I'm looking for some help with the pros and cons of these 2 resorts. We are looking at staying off-site next October, and both of these resorts look promising. However, I know next to nothing about vacation rentals.:guilty:

So, can someone please share their thoughts on which place would be the better choice? We are only planning a quick 3 night trip, and will have our own rental car, if that makes a difference. Or if you can point me to a different place, that would be great too! TIA!:flower3:

I've never stayed at BC but I have stayed at Windsor Palms, sister resort of Windsor Hills. Also stayed in vacation homes near WP lots of times. While I like that location and rental homes are nice, I would really love to stay at BC. Pictures look just beautiful and location-wise it's right next to other WDW resorts so it's almost like staying onsite as far as driving distance to parks.
I guess the only possible con to staying at BC is that it's a timeshare resort so you might get invited to tour the property and sit thru the shpiel. That wouldn't bother me as we are already TS owners (Summer Bay) and have no problem just saying no and walking away. ymmv.

I have only stayed at BC, but I would think for a short trip it would be better. It is quite literally sandwiched between Disney property. Our drive times to the parks were so awesome, like 5 minutes to DHS, Epcot and DTD. I really felt like we had the best of all worlds staying there...proximity to the parks, beautiful resort and lower prices!

I'd vote for Bonnet Creek too. I always stay offsite (houses, and I've also stayed at Cypress Pointe Grande Villas), but I'll be staying at Bonnet Creek this week (arriving Christmas Day).

It's location cannot be beat in my opinion. This link should take you to a map - http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-...fb=1&cid=13828305784629136886&li=lmd&z=14&t=m

You can actually see the fireworks from the units that face Epcot (go to YouTube and google Bonnet Creek fireworks, and you can see some videos from people who have stayed there.

One of the threads on the Dis has a link to somebody (I think his name is Ken Price) who does rentals at a good price (particularly last minute prices). I haven't dealt with him, but he's gotten very good reviews. I used ebay and got my 2BR/2BA condo for $90 a night (which I'm very pleased with :goodvibes ) - got my confirmation from Wyndham last week.

I think they will be quite different experiences. Windsor Hills is a whole-ownership development. Staying here is like staying in your Uncle Doug's vacation home---each home is unique, has the owner's personal touch (for better or worse ;)), and there is less of an emphasis on common amenities. Though, to be fair, the common areas at Windsor Hills are very nice.

Bonnet Creek is a timeshare resort. Each unit is identically decorated, and there is more of a focus on shared amenities, though the units are also very very well-appointed.

The location of both are excellent. Both are wonderful places to stay. I've rented at Windsor Hills, and own at Wyndham. You can't go wrong between the two.
