Disney veterans - this is my 31st visit, DW's 24th, and DD's 20th
We left NJ yesterday about 3pm for the drive to WDW. Our first stop was a quick dinner at a Wawa somewhere in MD. Second stop was for gas in Emporia, VA. Then we stopped for the night at a Comfort Inn in Fayetteville, NC.
We were back on the road about 8:50am today. Lunch was at a McDonald's at exit 53 in Walterboro, SC. Hit a major rain storm in southern GA. Made a quick stop at the Florida Welcome Center for some free OJ. More rain in Florida and arrived at Windsor Palms around 5:30pm just in time for a pretty scary lightening storm. We didn't even fully unload the car. We just each grabbed a bag and got inside until the storm passed.
We had originally talked about going to DTD for the evening but we decided against it ultimately. Instead, we went over to have dinner at Flippers on Rolling Oaks (by Target on 192). After dinner, we went across the street to Publix for some groceries and then back to the condo for the night.
Right now, the plan is to sleep in tomorrow, do DTD during the day when we figure we might be able to get a parking space, maybe hit the outlets or visit a hotel or two. Basically, we just didn't want to have to be up for rope-drop after traveling for two days. We'll start in the parks on Monday.
