Winkflash pics too dark?

Has anyone ever gotten an order back from Winkflash and had the photos be kind of dark? I had a large order printed (about $16) and that was with a code so I got the pics for 6 cents each. They all just seemed like the color was kind of dingy. This was our first time to ever make prints from DD's new digital camera so I didn't know if it was the camera or what.

Just to compare I had about 10 of the same pics printed at Wal-Mart and there was a noticeable difference in the brightness/color. Just wondering if anyone else had ever had this result from Winkflash? I'm disappointed because the convenience and price was great, but not the quality, especially if I go now and pay to have them reprinted at Wal-Mart.

Never, infact winkflash has always had much brighter and better color then walmart. I stopped using walmark because I felt the colors were washed out and always had great luck with winkflash. However I haven't ordered any prints for a few months. I keep doing the mypuplisher books since I never get around to srapbooking.

Sorry to hear that. My friend likes photoworks, they are currenlty having a sale. I like that winkflash has matt finish.

Disneyphd - I had the opposite effect - I stopped using Winkflash because the colors were so off - The reds were way too bright and it just wasn't right - (on the order I received)

I started using Walmart - Great Photos, matte finish - Not a problem -

I have heard before that it is all about the person running the photo print machine - You could have the same machine, but depending on who is running it - you can get two diffent kinds of photos -

The walmart by me prints really good photos - and now at $ .12/ea - I just love it!

Karen, our WM is .19 cents per picture. I wish ours was .12!

BTW the picture of your daughter is adorable!

Liz,
My first and only Winkflash pics were also dark and disappointing. Maybe the same person was running the machine!

Oh my! I just placed an order. I have used Winkflash before and have had nothing but good results. Has anyone mentioned this to Winkflash?

I used Winkflash for the first time a few weeks ago for over 100 pictures and have to agree they are really dark. I am very disappointed and am tempted to go have some of them redone (Had others done at CVS and Walmart and both of those sets look awesome)

Liz - If you go to walmart.com - upload your photos (like winkflash) and order them online, you can get them for $ .12/each (if you choose to pick them up in about 2-3 days - or you can have them shipped to you - not sure of the shipping costs) If you want them right away, then it is $ .19/each -

Thanks for the compliment about my DD - I really wish I could freeze this age!

I use snapfish.com. I work for national food magazine, and on all my trips (about every other month to profile a restaurant) my photographer shoots a neat picture for me of something we've seen -- a place, a bottle of wine we shared, a scenic shot, etc. Then I upload it to snapfish.com in black and white, blow it up to 11x14, 12x18 or 16x20 and have it framed at Hobby Lobby. It is a GREAT way to remember the trip AND decorate my new house!

Has anyone complained about the dark photos? Will Winkflash redo them free of charge when you are not happy?

I have complained to winkflash - They offered to run the pictures again, but I would have to mail back the old ones (I ordered over 100 photos - yeah, I wait too long to order) - I needed the photos right away cause I was going on a scrapbook retreat, so I did not return them. Also, there was nothing in their email to me about how they would change the colors or contrast, so I don't know how the pictures would have come out a second time. But I have switched to Walmart and have been really happy with them -

Ok, now i'm nervous about my order I just placed!! lol I've ordered from Winkflash before, and honestly they have been the best pics as far as coloring and such goes compared to anywhere else i've had them developed.
My order should be here in the next couple of days. I guess if they're too dark i'll just send them back to be re-done.

I just got my order today and think the prints look great... definitely not too dark. Maybe there was a bad run? I'd definitely ask for a reprint if I wasn't happy!

I got mine, too, and they're fine. Well, fine for my photography...

I love the quality of winkflash pictures. I use them all the time. One order I had, they didn't mail everything. They reprinted the entire order and let me keep the other ones. I was very happy with their customer service. I say give them a call, and see what they say. They may go ahead and reprint your order. My guess woudl be that they make people send the others back, just so you aren't lying to get a free set of duplicates :confused3

Have you ever ordered the matte prints from winkflash? I accidentally forgot to check matte once and I did not like the glossy ones AT ALL. But I had some of the exact same pictures from them and they were matte and they were outstanding. I think that you should give them another try if you've not tried the matte finish. It makes such a difference.

I got my order today too and everything was fine. I had about a hundred prints. :)
