Does anyone have any experience with the DDP Wine & Dine? I am wondering about what wines you are limited to. Are they good wines or the not so good wines?

We are probably going for our 15th anniversary without our son for an adults only trip.

No one has any experience yet because that's a new plan for 2008. I'll be asking about the wine lists for the plan at a few places when we go next month, but we're not using it on this trip.

I checked on the information today while I was at Boma's because my husband and I were considering it. We do not find it to be any benefit to us at least there. The rule was that the bottle of wine had to be under $53 to count as only one wine credit. If the wine was more than that but under $100I believe, it counted as 2 credits. They only had a few bottles that were more than $39.99 (the cost of the plan) and less than $53. We have the DDE card, so even at $53, it would only save us $2 a bottle. I suspect a lot of people will get the plan and then find the wine would have been cheaper to pay out of pocket because at least there, the price most often seen was around $35.

There were 2 bottles more than $53, one was $65 and the other was $75. Using 2 wine credits, the wine plan would actually cost more than paying OOP.

I looked into the Wine and Dine and felt we would loose $$ on it. We have been able to experience many nice bottles of wine at WDW for $25 -$35 each. We also buy several bottles for in room use and have found several great wines in the $15-20 range easily, at several stores in DTD, Epcot and AK.
