Can anyone who knows about both give me some advice..??
We are thinking about switching from on-property to off-property and we are between these two.. We will rent a car either way.

We found a great deal for a WH TH on vrbo - is BC worth the extra money? It would be about $300 more for the 9 days.. I'm fine with spending the extra money if there is an advantage to BC!

Thoughts? Advice? Thanks in advance :thumbsup2

Go for Bonnet Creek! The pools are better, the view for fireworks at the theme parks are better & the distance to the parks are much closer. I love Bonnet Creek.. I am here now..

I know.. part of me is leaning towards BC too, although we are goin to be there 12/2-12/11 so we might not even use the pools.

What is parking like at BC? My dad has MS (and a handicap sticker for the rental car) - how far will he need to walk from parking to a room at BC? What about for DH & I (no handicap sticker on our rental car)??

Thanks:)

Since you mentioned a townhouse at WH, I just wanted to let you know that each townhouse has a parking space right at the door. That would obviously be ideal as far as parking goes.

It really depends on the "vibe" you are looking for on vacation. At Windsor Hills, you're effectively staying in your very nice uncle's private townhome located in a very nice community. It has many resort-style features, but it is more community than resort---very private, very calm.

Bonnet Creek has more of a resort feel, and will be a little more "active". Bonnet also feels like it is within the "Disney Bubble". Windsor Hills is very very close to it, but you do have to see the "real world" to get back and forth. For some this is a big deal---for me, not so much.

I've stayed at---and love---both. Hard to go wrong either way.

With a handicap parking permit, it will be easier to park (I think). I know during the day, there are tons of parking spaces, but at night.... that is a different story. I am in bldg 5 & there is a parking garage there. I had to park on the second floor of that garage the other night.. that was at 10:30pm. There weren't any spaces that were opened anywhere near my bldg. I even looked at the bldgs on each side of me. I hate garages. I would say if you could not find a spot close enough, even with the handicapped permit, you can always drop your family off in the front & you park the car. That is basically what I have done. Then during the day, I move the car closer for when we leave at night...

Can you give me a rough idea of how far you have to walk, in general?? I have no concept sicne I've never stayed at BC..

For Bonnett Creek, The easiest thing to do is show you a picture.

Google Maps of the Resort

The Entrance to each building is next to the "loop" you see about dead center of the towers.

Handicap parking is normally pretty close as well, but I can't point out for certain the handicap parking for each tower.

Worst case, you can literally drop your father off at the front door of the building, and then swing around to park the car.

Walking within the building, if that's an issue (don't know if he has a wheelchair or not), elevators are located centrally within the buildings with the rooms out the 2 wings. I don't know if you have requested a handicap accessible room, or if they traditionally place them within a certain section of the towers.

ama223....Wow! I can't believe you posted this thread....it's like you read my mind! ;) We are in the exact situation...only it's my DD who is in a wheelchair! We are deciding to stay off site this year for several reasons...but mainly I'm just not willing to pay Disney's prices this year. :rolleyes1 I'm am trying to decide between these two particular resorts. Thanks for posting and thanks to all the responders!

The pool situation depends on what you're looking for. Most condos and single family homes at Windsor Hills have either private splash pools attached to the unit or private full size pools attached to the unit. Plus the pool at the clubhouse, which is nice. I personally would rather have my own little private pool so we pick WH over BC. And as far as distance away goes, it's not that far away. I can literally be in the AK parking lot in 10 minutes leaving from WH. A little longer to get to the others, but not much longer than when we stayed at BC. The big difference is that your experience varies a little at WH based on who you rent from. At BC it's all pretty much the same. I don't think you can go wrong at either place.

Just to clarify what the previous poster said, it's the WH townhouses that have the splash pools not the condos. And we really liked having our own private pool also. It was great for later in the evening when you didn't want to bother to get things together to go to the main pool. :thumbsup2 Parking by your door is a plus also.
I timed it to AK parking lot and it only took us 7 min.

We were at WH last week. The community pool is very nice with a water slide, club house with a small movie theater inside of it. As we were there in Sept, it was not very crowded. It was a nice quiet vacation. We never heard a peep from any neighbors (maybe we were the only ones in the building :rotfl:).

We might try Bonnet Creek just to change things up a bit as a PP stated that staying at WH is like being at a relatives house vs. being at a resort. There is nothing wrong with that though :)
