Has anyone ever stayed at Windsor Hills?

I've only ever stayed on Disney property but due to not having enough DVC points to cover 20 nights in a 1 bed I'm opting for offsite this trip.

I've had a quote for a 2 bed condo in Windsor Hills from 12th August to 1st September of $1374.

The price seems okay....all other quotes are coming out more but I'm not really sure if its a good deal.

I've never researched accommodation before due to using DVC points.

Does anyone have any recommendations for Windsor Hills or anywhere else that is a nice place to stay that's not too far away from Disney?

Thanks
Andrea :o)

Hi Andrea

I have stayed at WH three times - each time in a 3br townhouse that has a splash pool. I really like the resort and the location - it is near to WDW and the community pool are is nicely done.

I have also stayed at Windsor Palms and Emerald Island - at the end of the day it is down to the individual accommodation as most are individually owned and to different standards. Unfortunately the owner we used to rent from at WH has now sold the property and it is a lot more expensive on the new website :( We used VRBO to find it originally.

When we stayed for 3 weeks I paid for extra cleaning so we didn't have as much to do!

I have also stayed at Sheraton Vistana in a condo and liked it there too.

Hi Andrea we were thinking of booking Windsor hills for a while and looked at a few properties on line. It seems really nice but is generally a bit more expensive as its one of the closer communities to Disney. Just depends what's more important to you- more space for your money or being closer to it all.
We've now decided to go back to our usual villa at Highland reserve for 1 week then 2 weeks at old key west. We decided that we love our villa so much it's worth driving.
The easiest way is prob to research the communities first then look for the accommodation.
Good luck and enjoy the research

Thanks for your replies. There is so much to consider and so many quotes to obtain!

I have only really looked at Windsor Holls at this point.

How far away from Disney are Emerald Isle, Windsor Palms and Highland Reserve?

I'd really rather book from a recommendation!

Thanks again

In truth there is probably only about 5 to 10 minutes in them. WH being the nearest, then EI and then WP. For all you can use the Sherberth Road shortcut, all are near the Formosa Garden area. If you use the pool a lot (and not having a private pool) then WH is definitely the better of the 3.

I think we will be in a condo. I don't think the extra cost for a splash pool will be worth it for us as Olivia will want to use the watersides etc!

I have asked for a lot of quotes and some of the vary by nearly $1000 for the same accommodation (obviously building number, location and decor will vary).

I've found one I like but there are so many to choose from I think I need to continue to research!
