Trying to do a little research and planning....we travel to Orlando next January, and currently, Westjet have the only direct flight at $705 per person. United Airlines has a stop in Chicago, at $464.
Two questions really - as there is only one direct flight on Westjet 3 times per week - is their current price likely to go up or down? I know it's still very early in the game, but I would imagine those seats will be in higher demand than any others. Would I be correct in thinking the price is only likely to go up, not down?
Also, is United in trouble? I thought I'd read that they filed for bankruptcy - their current pricing is far cheaper than their competitors and I know that this is as cheap as we will find. I'm afraid to book and have them go under.
And to be honest, I'm willing to pay more to fly direct - if I could get westjet at $600, I'd grab them. Am I likely to see that price with Westjet?
