Wish Capacities?

I have been wondering if they booked the Wish to full capacity for the available sailings?

We have a b2b booked and the 4 night is sold out and the 3 night is not. Just curious what they will do if they still can't sail at full capacity and the ship is sold out?

I rather imagine they've only "sold out" to the capacity limits currently in force. But I could be wrong.

My guess is if restrictions & requirements (mainly shots) are required then it’ll naturally work itself out..

There isn’t necessarily a ‘capacity’ more a current lack of demand that’s keeping things where they are.

I believe the UK sailings required some sailings to have fewer passengers than had already booked. They offered huge incentives specifically to guests already booked to persuede some guests to change to a different sailing. This is a bit fuzzy for me since it didn't really apply to us here in the US. You could probably search for those threads.

I did hear that about UK sailings. Staff onboard ships have been reporting that they were limited to 50% and then would increase to 70% for the holidays and beyond. Wish there was a way to know if the Wish was booked at those same capacities!

I don't believe the US has any mandated capacity limits like the UK did. The UK had set a date to lower those limits (increase capacity) and then pushed that out -- that's why DCL had to offer something for cancellations on a few specific sailings. Any US limits are either set by the cruiseline, or were simply low-demand cruises moreso than an imposed capacity limit.

I suspect the WISH was sold at or near full capacity; possibly holding some back from public bookings that will be used for promotions or high-level employees, employee discounts, etc. Such could could be easily adjusted to increase or reduce capacity if needed. If there are still virus-related restrictions and/or precautions in place six months from now there may well be some "natural" cancellations from those who simply choose not to cruise with such conditions, possibly enough that DCL would sail with the remaining paid passenger volume. It's expected the Dream and Fantasy may be 75% capacity next week, and those cruises aren't listed as "sold out" yet so presumably DCL is willing to go higher capacity than that.

If folks are looking for a "buy-out" offer, it's way to far in advance to even consider that.
