Hi Everyone,

What do you make of this?

I booked a townhouse for April and have paid the deposit. I have e mailed the owner twice since Christmas to touch base and confirm that everything is ok. No response. Should I be nervous?

Well if you have the phone number I would call to get ahold of them if you don't get an answer and no return call within a week then I would be concerned and start looking for other avenues for your stay just to be safe.

Hi Kristie:)

They may still be away on holidays...especially if they are UK citizens. We're used to one or 2 week holidays, they usually vacation for extended periods. So I wouldn't worry, just yet:)

I know I try to stay away from my emails as much as I can on vacation!;)

When you sent them the deposit, did you get a reciept/confirmation of payment? Did you book through an owner direct website? Or through a managment company?

I know it's scary to see accomodations on the internet, and send so much hard saved vacation funds to someone you've never met:). Don't forget too, they have 16 weeks of other vacationing families coming up as well. Some owners manage that better than others, and I know our family likes to feel like we're the only family that this owner is dealing with;) LOL! We're a little spoiled that way:teeth:

If you'd care to pm me a little more information, I know some WH owners that may be able to provide a little more insight for you. Just let me know:)

And like F4Disneyfan said, give them a call. Renting homes requires trust on a 2 way street, and any owner will be glad to have confirmation from you that you're still interested in their home too:)

HTH!!

:sunny:
