Checkin is always 4pm. We will always let guests checkin early...IF and only IF...there's no one leaving the morning of their arrival. The reason is simple really..guests checkout at 10-10:30am...and then the cleaners come, and it takes them most of that window to clean the home (these homes are pretty large...the townhomes are nearly 1500 sq feet..and they have to do laundry / linens too).
When we arrived at our OWN home last Sat...we couldn't checkin until 4pm. Same reason...someone left that AM.
So...what did we do? Went to Super Walmart and went grocery shopping of course for the home. Now...we arrived about as early as you possibly could...6am flight from Chicago...got in at 9:30am...get rental car..luggage..we were at Windsor Hills by 11am. I stopped in to check on the home and the cleaners...they were just arriving. So...off to Walmart. By the time we were done shopping and back to the home (we stopped and ate lunch and stuff too)...we were back at 3:15pm and they were JUST finishing up.
Now...after the cleaning crew comes, the cleaning supervisors stop by to check on the job they did...THEN...the MC stops by to do yet another check to make sure that they're happy with the job and the home is 100% perfect before the guests arrive.
Lots of stuff happening behind the scenes you don't really realize as a guest!!
It really throws them off actually when a guest arrives early...they feel "rushed" and you may not get as good of a job.
Of course, when we can, we do allow it, since the home is always cleaned on the day the guests leave...so if they left earlier it's no problem at all.
Also, in Windsor Hills, there's no problem at all if you come early and want to spend a few hours at the pool / clubhouse...and there's a bathroom / locker room there where you can change and stuff for the pool.
Same thing on checkout...we have to leave our home Sat am at 10:30am since someone else arrives that afternoon....but our flight isn't until 6pm on Sat...so we'll just spend the day at the pool!
And no...this is not like a hotel..it's a resort type of setting, but there's no place to store luggage or anything like that in the clubhouse for you...there's nothing like bellhops here or that kind of thing, but it's better!
