We always stay on-site but this year we will be spending only one day at MK (using GAD) and heading to Harry Potter and Sea World. We would like to check out this resort. If you have stayed there could you give me some info on how to book this resort. We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids). Not sure if there are any 1 bedroom options for this resort.

Thanks.

Each condo, townhome, or home is individually owned in Windsor Hills, most also have management companies but also rent themselves. If you would like to rent through an owner, your best bet is to go on the owner sites. There is an owner site, www.windsorhillsrent.com, and another owner site, www.windsorhillsbest.com. There are also many on two very reputable sites that I would highly recommend, www.vrbo.com and www.homeaway.com. If you go on vrbo or homeaway, just go to kissimmee. On VRBO different communities will come up, look for areas west, and click on Windsor Hills. On Homeaway, put in Kissimmee, and then down the left hand side under communities, click on Windsor Hills.

There are no one bedroom condos. Condos are 2 or 3 bedroom. There are 3 bedroom townhomes with pools and pool homes with 4 to 6 bedrooms.

I hope that helps. I'm sure many will be along with specific recommendations, as it is a popular resort.

You are in the same situation as us. We always stay on site too, but this year we are also planning on Harry Potter and Seaworld.

A friend recommended Windsor Hills to me, so i have been researching Condos/Townhouses on homeaway.com (i have used them in the past)

We're planning a trip for May 2011 and looking at renting a pool home. We're most likely going to stay with Romancing the Mouse (www.romancingthemouse.com). It is run by a family that actually lives in the community (as opposed to living somewhere else and having a managment company run it). They have four houses, all very reasonably priced, and much more flexible booking guidelines. There are some definite advantages to going with them. They even have tips on what to look for when renting a house/condo. I was VERY impressed.

ETA: They also have very good reviews here on the DIS Boards!!!

Hi! There are 2 bedroom condos up to 6 bedroom homes in Windsor Hills. It is a great community. There are playgrounds for the kids, a community pool, convenience store, movie theatre, etc. there. And it is about 2 miles to the exit to the Disney parks. We think it is great for families!

We are currently saving up for our next trip to windsor Hills. Go Canadian Dollar Go :-) :worship:

This Christmas we stayed in Widnsor Hills Resort and loved it!

Have a great trip!!!

Just booked through Romancing the Mouse for June 2011 http://www.romancingthemouse.com/ Got the 4-bedroom/4-bath house. DS is glad to have his own space because he always gets stuck with GS as the "odd man out." GS can't wait for the Indiana Jones room (his hero). Going to US this trip and everyone has decided on just 3-day tickets and staying around "home" the rest of the trip because there's so much to do there. Also, liked the fact that it's all inclusive (tax, pool heat, gas grille, etc.) The price on the site is the price...no added in "extras"

We just returned from a wonderful stay at Emerald Island Resort. We had a 7 bedroom 5 1/2 bath house. It was wonderful for my family of 11.

Here is the link to the house, I would highly recommend it.

We've stayed at Windsor Hills twice so far - both times we rented a condo from vacationcentralflorida.com. We had a very good experience both times. That said, I just priced out a condo from them and their current prices are substantially higher now. The same condo we rented last June for about $640 (incl cleaning fee and tax) would now be almost $1000. They've raised both their rental rates and cleaning fees and have added a "processing fee." Nice as their condos were, if we're going to spend that much we'll go the extra mile and just rent a pool home.

I've rented from two different owners, and have had no problems. All of the owners have a management company that is available 24/7 to handle any issues. Our family's favorite owner is mickeyscondo.com She has 3 condos and villa. She works to take care of her guest!!

We checked in to a WH townhouse this afternoon to find a note saying that towels were in the dryer; if they aren't all the way dry, to just turn the dryer on again!

So after a 11 hr drive, not only do I have to unpack, but I had to fold the towels and stock each bathroom! I thought this was the mgt. company's job.

Also the wireless Internet doesn't work upstairs. The router is in the downstairs bedroom & the coverage is spotty downstairs.

The management office was closed after 5 pm, so I couldn't call. Should I let the owner know, or am I being "nit picky"?

I know what you mean about sounding picky.....but you did pay for this condo/house or townhouse and I'm sure cleaning fees ...I personally would be a little peeved at having to come in and finish up the laundry because cleaning did not do their job. Yes I would politely call and let them know what has occurred. Minor...but needs to be taken care of :)....just my two cents..also a little curious to know who you hae rented from.
