Hi all!! I remember reading about a small wireless router you can hook up to your free (DVC) internet, so you can run your computers wirelessly in your room. I'm interested in finding the smallest EASIEST (I'm so not a geek) one to buy. Any help please?

TIA!!

I use a LinkSys WRT54GC Wireless G Broadband Router and have never had any problem with the Disney broadband system over the last several years.

I have a router at home that all the computers have been set up to use. I just unplug it and bring it with us. Since it has been set up to be used with our laptops already, we just plug it in an we are good to go.

D Link- recommended here. Found on amazon. Prize is reasonable/ portable. My husband bought it for me for our upcoming trip- will pack well in suitcase.

Ditto for us. We use our Netgear router from home so no need to set it up. Plug it in and get on the DISboards!!

If you do purchase a wireless router for use in the room, I would recommend you setup it up at home and make sure all devices you intend to use with it can connect before you travel.

Another vote for the Apple Airport Express.. They are so small and work great! We now have an Apple Airport Extreme in our owner's locker so we don't have to do anything other than plug it in when we get there. Everything works and our computers connect to it automatically.

I had to get a new router for the house, as a power surge killed my other one. I bought a linksys/cisco Valet Plus. I never had a router that is so easy to set up. No need to connect a cord from your computer to router for set up, and no set up CD. It uses a USB flash drive and sets up wirelessly.

Another vote for the Airport Express. You can pick up a refurb at the apple store on line and save about $20.

I also use Airport Express. I don't leave it in my Owner's Locker, however, because I use it other places as well. Because it is only about 4 inches square and 1 inch thick, it is really no problem to pack, even when we only bring carry-on.

I have a linksys. Honestly, all of them are very easy to set up now.

You have to remember, most consumer computer products are designed for the most amount of people possible to be able to easily set it up. Nowadays, they all have very easy setup procedures.

That size is enormous compared to the D-Link, which also costs much less the Airport Express. The D-Link is about half an inch thick and and inch and a half wide.

We use the trendnet wireless travel router. It was around $50 on Amazon and super easy to set up.

Yes, but where the Airport Express wins for me is that there are NO cables to store. The power is built in. The popular D-Link is a good deal, but it has a separate power cord and I assume most users store it in the case, which makes it no different overall than the AE (probably larger, though the difference is hardly a big deal - both are small enough that they can pretty much tuck in anywhere in a suitcase or Owner's Locker. The no cables thing is convenient at Disney, but when I'm traveling for work it's a big deal because everything else requires a cable of some sort!

I have the d-link travel router...it is tiny. Is that what you have? I love that it comes with a case to store everything in. I usually put it inside my DH's fanny pack in the suitcase so we know where it is.
