Winter Olympics No Video Thread

Too much controversy in the Olympics. Honestly, I think the 1984 games were the last I watched any of.

We got Peacock this year to try it out with the Olympics. In the past we would just record everything we could but it does eventually become a frustrating process so we thought let's at least try out Peacock.

We're watching the mixed doubles curling red robin replays right now. I think some training for some skiing and luge was also today?

There's quite a lot of the sports I like. This is what I said on a different thread "figure skating, curling, Luge, bobsled, skeleton, ski jumping, sometimes the cross country skiing (but not normally a lot of it), the speed skating. I'll watch some of the snow boarding but I don't really follow it super close it can be cool to see highlights of specific runs though."

I doubt it's a spoiler at this point but they had an "energy" issue that affected both the curling and the luge causing a dimming of lights which paused the session on curling; I haven't watched the luge yet to know if that happened there too meaning the pause. That isn't something I have really thought about like a power grid issue or strain to it with the snowfall. It was noticeable when watching curling that the lights dimmed.

I am so excited for the women's figure skating!
Just like gymnastics it's amazing the technicality that goes into figure skating. I do think the music, when done well, gets people a bit more emotionally invested with figure skating compared to gymnastics and adds to their performance. Get chills with certain routines that's for sure.

Caused a short delay at curling, I believe.

I know there's always controversy surrounding the games, but the Norwegian men's ski jumping uniforms is something different. Not sure if it's o.k. to get into the specifics on the DIS, so Google is our friend.

They have some suspensions over their uniforms leading into the Olympics. Not sure what the status is now. I think three skiers served suspension earlier in the season while some staff are still suspended.

DH LOVES curling, so I'll be sure to let him know.

I do enjoy figure skating, even with all of the controversies. Beyond that, I like so much that's part of the winter games. Luge, bobsled and ski jump were my childhood favorites. Nowadays, I also like all of the ski and snowboarding events that involve all of the fun aerial maneuvers as well as snow/ski cross (I think that's what it's called). Every now and then, I also really enjoy speed skating.

Snow cross and ski cross are very fun to watch.

I’ll watch the opening ceremony and some sports.
The opening and closing ceremonies are usually really cool to watch. You get a slice of their culture of the host country. Some years I've been a bit less interested than in others or maybe more confused could be the description but none the less both are great to tune into.

What is your favorite music... movie soundtracks.... classical... combinations...pop/rock combos.... I prefer movie soundtracks if I recognize the movie and how skater interact with the theme.... MacArthur Park is fun and with her interviews....it now makes sense...as I don't remember her as young skater
