Windsor Hills vs. Emerald Isle vs. Terra Verde...so confused

Honestly, we own and run 3 townhomes, and we've never had ants in any of them. I have been in dozens and dozens of townhomes, and never seen ants in any of them. It is Florida though, ANY property can get bugs or ants, it's Florida! The land of bugs and critters! What's important, is that the home has regular pest control (EVERYONE in FL has this!)...and they have a good MC in case you have any issues or problems during your visit. Everyone has small issues from time-time...you have them at home ...right? It's what you do about it that counts...and it will be the MC taking care of any issues that may come up! This is true if you irregardless of if you stay in a hotel, condo, townhome, or pool home!

As you say anywhere can get ants but most owners pay for a pest control expert to get rid of them. We pay $25 per month to our Management Company and would be annoyed if we ever found an ants problem at our villa.

We just returned from a pool home in WH 2 weeks ago. I think you can walk to the main pool from any of the homes, distance wise, but it would be brutal in July, as there is no shade. We often drove to the clubhouse due to being with elderly grandparents and always found a very close parking spot.

As for the splash pool, we did walk by these and they are big enough to use and have fun with, for sure. They are only about 2 feet less wide than the pool at the homes, and half as long (pool homes pool are about 14 x 28, although some owners may have larger, not sure).

As for the main pool at WH being a good pool, it rivals pools at the deluxe WDW resorts we have stayed at, in terms of size, warmth, zero depth entry, slide (actually it has a much higher and longer slide), water jets spraying across the pool in the deep end, and splash area wih jets for toddlers. Also plenty of loungers and shade. In 2 ways it is not as good as WDW pools at deluxe resorts, namely the theming (pool slide disguised to look like a mountain or kopje, for example) and the lack of a poolside bar. But neither of those are really present at Pop either, so I also am confused at the comparison.

Good luck choosing!

WE have a villa on Terra Verde and use our own pool for cooling off and the kids love it with regard to water volleyball etc. However, we have found that if you want a longer swim you can walk to the clubhouse to use the resort pool. As Terra Verde is quite a small resort, no place is ever much more than 5 mins walk from the clubhouse, but if you need to drive there is always a parking place next to the clubhouse. It is great to have the best of both worlds with a private pool and a resort pool to use.

We stayed in WH last year.

Yes, there was an ant problem, BUT it was being adressed and I think that part of the issue was the shoddy job done by the MC. There was a ton of crumbs under the sofas and tables, so its no wonder...

Anyway, the owners switched to a different MC and I am told things are much better. As for the pool, it was definitley big enough and let me tell ya...it was lovely to go for a dip with my hubby after the kids were gone to bed. There is nothing like a little privacy and its yours 24 hrs a day.

We are planning on going back next year!

We stayed at a townhome at WH last X-mas and thought the splash pool was priceless. Our kids are 8 and 5 and spent hours in it. Mom and Dad don't always feel up to making the walk or drive to the main pool and it was so nice to let them play in the spash pool while I was doing laundry or just chilling out inside.

If your children like to swim the pool will be a great thing.

We rented a condo at WH last week and loved it...we will definitely rent a town home or pool home there next time!!

One down side about the clubhouse pool there is the height line for the slide. My 8 1/2 year old dd made the height line by an inch and a half or so. Many kids were turned away from using it (there is a strict slide monitor there). She would have been quite upset if a year ago (at 7 1/2) she would have been turned away from using the slide. So, if you have short kids, you are SOL with that!!
