WISH Chatters Committment Week 3

OH OK--I just got back from the gym where DH and I did our machine weight workout and a little "track walk" to add to the mix.

I was only able to get in the Pilates yesterday. Got home very late and just couldn't get myself to TM as I think I've said once or twice before I just don't enjoy TM so any excuse. But really it ws about 10:30 when I could finally get to thinking about TM then DH came home from work and we had a bit of a family chat. Too late for my tired self last night.

evansmom, You go! Sounds like you've got a great grasp on things. You can certainly be an inspiration.

Will try to keep doing somehting. Thanks all.

I was able to walk a mile today, and I did pretty well with eating and water intake. I finally received/tried my La Tortilla wraps today...we had burritos...Yum!

Hey everyone,

I just got done doing the FIRM Compelete Aerobics and Weight Training. I also ran up and down the stairs 5 times. It seems like I am doing less and less as time goes on (the running up and down the stairs. I thought that I should be able to increase, lol!).

Evens Mom,
Your AE points are also based on your weight. I have a great PDA program that I can figure out how many points (down to the exact number, like 2.8. I round up or down) you get based on your weight. Let me know if you need me to figure something out. I think for Moderate or heavy, its based on how you feel. Heavy would be that you can't talk and your heart rate is really up. Let me look tomorrow or this weekend and see if I have a pamplet from the week that they intro the Activity points. It may explain it better. I will let you know.

Tigerlily, sounds like you had a great workout.

Twinsmom, glad you got your latortilla's! Bet you were excited. Great job exercising.

Honeymo- Great job on keeping on track. You are doing great!

LMD's - The 4 mile is a great workout. Definately rest your elbow, and I hope it gets better soon!

are doing so good!

Melaniec - no stopping you when you see that number going down - we can "feel" your motivation now!! WTG - I am sure it is the breakthru - woohoo!

Evansmom - good for you too! 11 lbs down and a contest - oh goodie - now what's the prize? We already know you are a "winner" just cause you are healthier - but keep us informed to the progress in the contest too! Broke the plateau - knew you would - and I bet moving would count as a workout if that is just the way it happens!

Good going everyone for getting it done!

I did my hour too. Melaniec - I am slowing down on my stair climbing too - what's up with that - I thought I should get better - I am huffing and puffing at the 5th floor with 3 flights left to go.

I didn't forget about you all, things around here went a little crazy yesterday. We had homeschool group co-op yesterday and then they started calling for 2-4 inches of snow for yesterday morning. Well, we get up and it's not snowing but raining and sleeting some. The phone started ringing, someone was sick then one Mom didn't feel comfortable coming because she has a couple of her children in school and was afraid they may call school off and she wouldn't know it. So my treadmilling didn't happen early and then it just didn't happen at all. I really don't have any reason except that I was lazy by the time we finally got home.

I also didn't eat breakfast yesterday because of all of the confusion, but am committing to eating it this morning.

I am also getting on the treadmill this morning.

tw1nsmom-I truly understand the part of not having as much time for yourself as you'd like. That is why if I truly don't get it done in the morning time then it isn't going to happen. Glad to hear you got your exercise in and your wraps were delivered. Burritos sound very good to me.

Tiger Lily 03-Your exercising sounds great. It is great that you are going to the gym with your DH. I'm sure that helps in keeping you on track with that plan. Some people just aren't TM people. I wish that I had a good place to walk with the children close by and I'd pass on mine too, but I am learning to love my TM again.

evansmom-I'm so glad that you have joined us. Your contract looks great and I'm sending you major PD :wizard: for a great WI on Saturday. I understand exactly about being stalled and it isn't any fun. Hopefully you'll be jumping for joy on Saturday. Way to go on your loss since December, what a nice friendly challenge at work. Good luck with your move and I'm sure you'll be fitting in some exercise over the weekend. Lifting boxes and moving furniture has got to count for something, right?::yes::

AEG-I hope you enjoyed your massage the other night, how wonderful that must have been and a great reward to yourself. Congratulations on being down .5 this week, way to go. Keep up the great work.

Mel-Stair climbing, boy that's work isn't it? Thanks for sharing your exciting news, I am so happy for you and yes, I bet you have broken through and you'll be onward and downward now as they say.

LMD-Sorry to hear that you think it is an exercise injury and that is a great reminder to us all that we need to listen to our bodies. I hope that you are feeling better real soon.

Honey-Great job on sticking to your plan and meeting your committment. I'm proud of you.::yes::

OK, if I'm going to get my day started, I have to finish up on the computer:( . I hope that you all have a wonderful Friday and we all get the exercise in that we want, our H20 in our body and keep a smile:D on our face. PD to you all.

Hi everybody! Ugh! What a night! My ds8 woke up about 2am, coughing like a madman with a 103 fever. (Why always the middle of the night?!). Got him to the Dr. early this morning and he's on antibiotics for bronchitis. He's now sleeping off the codeine-laced cough medicine (I could use some of that!). I'm sure all you parents know what it's like to be up all night with a sick child--there was mucous flying everywhere!:crazy2: After we got home and he fell asleep, I did Firm's Maximum Cardio Burn which I just got yesterday. It's mostly high cardio with some very light weights for resistance. It always takes me a few times to get used to a new video--I was tripping all over my own feet!:duck: Tomorrow I'll be doing another all-cardio, either WATP 4 Mile or the tape I did today--it was a lot of fun and I really want to try to get the steps down. I'm so sorry to ramble and whine, I think I'm just loopy from the lack of sleep! I'm headed for the shower and then for a nap myself. I'm continued to be inspired by each and every one of you--a big congratulations to all who got moving, and big hugs to everyone!

here's to a great weekend for everyone!!

i will be moving, but will squeeze in a run tomorrow morning before taking evan to swim lessons!!!
and very happy to say i have done very well with eating this week. i just need to keep it up over the weekend!

luvmydogs: hope everyone is feeling better in your home...and getting some sleep!!! those nights are NO FUN!!!!

hope you all get some GREAT workouts in this weekend!
feels good :teeth:

Hey everyone,

Well I really didn't think I was going to get to exercise today. I came home and DH was ready to head out the door and I had to follow him to pick him up at the service center. Then he took me out to dinner for Valentines day. That was over an hour wait plus the time for dinner and the 30 minutes each way. It was about 930 pm when we got home. I did manage to do the FIRM Cardio Sculpt Blaster which is a 35 min tape. It was my first time doing it. I was a little lost here and there, but overall it wasn't too bad. I think I must be getting used to some of the FIRM moves. YEAH.

Evansmom- GOod luck on the eating this weekend. Glad you have done well all week. Keep up the great work!

LMD's- Hope you son gets better soon. That Maximum Cardio burn is a killer, but gets easier as you get used to it. I tried Cardio Sculpt blaster tonight. First time using it. Was a little lost, but there were quit a few steps I picked up right away even easier than on the other videos. Hopefully soon I will learn all the moves and increase my speed doing them so I am not lost and behind! I think I may order the new FIRM BSS3 that is about to come out. Not sure since I haven't gotten these steps down yet, but I just love the FIRM so much and am excited to get more videos. I may even by the original FIRM BSS that is at Walmart for $35 for a 3 DVD set. I can honestly say that in the fall I started to see results and stopped exercising, and since I started exercising 3 weeks ago, in the last few days I am definately seeing results from the FIRM. It so amazes me, and I have never found a workout that I actually look forward to, LOL!

Tammy, we missed you, but I knew you must be busy. Hope your eating breakfast is going well. The stairs thing is really a killer, but I am doing it to add endurance for the 1/2 marathon. I figure if I do it most days of the week till the race, it has to give me a little extra endurance. I can use all I can get.

Well night all, for some reason my throat is starting to hurt. Wish me pixie dust that I am not coming down with something. I had some really bad news last night from my mom about something tragic that happened to my family, and its brought up a lot of stuff that you try to repress. I actually had two anxiety attacks this morning thinking about it. Hopefully this stress isn't going to make me get sick.

Great job everyone. I did manage to get my 30 min on the treadmill in yesterday. I also ate my bowl of grits. I didn't drink enough H20, but will work on that today. I hope that you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day and stay OP as best as possible.

I'm getting ready to hit the TM in just a few minutes. Slower start to the day with it being a Saturday, but that's OK.

Whew that sounds sooooo wonderful and it's legal even - Sunday is my day off!!

Walked 8 miles this AM in 2 hours so that's 15 mi miles, I am happy about that. I was starving tho by the time I was done! We went out to dinner last night but it was Chinese and I had shrimp and veggies, a little rice, so well within plan.

Good going everyone, hope that you can stay OP for the weekend and have a good Valentine's day with your sweeties ;)

Melaniec - sending PD your way for feeling better and hoping that the situation improves - take deep breathes now and then.

LMD - hope you son is better and you are getting some rest too.

We haven't seen ohMom for a couple of days but she said that she is exercising and busy!

Evansmom - hope that the move goes well and can't wait to hear how you progressed with WI

Stay committed everyone - don't let the weekend take away all the hard work that you have done all week!

Hi everybody and Happy Valentine's Day! Congrats to all those who got their workouts in! Alreadyexcitedgrammy--thanks for the update on ohMom--I've wondered where she's been! OhMom--Luvdoggies misses hearing from you!!!

MelanieC--I'm sorry to hear that you've had some upsetting news... You are in my thoughts and prayers--I'm hoping you find the strength and peace you and your family need during this time. I'm also thinking of buying the new BSS3. I'm waiting for some of the reviews to come out on VideoFitness, Collage and The Firm Ya Yas. I'm also researching a few more Firm cardio options along with Slim Series and Cathe Friedrich. I really love the Firm too--you can catch a preview of the new infomercial on www.firmdirect.com . It's supposed to start airing on Feb. 23! Once again, I'll be thinking of you and sending many prayers your way. God Bless. (Edited to add: Firm Ya Yas are saying BSS3 infomercial is running on Lifetime TV in early am. There seems to be trouble with the pricing--one informercial states 3 payments of $29.95, another viewing of same infomo. at different time states 2 payments of $29.95--two different 1-800 numbers on two infomo's. Causing a big uproar on VideoFitness board. I think I'll wait until I know more. Just thought I'd let you know, Melanie!)

Evansmom--It sounds like you're working so hard and doing GREAT! Hope Evan liked his swimming lessons. My son started taking them at age 3 and became a fish! Keep up your awesome work!

Tammy--You continue to impress me with your dedication to your exercise and eating program! Is the treadmill your favorite form of exercise? I guess it's very convenient since you can get in some good mileage without worrying about the weather! You are doing such a terrific job!

Bev--15 miles!!! You are soooooo amazing, girlfriend! I hope you are proud of yourself 'cause WE SURE ARE! I've told you before, and I'll say it again today: YOU ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION to me! And yummm...your post has made me hungry for vegetable lo mein!

Sunday is supposed to be my rest day, but after staying up with my phlegm-spewing sick ds8 again last night, I decided to take a break today so we could snuggle in bed and watch videos all day.:) At his age, he's usually "too cool" to snuggle anymore, so I have to take it when I can! He started perking up a few hours ago, and his fever is down a bit, so I guess the antibiotics are kicking in. I appreciate all the kind thoughts and words, everyone. We almost lost him to bacterial menengitis when he was 3, and I still get so very worried when he gets this sick. I am annoyingly neurotic about his health!

I've gotten enough rest to be psyched about exercising tomorrow! I actually missed doing it today and I'm glad I felt like this:) It's because of all you WISHers that I'm so pumped to stay committed, and I thank you over and over! Have a great night everyone and see you at check-in tomorrow! Keep on keepin' on everybody--we are jammin'!!!:cool1:

Good Sunday morning everyone. I hope that everyone had a great Valentine's Day. DH & I got to go out to a dinner and movie which was a special treat for us.

AEG-Great job on your miles and minutes yesterday. You impress me on that ya know! Thanks for letting us know about ohmom, I'm glad that she isn't sick or anything. I understand the busy part.

LMD-I hope DS is feeling better today and I don't blame you for getting that snuggle time in with him. I also understand about being protective when they are sick (or really anytime). I can't say that the TM is my favorite, I would much rather walk outdoors. We don't live in a neighborhood where you can get out and just walk the road. There is a park up the street, but I can't take the kids because there isn't a way for me to see them while they are playing and I'm walking. I can only do that if DH is around to watch them. So I use the TM because it really is my best way to get my exercise in. I at one time was "In Love" with it and truly missed it if something happened and I couldn't fit it it. That is were I want to be again and I am getting there. I am going to enjoy my Sunday off and watch the race with DH.

I got my treadmilling in yesterday and was thankful that I get today off. I am so proud of everyone making their committments and then checking in.

Who all will be able to pop in for chat time tomorrow? I'm planning on being there for at least a little while. Keep up the great work everyone and let us know how you're doing.

I am committing today to get my H2O in and to count my points very carefully today.:wave2:

Hi everyone! Hope you all have enjoyed your weekend--can you believe Monday's almost here? My dh and ds have off tomorrow, and I alternate between happy and annoyed at this. Happy because we get to spend more time together, but annoyed because I have a lot of work around the house to get done, and I just know they'll be under my feet the whole time. Taking ds to see "Miracle" tomorrow, he's feeling TONS better, so it will be nice getting out of the house with him.

Great on getting your walking in yesterday, Tammy, and I bet you really enjoyed your night out with dh! I think we all need some Couples-Only Time! Glad you had a Happy Valentine's Day, and enjoy your day off today!

I took off yesterday to hang with my ds who was getting over bronchitis. We watched lots of videos, and I let him have a soda (a usual no-no for him)! I think he was really milking this being sick thing for all it was worth! I plan on Sunday being my usual rest day, but since I took off yesterday, I did Maximum Cardio Burn this morning. I couldn't believe that when I woke up I was actually looking forward to working out! I was babying a sore elbow for the last few days but it feels great today, so I'm committing to some heavy weight work with Firm's Complete Aerobics & Weight training video tomorrow. I'll also keep on eating well and not eating after 7pm. Things have been going great for me WISHers, and it's all because of you! I hope to be in chat tomorrow night, even if it's just for a little bit. Thanks so much you guys, and let's all keep up the GREAT work we're doing! WE RULE!!!:cool1:

Hi all!
I haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd catch up on reporting my progress.
Thursday: walked for 1/2 hour
Friday:walked for 1 hour
Saturday: rode exercise bike for 50 minutes
Today: So far have ridden bike for 30 minutes, but hope to exercise again later.

I've done really well staying OP. Yesterday I took DD & DS to Ruby Tuesdays for a valentine lunch (DH had mild food poisoning from his lunch on friday, so he couldn't come...that was "fun") I really liked the Tilapia and creamed spinach, but I make better mashed cauliflower and low carb cheesecake. So, while I ate food that was allowable for my WOE, I ate too much of it. What I had would never have filled me up before, but my appetite has really diminished on this eating plan.

I plan on stopping in at chat tommorrow night for a little while if I can.

Oh BTW, my big accomplishment for the week was that DS is now potty trained. :Pinkbounc

Hey everyone,

Well thank goodness I didn't get sick. I had a sore throat friday night, and really thought it was coming. Took some nitequill and it was gone the next day.

Saturday I did the FIRM Total Sculpt plus abs. I even moved up to an 8 pound weight on a few moves. Whoo hoo I am getting stronger.
Today, is supposed to be my rest day but I felt good and I am home all day so I did a cardio tape- The FIRM Cardio Sculpt blaster without any weights. I also did the ab portion of the FIRM Complete Aerobics and Weight Training. I am going to make sure I get an ab workout each day, since I heard you could do 10 minutes of abs per day without overtraining them.

tw1nsmom- great job on getting your exercise in. Sorry to hear DH was sick and had to miss your lunch. Sounds like you did great there!

Kim- Glad your elbow is feeling better. Isn't that such a riot when you get excited about exercise? Hope your son is feeling better. They really do know how to milk it for all it's worth though!
I broke down and bought the BSS3 last night off the FIRMDirect web site. I ordered the one with 2 extra DVD's and another sculpting stick. It might be nice to have a back up stick, I really enjoy using it. I also am going to order a few more tapes this week. I need some variety, my 4 dvd's are great, but I want some more variety and really get my muscles guessing!

Tammy- I bet you and DH had a wonderful time. Don't you love Rest day. I usually do too, still can't figure out what possesed me to do a tape today. It was a short tape and I didn't use any tapes so it was pretty easy.

Bev, you just amaze me. Look at the miles you are getting in. You rock!! Can't wait to get my treadmill so I can get some miles in. DH GET THE BASEMENT DONE!! Isn't it true how a weekend can ruin all the hard work that you have done.

Well I will definately be at chat tomorrow. I am off tomorrow and really excited to be able to exercise during the day, and slowly get ready for WI tomorrow night. I have a feeling I will have a very nice loss this week. Not sure if I can pull off having my official loss being in the 130's, but darn it should be close. It depends on what I wake up and weigh. Either way, I should definately get past that 142 I have been trying to break.

Keep up the great work everyone, we are doing so great. Just think we are about to start week 4! I can already see a difference in my body since I started exercising.

Good morning-

It sounds like everyone is doing well now and following their committment. This is going to be short, the kids want to get school done so they can go out and play in the snow. If it looks like it's going to start melting, we'll stop with school, go play and then come back in and finish.

My plan is to try the walk a mile tape today. I haven't used it in a very LONG time and thought it might be nice to give it a try. I'm hearing so many good things about the tape workouts. I am also going to eat breakfast, drink plenty of H2O and not eat after 9pm. I know 9 instead of 7, but right now that is more reasonable for me.

Hoping to see you all in chat tonight, shouldn't be a problem since DD doesn't have piano due to holiday and DS doesn't have Scouts due to the weather.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning everyone! I did Complete Aerobics & Weight Training this morning. I hadn't done weight work in a while because of a sore elbow, so it was great to get back to the heavy stuff today! Have a great Monday all you WISHers, and I'll hopefully see you in chat tonight!:wave2:

Here's my report for the week. I walked 3 days, did weights 4 days and did pilates 2 days. The only thing I fell short on was the pilates - I had committed to doing it 3x. I'm going to work hard this week on getting all my exercise in. It will be tough b/c my best friend will be visiting this weekend but I'll try really hard.

I am off today, feels nice being home on a Monday. I did the FIRM Maximum Cardio burn plus abs. I finished lunch and ate my afternoon snack with it so that everything can digest by WI tonight. I won't get to eat till later tonight, so I can't finish eating by 7pm. I have done well with that most of the week though. Only two days I didn't was Monday (WI) and Friday (DH took me out after work, and there was an hour wait).

Great job everyone, see you in chat.

But yes, I did my hours worth of exercise. I walked while watching Dr. Phil. At commercials, I would pick up the remote to fast forward and then remember I had to watch them -definately like having a tape in better ;)

But the rest of the day has just been an "I'll do that later" type one - did a sneak WI this morning and liked the number I saw so that is a definate plus to keep me on track today!

Tammy - snow your way - guess I can't complain about the cold here - hope your kidos had fun!

Luvmydogs - have you ever posted pictures for us on the board? would love to "meet you in person"! If you "nose around" you will see the rest of us - please post if you can - of course we like
before and afters if you are up to that - but if not after is just fine - and well include that sweet DS too!

I am going to have to reread all about the exercising videos that lmds and Melaniec were talking about - you guys sound serious!

And lmds - I only went 8 miles Sat. - I notice you are from GA two years ago I did the Peachtree in Atlanta and loved doing that - have you?- well you are in shape for that, are you close to Atlanta? It is really fun!

I'll tell ohMom she is missed and check in soon.

Hope to see you tonight at chat!
