Wine and Dine 2015

Sleep? What is this sleep you speak of? Between kids, dogs and husbands I haven't been getting a lot of it lately.

HUSBANDS??? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Wasn't there a TV show that had a guy with mulitple wives :rotfl2:

Agree with Huggybuff about the being single perk. Although everyone says i have a Disney wife, a running wife, a work wife, a Nascar wife, a drag racing wife, and a martial arts wife at one point. so i can understand the lack of sleep. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I certainly hope so! I'm dying to get a pair. It doesn't look like they're going to have any new designs, though, since I'm pretty sure they revealed the Tinks and Donalds a couple weeks before Tink weekend and Disneyland weekend.

When I went to the virtual queue page that was from the DLR 1/2, they only had the tinks/donalds advertised. None of the older ones (I was really hoping to snag some of the earlier ones too) but I could have sworn that people from the earlier races this year (ie DL/WDW full/half) had posted that they were there. I just thought it was odd that there's been no mention of the shoes even being available and the race is in 6 days.

So, does anyone want to do a Solo (or DISers... I'm not trying to exclude anyone) meet up at the start? or after party?

I know there's a party in H corral :dancer:

But it would be fun to meet up after. I think the logistics will be a bit difficult- there seems to be a wide spread of starting corrals (outside of the chunk of us in H) everything from C to the last. It'll be hard to plan an 'official' meet up for the party with that big of a stagger. Although, I'd love to be able to say hi to people if I saw them wandering world showcase at the after party- I don't want to go up to every third person and say "hi are you x from the dis?" :rotfl:

What I want is to know of those in H if we're meeting at the corral maybe just to say hi and introduce ourselves? It'll help pass the time and hopefully cut down on nerves. Heck, I'm nervous as I'm typing this. My mind is going 'should I run today?' 'no, i shouldn't' 'but maybe I should run today' and so on. I just want to fast forward to 2 miles into the race where I'm finally in my zone :music: and tearing up the pavement. This waiting thing is insane. lol

I feel the same way. Part of the problem is that my husband gets most of his motivation from me and I've been doing my long runs early (in Florida you pretty much have to) and his sleep schedule is super messed up so he doesn't usually go to sleep until 1-3 a.m. so he's not keen on getting up at 7 a.m. for a run. Upside being that staying awake for the race next week should be super easy for him! We do walk/run intervals so we'll be walking half of it anyways :rotfl: but based on today I think our walk intervals are going to have to be longer than I would like. I'm still trying to decide if I want to sign up for another half after Wine & Dine. What corral are ya'll in?

Didn't listen to anything today since I was talking to my husband throughout the run but last week for my long run I was listening to "The Martian" audiobook. I love that book, made the time go quickly!
We are in Corral F

So I did a dress rehearsal today. Ran 5 in my costume just to make sure all was good and I believe it is. I have a Minnie sparkle skirt which true to its word did not ride up and I couldn't even tell I was carrying my phone in my pocket. I also have Minnie sleeves which also surprisingly stayed in place. Those may come off mid race if it's humid though, but they are small so will fit in my skirt pocket. Will do one more 4 mile run Wednesday and then onto the 1/2! Can't wait to get down there!

I think Keels will be the easiest one to find so far. She made a great shirt for this event.

@Keels are you in H? For some reason I thought you were up a bit higher...

I'm in H! My previous proof of time was from my first-ever 10k, but it's a pretty good spot for me right now. I'm hoping my most recent PoT will help me move up a little bit after Dopey! My husband is running up in D, or whatever corral @mbwhitti is in. I'm pretty sure their bib numbers are right near each other!

I just realized that this is my second-straight rD half where I've done a shirt with my name on it. I guess I just like having my name on things?

Anyway. Just don't make me throw a flag on any of y'all for a party foul!!!

Think I will just wear the Cocoa Beach half marathon shirt. It is white and comfortable

Will we get a hard copy of the event guide in our stuff at packet pickup? I don't want to chance jamming the printer at work, and with the graphics and all it would take all the ink in the county to print it at home.

Agreed. We talked about doing a shirt with a greyhound on the back, or something about greyhounds on the back, but I never got to doing it.

Yes you will

Yup! I think I ended up with ... 7? at Disneyland. I got one for each bib I picked up, plus for all the ChEAR packages and the Anniversary party. And they even had stacks sitting around everywhere.

I posted our shirts back several pages. They have wine glasses on them and say, "runDisney, Drink Wine, Be Awesome". Says my name Gisele on it. Wave if you see me. We are in F.

Ran our local half-marathon today and got a PR. Woohoo! 2:19:07. That's more than 6 minutes faster than my previous PR. DH ran the full and also PR'd by 21 minutes!!! Great running day for us. Now we will try to rest up before Saturday night and take that run a bit easier. We leave on Thursday. Can't wait.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket (suitcase). DW and I have organized our running outfits, and will be bringing the primaries in our carry on bags. Any spares will be split in the checked bags. We do this with all our packing: all the socks, for example, don't go into the same bag.

I may be slightly paranoid but I felt a "twinge" in my ankle while out walking and a slight pain in my left calf. So I am now wearing a compression brace on each ankle and calf sleeves on both legs lol. Also iced the ankle for 20 minutes. Taking no chances! :rolleyes1

And aren't you really fast? You can't possibly need that many songs on your playlist! I however definitely need to add to my list and rearrange a few things.

Two days ... 12 more hours of work ... Starts to try to math out the minutes and seconds ...

Yeah, I'm ready to go.

We are doing a quick weekend trip for the run, getting on a flight 9:55 Friday morning with a flight home Sunday afternoon. But we will be back down with our boys on 11/19 thru 11/28. Was talking to a friend about trying to make plans on a Friday night in November and realized we will be in Disney 3 of the 4 Friday's this month, yay!
