Windows media player help

I've been trying to install the update to player 9, but keep getting two error messages and the installation can't complete.

The ordinal 77 could not be located in the dynamic link library OLEAUT32.dll.

It comes up again, same thing, for ordinal 176.

Any ideas what to do?

I hate wmp 9 I've had no luck out of it at all, it's killed every machine I've put it on...

always the same stupid error, then blue screen, uninstall it then everythings back to normal...

It has to be the most unstable media device that microsoft has ever released

I believe Oleault32.dll refers to a Microsoft Office product.

I use the WMP that comes with Windows XP. It's good enough for what I want to do. Everything else goes through Real Player.

Switch to RealOne Player..
I have both, but use the Real Player..
