Looking for a nice wine or liquor gift for Christmas for my brother and brother in law. They are not big into gifts so not too pricey but more than $10 kwim? Both families drink wine, martinis, mixed cocktails, beer and they entertain quite a bit. Any suggestions on a particular wine? Other related gift?

Electric corkscrew. You can usually find them on sale for around ten dollars

Do they like craft beer? You could go to a store like BevMo and get several single bottles of different craft beers and create your own 6-pack of beer for each of them! Tie some festive ribbon on each bottle to make it look a little more Christmas-y. My best friend did something similar for my husband's birthday ::yes::

You could also do the same with wine, I imagine, although it would probably be a little pricier :)

What I like to do when I'm gifting wine or beer is to find something local. A selection of local craft beers, a couple bottles of wine from local/regional wineries, something a little off the beaten path that they likely haven't tried before or wouldn't come across otherwise.

What is your target spending amount?

You can buy a really nice bottle of scotch for $50-80. Nice vodkas go for about $40.

I love a Cabernet by J. Lohr that runs about $20 or so, it's a decent bottle of wine.

While I love to shop local, I'm from NY too, and some tout the Finger Lakes wines to be superb, but I find them lacking when compared to other regions. They also lack the posh price point as some other vineyards.

Great ideas:) My target is probably around $25.00. We really just buy for each others kids, but, everyone is coming here this year so I thought I would just get them a small gift.

I agree with this! Go local!

There are lots of great recipes online for homemade limoncello! I use one from Real Simple magazine and it's fabulous! It takes a while to make though (it has to sit for 5 days), but it's worth it.
