Windsor Hills - Proof of ownership?

I've searched through many threads and apologize if this is something I missed (and would appreciate being redirected if so).

Is there any way, or anywhere, to research that could give someone looking to rent a villa in Windsor Hills confirmation that they are renting from a real owner? It's my first time doing this and I would love to make sure I'm not being scammed.

If you find one you like, most likely somone on here has stayed there. Eneter the name in thread title and you'll get replies.

But you want to act now, right?

Most individual owners have websites for their rentals, either listed in their vrbo or windsorhillsrent listings. All websites have to be registered with ICANN. You can check a website at http://whois.net This will usually give you the name, home address, phone and email of the owner.

You can also enter the person's name in the Osceola County Property Appraiser's website http://ira.property-appraiser.org/PropertySearch/

Finally, pay using a credit card or PayPal to provide payment protection. Paypal is very pro-payor with respect to any disagreement.

BTW, I have rented from 2 individuals at WH and the experience has been great.
