I seem to remember mention of a "shortcut" from Windsor Hills to Disney. Something like Sherberth Rd?? Of course, I can't find the thread I swear I bookmarked and the search button is no help. :confused3 Is anyone familiar with this route?

Another question: Can someone explain to me the steps between parking at MK and actually arriving at rope drop? We have our tickets, so we won't need to stop to buy those. Are there lots of signs pointing you in the right direction? I'm unsure of the whole process.

Question #3: We will be eating at Chef Mickey's on our nonpark day. Is there parking at the Contemporary? If so, do we just follow World Dr?

Thank you for helping me out! We leave for our first trip in 2 1/2 weeks. Although I've been planning for what seems like forever, I feel like I have a big test coming up for which I haven't studied enough!!!!

answer: Bunker Hill Rd, make right on Funie Steed Rd., left on Entry Point Blvd., goes under 192 & becomes Sherberth Rd. Take that to Osceola Pkwy. This is definitely best to AK. Depending on time of day & traffic, may be best to World Dr. (other parks) as well.

answer: You will park at TTC (Transportation & Ticket Center), take tram from parking & then take Monorail or Boat to MK. It really isn't difficult & there will be lots of people & signs at the TTC.

answer: Yes, follow World Dr. to MK entry booths. Let them know you are going to the Contemporary. I recommend having your confirmation #, but they may not ask for it. Make sure that you are over to the right side. The far right is for buses, but get over as far as you can when going past the booths. Stay to the right & they will tell you the colored line to follow. You will follow that all the way up & around to the Contemporary. There will be signs. You will probably need your confirmation # to park there, but then you will get a pass to put in your car window that is good for 3 hours.

:)

Have a great time!

Shortcut: turn left out of the main WH entrance onto Old Lake Wilson Rd then turn left onto Morgan Williams Rd, turn left onto Funie Steed Rd, turn right onto Entry Point Rd. Cross 192 at the lights (doesn't go under, it's just an intersection) and you'll be on Sherberth Rd. Follow that to the lights and turn right. You'll be on Osceola Parkway. You can access all of Disney from there.
On this map you can zoom in and follow the red line. It's very easy once you've done it.

When you leave Disney follow the signs to the Animal Kingdom area and then as you get closer follow the directions for AK Lodge. When you get back to the Sherberth Rd intersection (before you get to the Lodge) turn left and follow that back the way you came.

Yes, there is parking at the Cont. for Chef Mickey's. You stop at the gate and give them your name and reservation time and they will give you a parking pass for it is either 2 or 3 hrs. You can not park there and then go to the MK after breakfast without moving your car. Just follow the signs for the Cont. resort. for parking.

When you park at the MK you have to take either the monarail or the boat up to the main gate. The parking lot is at the ticket center. You park there an then take the other transportation up to the main gate.

Have fun!!
