I noticed that Winebar George has a chicken salad sandwich on their lunch menu.

I do love me a good chicken salad. It can be a refreshing change of pace, for sure. But, I am also kind of picky about the fillers that are inside the chicken salad itself.

Has anyone ever had it, and can you speak to what is in the chicken salad itself? I haven't had much success looking up an allergy menu or ingredients or anything like that. I also tried to look at photos to see if I could figure it out, but...I'm stumped.

I've had it and enjoyed it but don't really remember specific details. I'm also picky about chicken salad and don't really care for things like grapes or walnuts in mine and don't recall it having any of that. I think it was pretty mayonnaise-y with celery. There are sundried or roasted tomatoes or something on the sandwich too but if I'm remembering correctly those aren't mixed in and could be omitted. They're pretty active on social media - I bet if you DM them or send a note through the contact section of their website that they'll reply. Everything I've had at WBG is delicious and the service has always been outstanding - definitely worth giving it a try!

Thanks....I actually DID try contacting them via social media a few months ago, at the time of this original post, but never heard anything.

I might try contacting the restaurant the old fashioned way.

Idk if you're still looking for info, but i had the chicken salad sandwich today. It comes with lettuce and roasted tomato on top but you can take those right off or ask to leave them off. The chicken salad itself appeared to be white meat chicken shredded very fine, lots of mayo, small pieces of diced onion, and small red pieces i think were pimento or similar - they were not spicy at all, but added some flavor.

I like my chicken and tuna salads plain, just meat and mayo, and i thought the sandwich was great. I hate celery etc in my salads, but the onion and pimento were small enough they didn't really crunch so they didn't bother me, and they added a nice flavor. If you're an expert at dissecting food like i am 😏 , you could pick out the pimento pretty easily with a fork; that was my original plan but it turned out to be tasty.

Thank you! This is so very helpful. Sounds delicious. I'm not a huge pimento fan, but I'm not opposed to them either. I can handle them in small doses, and it sounds like it compliments the chicken salad versus being featured.

I actually don't mind chicken salads with accoutrements in them....but the problem is I am kind of picky about certain items....like almonds, raisins, cranberries....I don't care for those foods. But....grapes and pecans...those I like. So....chicken salads are usually kind of hit or miss for me. But, like you, it's usually best if it's just plan....just meat and mayo.

I'm still going back and forth between the chicken salad sandwich, and doing a tapas-style lunch of shared apps. It all looks so good!

I haven’t tried the chicken salad, but everything I tried there yesterday was really, really good!
Meatballs, cheese board, chicken skewers, Mac and cheese bites, salad, and desserts. Delicious!!

Sounds delicious. I have had the mac n cheese bites, and those are a definite must, no matter what I end up getting.

I also have my eye on the grilled romaine, the burrata, and the saganaki on fire.

DH and I had dinner at WBG a couple of weeks ago. I had the grilled romaine, Mac & cheese bites, and the Iberico pork. DH had the meatballs and the chicken entree. We shared the key lime tart for dessert. It was all so good! I especially enjoyed the grilled romaine with it’s tangy dressing. We both are looking forward to going back to try other menu items on our next trip.

The chicken salad is mayonnaise based with no fruit or nuts in it.

On the grilled romaine dressing.....would you compare it to a ranch or a Caesar maybe?

And thanks about the chicken salad. Can't wait!

We got the saganaki before our sandwiches. If you've never had it before, it's worth it just for the experience - they set it on fire right next to your table. We get it at 2 places near home and I'd say the WBG saganaki was in the middle - it was a little more oily than I'd prefer, but tasted great and had a good crispy crust once it was set on fire. If you get it, ask for extra bread; they don't give you nearly enough for all the cheese.

We'll have to go back for a tapas style meal next time, and it will definitely include another saganaki. And maybe a chicken salad sandwich to go. : )

Was the liquor flavor/taste very pronounced?

Not at all. It all burns off and you can't really taste it. They squeeze lemon on it, too, and you can taste that a little more (i know that sounds weird with cheese, but it's actually really good). DH has an alcohol intolerance (it upsets his stomach) so we don't drink much, so we're pretty sensitive to the taste of alcohol. And yes, we did laugh with the waiter about us non-drinkers being really excited about the wine bar...

Oh my gosh....our similar tastes are getting a little eerie. Haha.

My sister will be with me, and she isn't huge on cheese, so....I probably won't get it. Seems like probably a lot of cheese for just one person.

Glad to read this. The restaurant looks tiny whenever I walk past ... but the elaborate menu makes me wonder Is the interior larger or recommend reservations?
Actually craving that chicken salad now cause I am picky and like the chicken finely shredded.
