Windsor Hills reviews?

Are there any Windsor Hills reviews around?

We are a family of 5 who has never stayed off site. Now with the kids getting bigger it's getting very expensive to stay on site. We have looked into Windsor hills and almost can't believe we can get a 3 bedroom for just over $800 for 7 nights. So whats wrong with it? Is it further then it looks? Dirty? Or am I just looking for the bad because the price is so low?

Actually, depending on the time you are staying it could be lower. I am paying $1000 for 2 weeks. I have not stayed with this owner previously, but the last townhouse I stayed at was great. They typically have cleaning service that comes in at end of previous guest stay and cleans. You can for a charge have cleaning done while you are there depending on the owner. I loved Windsor Hills. I could do laundry and cook if I wanted. We had space to spread out. Our favorite was jumping in the private splash pool in the evening for a quick swim! The main pool is very nice. They have video rentals and a small store. There is also a small arcade area and a huge playground.

The price is low because the market is saturated with townhomes and condos (not to mention hotels and motels) and they want your business. I think the trick is to find a place with recommendations (there are many reviews and recommendations threads here on this forum) and ask a lot of questions before putting down that deposit. I have read very few negative reviews and I generally find that people are more likely to come on a forum to complain than to praise. The fact that there's lots more positive reviews than negative suggest to me that it really is a great place.

Plus if you're like me, you're used to Disney prices for lodging and WH looks ridiculously low. However, compared to vacation rentals in other places, it's not crazy cheap (but still less than other places... probably due to the oversaturation of the market).

There is definitely over saturation. There are so many homes, you could go crazy researching them. I honestly feel that you can find negative anywhere if you look hard enough. Even at Disney. The link below shows you some options. It really all depends on what are your priorities. There is a Super Target real close to Windor Hills and a Publix. Also tons of places to eat and shop.

You are definitely making me feel better. I have found only wonderful reviews in my limited search and the property looks beautiful.

Now my next question is about renting one. Is there a "best" way to do so? I found 2 websites....magicalvacationhomes.com and ....vacationcentralflorida.com. How do I know that these are reputable places to rent from. Should I use a TA to make sure? I'm a little nervous about just giving my CC info and knowing nothing about the site.

I've had uneasy feeling too, but most of these places have managment companies and reviews from previous guests. There is also a website to check their tax records posted on the link I gave you. Some people take paypal and others CC's and checks. Some have small fees for paypal and CC's. We rented direct with the owner my first time and through a management company the second. I got tons of responses from windsorhillsrent.com. If you have two picked out with great reviews you may not want to put yourself through 100's of responses.

We love Windsor Hills! We rented a 3 bedroom/3 bath townhome for 7 nights for just over $700 so shop around. We rented from Storytime storytimeorlandorental.com and it was great. Very clean, nicely decorated and Elias was great to rent from. Everything was super easy.

Disney costs more because it is Disney. They can charge more because they know people will pay it plain and simple.

Anyway, we love Windsor Hills and were so spoiled staying there we won't stay on-site again.

We found the home we are renting on vrbo.com. There are 7 of us - 4 adults and three kids. We are excited to have the space this time around and a private pool. And Windsor Hills looks fantastic.

The website for the pool home we rented is disneygetaway.net. It is a 5 bed/5 bath. It got great reviews and the owner seems great. They offered one free night.

Another thumbs up for Windsor Hills! We have rented through Vacation Central Florida as well as private owners. Everything has always gone without a hitch! Have fun!

my in-laws rented in windsor hills last october. it was a great deal! we stayed in a 6 bedroom/3 bath home and i think it was for $1000 for the week. we had a pool and hot tub. the hot tub didn't work the first few days, the owners sent somebody out to fix it asap.

it was a really nice neighborhood and it was awesome "living" so close and seeing what's in the area.

we also had a few magnetic keys to the front gate but really never needed them because there'd be cars going in and the gate would be open. (right around park closing).

Hi, to ease your mind a bit, we've rented from vacationcentralflorida.com before, and we are currently in one of their condos now. Dave Robinson is very reputable, and the other people on his site are his friends.
I first chose them because of reviews I read, and they don't take a security deposit. That's a nice extra because then I have more money on vacation to spend! And, the first time I rented from them, all their condos and townhomes were the same price to rent, VERY reasonable!
Now, they've gotten more expensive, more on par with the rest of windsor hills, but they still take no security deposit, and since I've rented with them before, I know it will be a nice rental unit, with loads of Disney spirit!

We were in one of Daves condo's last week. It had disney accents in every room, but very tasteful! Not at all childish, except in the kid's room, which was appropriate.
Now we're in a condo of one of the other owners on his site, and this one has much fewer Disney accents, but it's still a very nice unit. I actually like the overall decor of this one better, it's lighter, but would have liked more disney to it I can never have too much!
You can view every unit on his site, they have videos of them all. The townhomes are great! They have private cute splash pools in the back, and the main pool is really nice, and within walking distance of the townhomes.

You are about 5-7 minutes to Animal Kingdom (via sherbeth rd), and less than 15-17 to Magic Kingdom. I usually avoid getting onto I4 because of traffic, and alway take the back road.

We're in a 3bd/3ba townhouse in WH right now for about $130 per night and we love it! We have been dawn to dusk commando WDW people until this trip. Now we have our five-year old with us for his first trip, and his personality is.... um... INTENSE, shall we say? Plus we have two teenagers. We knew we'd need lots of space this time, and a separation from the bustle of WDW.

We're renting from mickeymousehouseoffun.com and we love how homelike this is. It's comfortable and VERY quiet. We feel very safe with the security at the complex. The splash pool is perfect for a dip (though the clubhouse is a block away). Our little one even found tons of toys and books in his room to keep him occupied.

You do lose a bit of that Disney immersion, but we're relaxing a lot more too! We spent the morning at IoA to check out WWoHP and right now I'm typing from our room with DH napping and me sipping what's left of my butterbeer

We're headed to Epcot tonight to stroll and catch dinner, and maybe see Illuminations. VERY easy access to the parks!

We have booked a 3bedroom condo for a month starting mid dec. 2500.00 total price. Booked through homeaway.com, and I read lots of reviews before I booked. I have emailed owner several questions and response has been great. I'd check them out, and feel very good about choice we made.

We just got back from a 6 night stay in Windsor Hills and we loved it! The complex is lovely - the grounds are well-kept and the pool area is beautiful! We were able to rent a 3bd 2 ba condo for about $500.00 for the week. We dealt with a private owner but his unit was managed by HAPI rentals. They were easy to deal with. The condo was just as the pictures showed on their website and it was great to have all that room. After all day together at the parks the kids loved having their "own" bedrooms to relax in at night. The location was convenient and easy to get to the theme parks, shopping, and dining. We would definitely stay there again

We love, love, love Windsor Hills! We've stayed there several time and have never had a problem. We've gone through both All Star Vacation Homes and private owners on VRBO. It's great to have space for everyone to relax after a long day. Last vaca, DS even asked if we can build in more down time for him to relax at the rental.
