We are thinking of staying at one of the Windsor Palms houses. Has anyone had any experience with this location with respect to the condition of the houses, the onsite ammenities and the accessibility to theme parks?

and there were some threads recently discussing them. I don't have the exact post but the person rented from the owner and said it was very nice and the people were very good to deal with. I think it's only about 4 miles or so from Disney and the community has many activities of its own.

We're trying to decide between here, CP and CPGV.

We stayed in WP in June 2003. The home we rented was a 5/4/2 with Pool and heated Jacuzzi Spa.

My owner was great to work with and she even recommended other owners on WP for a larger group stay next year.

WP is very nice gated community (manned 24-7) with onsite theater (free) sundry shop, gameroom, workout room and community pool.

Access to WDW was easy and it was 2 miles to AK and closer to 4 for the other parks if you use the Sherberth rd shortcut.

Our home was well maintained and contained many upgrades, like 55" TV, dvd players and TV's in each room, and down pillows.

The conservation view was nice also.

The homes were all built within the last 2-3 years and the home we stayed in was built 11/2002.

I would definitely stay at WP again.

We stayed at WP last October and booked the same villa for this October.Because it is such a new community I can't see there would be a poor quality villa in the whole resort.

Our family of 8 stayed in WP 5bd/3bath/ pool and spa. We loved it. However, the cooking utensils were very skimpy and old. This time we are staying in WP but in a different home. Hopefully we'll have enough cooking gear for 8 and they will be in good condition. I guess some people don't know what it takes to cook for an army. We had to use a med sauce pan to cook pasta for the 8 of us and the small frying pan for the sauce. Just be prepared if you have a lot of people and you plan on cooking meals there.

Keep in mind that each condo/house is privately owned and furnished by the owner. Vacation home owners are generally very nice and happy to answer any questions you may have so before you book, send off a list of questions about what is and isn't included in the home.

Also, after you rent a home, if there is something that you think was lacking, contact the owner. Even the best owners can't think of everything their guests could possibly want or need. Most will happily add to the provided equipment (within reason) if something important is missing. I'm sure any owner would rather spend a few bucks to upgrade the kitchen supplies than to lose a potential customer.

We're booked at Windsor Palms in November. I'll post a full review when we return.
