessary, BUT we are planning on moving over the next 4 days and i'm nervous about when to fit it in! i have to find the time!!!!

also AEG has been filling me in on activity points. i understand that 60 minutes moderate is 3 points and 60 minutes high is 8 points...but what constitutes moderate and high????

if i teach a 60 minute high intensity Step and toning class is that moderate or high??? i would assume 60 minutes running would be high, but i'm not sure how to rate the class, or the eliptical machine and lifting weights.
i don't want to give myself too many points, nor do i want to eat too little!!!!

Also, another side note...just so i can check in...we are doing a weight loss contest at my school. that began december 20th. i had my weigh in today for that...i have lost 11 pounds since then, so it seems like that would make 10 pounds lost since i started WW and my new committments on january 5th. YEA!!!!!!
:Pinkbounc

i will have my WI at home this weekend so i will make sure all is adding up between the 2 scales...none the less I HAVE LOST 11 POUNDS SINCE DEC. 20TH!!!!!
i am now moving down again!!!!

AEG...i guess i broke that 5 pounds plateau!!!!!!!!:bounce:

off to drink more H2O...have a great thursday!!!!!!!

AEG
i forgot to add....
i am planning on doing SOMETHING in the "flying pig"
either 1/4th or 1/2. kelly was going to be 1 leg and dad was going to be 1 leg and i was going to do the other 1/2, but now with kelly's C-section, i don't know if that will be in her future this year...so i may have to find a new configuration!!!!!
