WillowValley, PA - Anyone ever been???

My dsis and her husband are treating us , to a 3 day stay at Willow Valley during Presidents week... She knew that we're saving up for our disney vacation this summer, but she wanted us to go with her and her family, so they're paying!! Anyway, what can you do there? Anything that we should or shouldn't do? Thanks!

My wife and I took a weekend away there a couple of years ago. They had a nice indoor swimming facility, great buffet, lots to eat, and there is shopping nearby. We live here so we weren't too enthused about doing anything touristy (I've seen the amish all my life). As I recall, we went in February as well and had a rather nice day. Lots of grounds for walking. I don't know if you've checked out their website so here it is.

We used to go to Willow Valley on a yearly basis - end of summer/week-end trip when our kids were much younger. If you have children - this is good for young ones (unless it is their first time here). We all enjoyed it and took day trips to Hershey, Renaissance Fare, Dutch Wonderland, Kitchen Kettle, Strasburg Train, corn maze, shopping, etc. We had no problem doing this as a family - as they got older we went with friends who had children same age. We also did an adults only week-end one year.

Willow Valley is a great/clean, family, oriented resort. There is a 9 hole golf course on site and tennis courts. It is owned by Mononites so no bar/entertainment in the eve. We used to bring/buy our own liquor/beer. You will need to drive to anything/everything - museums, restaurants, amish tours, etc. You will find most places closed on Sunday - have only been here during summer.

We love it and miss it - my older kids of course have no more interest here. My youngest (13) is always asking me when we are going - of course, she would also go if friends came along now.

If you are going to relax and spend time with family and friends - you will be fine.

It's a great resort. My ex's sister and family would go every year between Christmas and New Year's and we'd meet up and stay overnight. The buffet is really good, pools are great, too.

Hershey/Chocolate World
Thomas Auto Museum

We looked forward to it every year.

Thanks everyone, sounds like there's a lot to do. My dd's will probably just want to go in the pool area all day!! We're going mid-week so everything should be open, turns out we're meeting a group of other friends that will be there that time also - hope the weather is good and not like the blizzard that's coming here tomorrow!!!

We went a few years ago, during the summer when my girls were 5 and 9. They had activities planned through out the day for the kids to particpate, arts n crafts, ice cream social, game nights. We all had a blast and there is a lot in the area to do! Have a great time!

My husband and I go once a year or so. It is a very nice resort and good food. We used to get the room and buffet plan, but I don't remember if they still have that. We love walking on the grounds, and it is a nice central place for several half day trips, including to Lititz- Wilbur's chocolate yummmmm, Sturgis pretzels! If you go the right time of the years there is (or was) a corn maze on the grounds of the Inn. There are waterfowl you can watch or throw crumbs to. The inn also has a nice bakery.
