Windsor Hills clubhouse area Internet

Sitting out by the WH clubhouse pool with my iPhone, my Internet goes from 3G, to Edge, to a "circle/donut" to "searching" - no network all in the course of 5 minutes! What's the deal? I don't think I should have to pay the clubhouse for Internet... The kids are swimming and I just want to check emails

I understand you can access the wireless internet in the lobby area outside the Clubhouse not sure about around the pool?

go back into the lobby.........or maybe it's AT&T......or the Iphone 4.......but, go back into the lobby

My WH Townhouse wireless connection is horrible too! The router is in the downstairs bedroom and you pretty much can only get Internet in THAT room! Internet in the living room is spotty & non-existent upstairs!

Checking email and checking the disboards are not easy in our WH TH; not too happy for $120/night!

Either bad wall construction material or a faulty modem. Didn't have this issue 3 yrs ago when stayed in a different WH TH.

Sounds like the modem? Did you try calling the owner and letting them know, perhaps they can call the cable company to check it out. They may not be aware of it.

Yes, it is wise to let the owner know. The splitting in the attic probably should have a dedicated line to the internet modem and they need to call the cable company. That is what we had to do to resolve poor internet connectivity.

If the connection is good in one room, but poor elsewhere, I'm guessing that the issue is channel interference by other nearby homes with wifi devices set to conflicting channels, and not a problem with the cable.

There's not much you can do about that in a dense deployment with a base station in the 2.4GHz range; there are only three non-overlapping channels, os if you can see four different networks, at least two of them have to conflict. I had the same problem in my house, and upgrading to a dual-band base station solved it (at least for now).

As for your original post: welcome to ATT. We had to buy a microcell for our house just to be able to make calls. Your iphone's cellular coverage certainly isn't Windsor Hills' fault.
