Wine with dinner?

If I order wine at dinner, is it by the glass or do you buy a bottle? If I buy a bottle will they keep it for the next night's dinner too? Will there be a corkage fee? Is it cheaper to buy the bottle than several glasses?

I will take a bottle for the room, but won't carry that into the dining rooms.

Thanks

You may order by the glass or by the bottle. There is a wider selection by the bottle, as many wines are not available by the glass only. If you do not finish the bottle, you can take it to your room, or your assistant server will have it waiting for you the next night! It is definitely less expensive by the bottle.

Thanks. That will be nice to be able to finish the bottle in the restaurant the next night since I am not a heavy drinker and Dh drinks beer.

Is there a wine list and prices available anywhere--besides onboard?

We were very recently on the Magic 7-Day and your server will also send the unfinished bottle to Palo's for you if you have dinner there.

Another option is to buy the bottle at the bar (cheaper from what I understand) and take it with you to dinner. This would be a good idea if you would like a drink before dinner.

But if you do that, you pay a corkage fee at dinner, don't you? Wouldn't I then pay for the bottle at the bar and a corkage in the dining room for the samw bottle?

How do they know I bought it in the bar and didn't bring it from home?

I don't think so since the bottle was not one you brought onboard and it is already opened. It would be very much like buying a bottle at dinner and the waiters bringing it to you at the next dinner on your rotation. I am not sure about that though. I am passing on what another cruiser had done. I only met them once through work. You could always ask the bartender on the ship if you want to be sure before you actually buy the wine.

We've purchased the wine package on our last 2 cruises. If you don't end up "using" all of your bottles, you can choose your favorite and take a bottle home with you (this bottle will be unopened of course).
