Windows: Shades, blinds?? Help!

Hope some of you cooks & crafters can offer me some advice. I just moved to Florida, and the previous owners left some really yucky blinds. Dirty, broken, bent, etc.

I think I have no choice but to replace them. In PA, I had pleated shades on most of the windows--Silhouette. I really liked them, but I'm not sure if blinds would be better in FL. I plan to replace the veritcal blinds over the sliding doors. Any suggestions there?

Sorry I'm not help but I'm responding to bump your post back up to the top.

I too have all new windows in my newly renovated house and I don't like blinds or shades but, I live in the middle of the woods and don't really need them. So, I just bought some really nice curtains at of course "TARGET"
