I have the opportunity to stay at either place but I don't know much about either of them. Any opinions? Which do you think would be easier to reach the Disney Resort?
Thanks.

Windsor Hills would be much closer to Disney than Vista Cay. Vista Cay would be much closer to Sea World and Universal than Windsor Hills.

Windsor Hills is #1 and Vista Cay is #123

With Windsor Hills you can be on Disney property in 5 minutes. Disney is big so even after you get on their land it can take another 10 minutes to get to MK, less to the other parks.
WH is much bigger than Vista Cay. If you're just staying in the condo/townhouse section you probably won't notice. The Clubhouse and pool area is in that section. Playground is in the pool home section. There are any number of restaurants on 192 within 2 or 3 minutes of WH.

Windsor hills is closer. BUt I think that Vista Cay condo's are bigger. We stayed at Vista Cay last year (went just for Universal and Sea World) and the condo was huge! From the plans I've seen of the Windsor hill condo's (going in 4 days) it seems smaller.

We enjoyed our stay at Windsor Hills sooo much. The condo was roomy enough for our family of 6 (3 BR, 2 Bath). Using the Sherberth Road shortcut it took us about 5 minutes to get to AK, and around 20 to get to the other parks. The condos have a gated entry and well lit parking. We felt very safe and comfortable there.

Both Vista Cay and Windsor Hills are built by the same builder, Pulte, and have 10,000 sq. ft. Clubhouses with similar amenities. Both have great pools, games room, exercise room, movie theater, concierge services. Windsor Hills have the dancing fountains and pool slide; Vista Cay has the computer library with computers and printers and internet services for guests to use.

Vista Cay and Windsor Hills have the sports court. Vista Cay has the lake with the landscaped walkway; Windsor Hills have the lighted tennis courts, sand volleyball court. Both have picnic areas with putting greens (in the isles at Vista Cay). Windsor Hills has the playgrounds and Castle Playground.

Windsor Hills has the on site Sundry Store. Vista Cay has the Publix, Chinese Restaurant, NYPD Pizza next door.

Location: Vista Cay is about 6 to 8 miles from Disney property, with Disney Village being the closest. Windsor Hills is about 2 miles to Disney property with Animal Kingdom being the closest.

Vista Cay is about 10 minutes from the airport, 3-4 miles from Universal, 1-1/2 miles to Sea World, Aquatica, pretty centrally located for a vacation with multiple things to do. Windsor Hills is defintely the closest to Disney if you are doing a Disney only vacation.

Vista Cay condos and townhomes are more upscale and larger (up to 2100 sq. ft.) Windsor Hills townhomes have the splash pools and screened-in lanais, whereas Vista Cay townhomes have a garage.

Both are great places to stay. If you go to www.youtube.com and type in Vista Cay or Windsor Hills videos of the amenities at each place will come up. You can also see the amenities on the owners sites, www.vistacayrent.com and www.windsorhillsrent.com.

Good luck in your decision! Have a great vacation.

SLP Mom - would you mind providing some details about this ? We are booked for Windsor Hills for July. Is the shortcut only good for AK - and does it bring you to the parking area ?

Thanks:flower3:

We just returned from WH on Monday and loved it. We stayed in a first floor condo. It was one of the further ones from the main pooll but we found the walk pretty easy even with the 4 year old.

We just had to get used to buying toilet paper, napkins, ect. It was really close to the AK, EPCOT, and Studios. Probably 6 minutes.

We did find the return drive at night to the room VERY confusing. The highway signs on how to get back onto 192 were really confusing.

Love it. How long would you estimate to MK ? With the TTC added in too ?

On Tuesday April 28th we were out the door by 8:10 and were going through the parking gates at 8:20am. We made it with 5 minutes to spare to the opening ceremony but were a bit back from the rope under the station. I think 8AM would be a better time. I like to be there earlier than later. Everything just goes quicker.

On Saturday May 1st we didnt get out of the door around 8:20 but pulled up on the Monorail during the ceremony and the rope had dropped just before we scanned our tickets.

Both times we just used 192 over to World Drive and then the monorail. For our Animal Kingdom day we used the Entry Point drive off of 192 instead of the main entrance.
