Also, can anyone tell me exactly where this restaurant is? It doesn't seem to show up on Disney's website map.

WCT is not horrible despite what you may of read. People seem to expect it to be a 5 star place and it isn't and doesn't claim to be. It is my first choice to sit down in DCA. The other is AG but that is really for character dining.

It was closed for a while which may be why you didn't find it on a map.

It is located at the base of GRR about opposite the Soarin attraction.

It had a name change when it re-opened last week. It used to be Golden Vine Trattoria (I think). It is across from Bugs Land.

Add us to the list, it is one of the places we really enjoyed last year when we were there. We liked it so much we returned and ate dinner there a second night in a row!

Really? When was it called that Hydro? When we went for my bday meal in May of 09 it was the Wine Country Trattoria.
Personally I didn't think it was that great. My pasta was ok but nothing special, DD10 (then 9 and a HUGE pasta eater) didn't like hers at all, in fact she hardly ate any and when we told the server he said "Oh sorry, I'll just take it away" and didn't offer anything in replacement. After we paid for our meal (and yes her's too) we took her to get a corndog. Anyway, we weren't that impressed so we didn't go back. But that was just us, others have had great experiences there.

We ate there 4/09 and I swore I would never eat there again. :scared1:Our waiter Chandler was the worst. The food was blah. I
think I had the Pizzeta Salad. yuck :eek: No refills on drinks just terrible service.
It was called Wine Country Trattoria then too.
I think in 07? it might have been the Golden Vine it had Robert Mondavis name on it. My DS had to get a pic because he works at those hoighty toighty restaurants in Napa lolol:rotfl:
I would have to look back in my scrapbooks to be sure tho:goodvibes

I guess maybe the name change happened earlier than last week. :) I have never eaten there before or after the name change. Plan to next month though.

I've always liked WCT (before the recent closing and re-opening). It's always been one of the places I recommend. Even when it's busy, it always seems to be a quiet place to eat (especially outside), and if you're lucky and sitting in the right spot you can catch the Pixar Play Parade. As Skiingfast said, it's not a 5-star restaurant (nor are most of the places in DLR) but it was still quite good, although I am dismayed that they took the meatball sandwich off the menu - that was my favorite thing. Now I have to rethink what I will eat there next time. Admittedly, the recent reports of WCT food and service have not been great since WoC began last week. I'm hoping WCT didn't make a permanent drop in quality and service, and that this is just part of the initial madness involved in WoC and the dining packages. Hopefully WCT is working out the bugs.

LOL I'm cracking up at your son working at the hoighty toighty restaurants in Napa....that's hilarious....we did a tasting at Mondavi, we weren't impressed.
Can I ask where your DS works? We've eaten at a couple of places that might qualify as hoighty or toighty. LOL

Lol we eat at them all the time they are so fun to watch the food snobs!! He has mostly worked for Thomas Keller you know the Ratatouie restaurants :goodvibes Ad-Hoc for the longest, Bouchon one of his favorites and mine too
their kitchen is done up like the kitchen in the movie :cool1: :lovestruc and he did a stint at Bistro Jeanty. Apparently Mondavi frequented some of the restaurants, DS was a fan :)We dined at Ad-Hoc once while Mondavi was dining with his family, poor guy must of been about 100. It's all about the same to me, lots of $ for stuff I can make at home
