Wine Flights

I was at EPCOT today and saw a sign in Germany in the wine shop for a wine flight. I already have the Wine Walk card and was going to use it but saw the flight had ice wine which I wanted to try. I was willing to pay the $9.97 for the flight but I did not want to drink all 3 at once.

I'm a light weight when it comes to alcohol and since I was the designated driver today and had already consumed Meade in Ireland and was going to have 1 pour in Germany to finish my day, I did not want more alcohol.

I asked if it worked like the Walk where I could have one today and collect the other 2 on another day, but I was told I would have to have all 3 of them at the same time. I even spoke to the manager about it since the wine steward was brand new today, and she told me the same thing. Does anyone know if it does work like the Walk? I was offered a larger pour of the ice wine for $7 but I didn't want that much as I would have been driving home in less then 30 minutes.

Do any other countries have the Wine Flight? I could always bring my dh as he doesn't drink, so I could be safe then.

No, a wine flight is a wine flight. You must buy all three wines at once.

I think France and Italy also have them - you can do flights, or the Wine Walk. Not sure if they serve different wines for each.

At the risk of sounding stupid...what is the Wine Walk? I am going to F&W next weekend (wow..can't believe it's that soon) with DH and have never heard of this. Thanks!

A Wine Walk is available at Germany, Italy, and France in their wine shops only. They give you a 2 oz pour of 2 wines that are available for purchase for $20. Total 6 pours 2 in each country. Make sure you go to the wine shop because no one who doesn't work in the shop has ever heard of it (ask me how I found that out?).

It's a nice way to try out the countries wines w/o getting a full glass in case you don't like it. If you do you can buy a bigger pour or the bottle.

Sounds interesting. I may just have to look into it. Sadly I won't be purchasing any wine this year as we are strictly doing just carryons.

Dh and I shared a Wine Walk in August, and very much enjoyed it! It's a nice way to sample different wines.

Just wanted to say thanks again everyone! I am really excited to try something new. Love the Dis!:cheer2:

Forgot to ask...where do I purchase it. Can I go to any of the 3 stores to get it?

Do you have your choice of which 2 wines? I really hate sweet wines so I wouldn't want to try any.

You purchase at the wine shops in Germany, Italy and France (not the kiosks).

The wines are pre decided by the shops. They are listed on the card you buy. You can always get them to serve you by the glass and pay ala carte also.

If I'm not mistaken, Epcot usually does a Sam Adams beer flight in the American Adventure Pavilion during the F & W Festival.

Sam Adams doesn't sponsor these anymore. They do only paid demonstrations at the Festival Center and only on certain days.

But at any of the three beer booths, you can decide to purchase flights of three different beers in smaller pours. You choose the beers.
