Has anyone used the wireless access points at the Fort instead of the "the box"? Is is slow? Does it bump you off if too many are using it? Gonna need to pay some bills and I don't really want to have to "rent" the box! I read that there are three access points in the Fort. Just wondering about your experiences with it!

Unless you find someone who has an unsecured WiFi router in their camper you will have to pay for Disney's hot spots. The cost is the same as renting a "box"

The box is FREE you just have to $9.95 for 24hrs. You can go to TE here is a Hot Spot there but it $5.00 for 1 hr of usage

There is a refundable deposit for the modem kit. If you're going to pay $9.95 + tax, you might as well sit in comfort at your site and use it to your heart's content for 24 hours. Unless you go to the "internet cafe" at the check in building or another resort, you're going to sit out in the weather at the Meadow or Settlement Wi-Fi spots. Either way, the internet is high-speed, and I had no problems with being bumped off. IIRC, the deposit was $125, and refunded when you turn the modem kit back in. We tried using our own modem, but no go. You have to get their kit if you want to access the internet from your site.

We're at the Fort enough, that we finally bought a netbook with minimum usage (250 Mbs) for $39/month. I'm using it right now on our home wireless network which by-passes the VZ Wireless network. Just another option to consider.
