Windsor Hills - The Magic Palace

We booked it (Magic Palace at WH) for May of 2009 and I have a PTR going. I'll try to be good and continue it into a completed TR if anyone pays attention! I'll detail the resort and house, as well as our TourguideMike results and travelling with 5 kids...
I'd still like to hear from others who have stayed at MP -
anyone???

Hello All,
I am so EXCITED! We are staying there this weekend-Friday thru Tuesday. So I will let you all know how it is!! :dance3:

Hi,

I am totally new here, but we just got back last weekend from a week at Disney. We stayed in the Magic Villa 3 at Windsor Hills. The website was a good representation of the condition of the property. Getting into the property was easy and it was clean.

Tracy

Thanks Tracy for letting us know...really appreciate it! Glad you stay was nice!:cool1:

Sara, have a terrific  weekend.....I will be vicariosly living it thru you. Look forward to your report...so exciting! :yay:

We were a bit leary since we had never rented a townhome before. It just seemed too easy. In our townhome there was laundry soap, dish soap, and travel shampoo and conditioner along with bar soap. I am sure the laundry soap was left by another guest, but I think the travel shampoos were left by the management company. They left it in each bathroom.

We wanted a room decorated for the kids and these were some of the nicest we could find. We will go back again, but may try Villa 1,2 or 4.

If you don't mind me asking, which company did you go through? I am planning on staying at WH w/ my in-laws in January and have not yet solidified which company to go with.

I have only stayed onsite, but I am looking forward to the extra space here!!

we are staying at the Magic Villa 1 (same owners as the Magic Palace) in two weeks. they have been top notch so far. i even have gotten feedback on this forum from someone who just recently returned from Magic Villa 1. she had very postitive info. clean. no issues. courtious and responsive contact person for the villa once they were onsite.

i am hoping to have a similar experience in two weeks.

i will certainly post back on this forum when i get back.

Lori, sounds terrific! Can't wait to hear from you...have a wonderful vacation!

I just thought I would bump this up and let everyone looking at the Magic Villas know they have added 2 more villas. The kid's rooms in both, Magic Villa 5 and Magic Villa 6, are princess themed. We are looking to switch our December reservation at the Poly to here. Saving some big bucks doing it and not having to share a room with my kids! ;)

Hey you're right. I havent looked at the website for a week or so and they snuck that right in by me. :confused3 I am getting a little worried cause everyone is so excited to stay there and then I never hear what it was like after they return. Perhaps you go in but never come out :lmao: ??!! :rolleyes1

never fear - i will tie a rope to my rear and anchor the other end to my minivan so i can pull my self back out and report back in here in late june when i return.

and yes, those two new villas they just added do look nice. they did just add those in the last few days because my kids have been on that site pretty regular getting pumped up for our upcoming visit. one thing you have to commend this owner for is they sure don't skimp on the decorating expenses. the furniture looks so nice. will post after my return if it is a nice onsite as it looks in the pictures.

:rotfl: :rotfl: That is too funny! We just went thru a heat wave here and it so reminded me of our June trip last year. So are you packed and ready???? Are you writing a trip report???

I would agree with you about the decorating. You know what I find strange. If you look on the availability, they are constantly booked. They've gotta be making lots of money. So why don't other property owners try to do the same thing? I mean if I owned a rental place there, that's what I would do.

sorry - i have been monster busy at work and didn't get back here until now.

no i haven't even started packing yet and it is stessing me out. i have had medical convention to assist with all this week and this would normally be my "week before my trip packing and cleaning so i don't come back to a dirty house" i have this weekend and monday tough. i will be less time than i like, but it will work.

i agree so much with the notion that other owners should decorate better.

how does a place sell when folks are looking at it onliine?....by the pictures. if i can get 5 places each for a grand a week and the pics on their websites show that 3 of the 5 places aren't decorated any better than my first appartment out of college, you can bet i am going with one of the other two,

NOTE TO ANY OWNERS OUT THERE: decorate your place nicely. spend the cash, it will be worth it in the extra rentals you will get. and another note about decorating...put some color on the walls. all white or eggshell walls in a vacation home is rather lame. even if one's home is like that, they are going on vaca for a change. something more opulant (spelling on that one?!?!?) than what they have at home goes along way to making the vaca seem special. ALSO, pictures, pictutes, pictures....put at least one of each room on your site. if you list 3 bedrooms, i want to see a pic of all 3 rooms. if you post pics of only two i assume the 3rd is lame or you would have posted it. also, those pics help tons to determine if your beds will accomodate our group.

ok, better get back to this convention....WDW is far more interesting than cardiac abnormalities, but ya gotta do what 'cha gotta do.

:rotfl2:

My cousin and I were searching the homes online last night and it got to be a joke!! "Not this one, next. That one's white." :rotfl:

Lori - did I mention I was actually at Windsor Hills?? I had a teacher convention in 2006 and some of us stayed at Windsor Hills and the rest of us stayed at Windsor Palms. I found both places very nice! I was actually in some 3 bdrm units but not the houses.
I am sorry about the "distractions" keeping you from packing. Darn it if work doesn't get in the way of Disney! ::yes:: I washed, ironed, folded and bagged clothing for myself and three girls in about 2 days. Once the clothing is clean and picked out its not so bad. Which parks are you planning to go to? Did you make any dining reservations? Isn't it so fun to plan? :yay: I hope you have a great vacation. Takes lots of pics!!!!! :3dglasses

ok, can't resist the urge to check back in on the boards even though i should be getting my office work done so i can blow out of here early and get packing!!!!

serioulsy, jazz0007 - we can't be the only people who rent with our eyes can we?!? those pics and the decorating of the places is key. hope some owners see this thread and take up on the tip.

twob4him - so where'd ya stay?!?! villa names if you remember? websites? i have a feeling i am going to be hooked on renting villas for my vacations after this experience. the picking out of the clothes is the worst part....and i have not even started that yet. i have a general idea, but i have to get in there and do that. i have you say you are better than i though....iron...what is this of which you speak?!?!

we are park commandos - we will do each WDW park at least once and MK and EPCOT (yes i still refer to it in all caps - they way it was intended) several times thru our trip. (AP holders so hopping is a way of life) family motto "we can sleep when we are dead - or at least not on a WDW vacation." we prob won't hit any other Orlando parks this trip but would like to (if the water level is high enough) take the Dora Canal tour. we will also be spending one day with some close friends who live in clermont.

i will take plenty of pics and report back in upon my return. (i will pay particualr attention to the decals on the walls and comment if they are cheezy and/or dangerous looking.)

I rented with my eyes this time, but I must say sometimes I rent with my checkbook. Cheap is good! And sometimes I am looking for specific bed arrangements or items available. But this time I went with my eyes & super close to Disney.

I agree with the white walls comment. Why? My walls aren't even white at home, why would I want to go on vacation & stay in a house that is less nice than the one I live in?
