Just after some advice from those of you who have taken toddlers to DLP in the winter. We're going 20th - 23rd Nov and taking our son who is almost 3. What is the best sort of clothing for him to wear? I'm a bit concerned that if it's quite cold his jeans which he would normally wear won't be warm enough for him. Can you buy thermals for toddlers? I've got plenty of warm jumpers and coats so he's ok for the top half, its just his bottom half I'm worried about. What about thermal socks, will he need those and will trainers be ok or would we be better trying to get him some little boots?

Sorry for all the questions, it's just dawned on me we're going in 4 weeks so I'd better get organised.

Thanks in advance

We took DD at this time when she was 3. We got her some thermals from Marks and Spencer and some of those really thick socks you can buy: I think they were GAP. If you can't find those you could put 2 pairs on him! I ummed and ahhed about boots but she ended up wearing trainers in the end and was fine. As long as he's got lots of layers on + scarf, hat, gloves etc he should be fine.
I did take a pushchair for her though with a Buggy Snuggle and blanket for if she got cold.

awww great thread, i was just thinking this myself as DD will be 2 when i go in jan, least i know where to get thermals for little uns now lol. My mum has got her some ugg type boots from next aswell plus trainers. I guess with girls its easier cus u can always put tights under there trousers etc.

Thanks Sarah that's good advice. I'll have a look in Marks and Spencer for the thermals and also some socks. Just been in Next and got him a lovely hat with bits to cover his ears but I also spotted a balaclava so may get him one of those as not sure if he'll keep a scarf on! I also tried some boots on him but they were so clompy I knew he would be uncomfortable in them so think we'll stick with the trainers.

Thanks again

DD had a very cosy all in once ski suit type affair which kept her nice and warm.
As children are sitting in buggy the suggestion of a blanket is a good one :goodvibes

You can also buy thermal long johns at M & S - and probably other places as well - which you could pack just in case he wasn't warm enough in his jeans :)

Ski suits!!!:rotfl: I'm not even kidding..got one for myself for Jan cause we saw loads of people wearing them last Jan.....my one looks a bit retro though:rotfl: Think I might risk the frost bite and wear jeans!!:rotfl2:

Hi We always go in November and have to say it is very cold. My son was always fine in jeans, thick jumper, vest, thick coat, scarf, gloves, hat. As someone said we always had a blanket for the buggy because it was when he had a rest from running around with excitement and sat down for 5 mins when he got cold.

We took a ski suit and thermal long johns and a thermal vest for DD last Jan and alternated what she wore.:goodvibes

Not sure if a link to the website is allowed, but if you look on Aldi's site they have thermals in their special offers from tomorrow. :)
There are times when we've been when I would've killed for a ski suit for myself. :)
My boys have some Arctice fleece trousers, they look just like jogging bottoms, they said they were extremely warm. I got those on Ebay.

Hi
We went in January last year and I got salopettes off ebay.

Apart from that we had the usual gloves hats and scarfs.

Layer up really well....vests ,t shirts.long sleeved tops and jumpers because when you go into restaurants it can be quite warm and it is nice to be able to take a layer or two off
