Windsor Hills Resort

At first I thought "She might be being a bit picky" but then I thought about our recent property rental and how I would have felt after our long, tiring drive, to arrive and not have towels ready and waiting. The gatehouse called the owner we rented from when we arrived, and he called us then to make sure all was well. I, too, am curious who you rented from.
 
Windsor Hills was close enough to return to for a mid-afternoon rest from the parks.The resort has everything you could need...MY kids couldnt wait to get back from the theme park because there was so much to do.
 
We've stayed at Windsor Hills twice so far - both times we rented a condo from vacationcentralflorida.com. We had a very good experience both times. That said, I just priced out a condo from them and their current prices are substantially higher now. The same condo we rented last June for about $640 (incl cleaning fee and tax) would now be almost $1000. They've raised both their rental rates and cleaning fees and have added a "processing fee." Nice as their condos were, if we're going to spend that much we'll go the extra mile and just rent a pool home.

I noticed for 2011 they had "peak holiday prices" for every week. I emailed them about it and am getting the same rate they charged this year for next October.

The prices also drop considerably as you actually get closer to your date.
 

I am getting ready to book for Dec 11-18 and am interested in knowing who it was that had the towels in the dryer? thanks!
 
In all fairness, I need to send the owner an email about this to see what he says about his management company. The wireless internet only worked in the Downstairs bedroom. I'll send u a PM with his response.
 
We rented from magicalvacationhomes and we were very happy with our condo. It looked EXACTLY as the pictures on the internet. It was very clean and well stocked.

That's good to know as we booked with them to stay next Wednesday for 10 nights...we are so looking forward to our first trip to Florida and WDW!

We also rented a condo from magicalvacationhomes.com for our trip last month and we were very pleased. Clean, new and nicely decorated. 1400 sq ft, 3BR/2Ba, full kitchen, separate living room, full washer/dryer, screened deck, wireless internet, free phone, TV in every room and a pool view for about $110/nite (including taxes and all fees). Easy 10 minute drive to any of the WDW parks. And yes, it looked just like the pictures on their website.
 
I was able to get a very nice condo at WH for a really good price. My advice is to check out vrbo.com and do a search for windsor hills. Then compare pricing. There are some really good deals to be had. But be sure to do your due diligence. I not only checked reviews, but I even looked up tax and sale records to make sure they were current and matched up with the info the owner gave me.
 
We checked in to a WH townhouse this afternoon to find a note saying that towels were in the dryer; if they aren't all the way dry, to just turn the dryer on again!

So after a 11 hr drive, not only do I have to unpack, but I had to fold the towels and stock each bathroom! I thought this was the mgt. company's job.

Also the wireless Internet doesn't work upstairs. The router is in the downstairs bedroom & the coverage is spotty downstairs.

The management office was closed after 5 pm, so I couldn't call. Should I let the owner know, or am I being "nit picky"?

Me, I'm not sure I would bother. I might let them know after my stay just as an FYI but I'm not even sure about that.

We have wireless Internet in our home (2 floors, 1800 sq ft) and we moved our router to the upstairs office. Now I sometimes have trouble getting a signal downstairs. Going through a floor actually does make a difference.

As for the towels, you don't know what the circumstances were that day. What if the people who rented just before you were real slobs and the housekeeper spent a half hour just locating all the towels, or had to wash them multiple times?
 
I feel your frustration with the travelling, for sure. But I don't think it was all that bad. Think of just how much worse it really could have been. Sometimes you just have to take a step back and laugh. :banana: Enjoy your vacation and don't let anything ruin it. On the bright side, the towels were actually cleaned! :) Also, wireless internet can be fickle, but definitely notify the company and let them know that it isn't set up properly and needs to be tweaked.
 
Id be thankful they changed the towels rather than left me guessing if they were clean or not :rotfl:
