Williamsburg questions

We went to Colonial Williamsburg this past summer, for a week in August as well. As another poster mentioned, you can rent the costumes in the visitors center, as well as get all your maps for the week. That is also where you pick up your badges (tickets) for the week if you have purchased them online, or the day of.
My neice rented a costume (7yr), and I believe it was around $20 for the day. Along with the costume I believe she had a little route to follow?

My husband took our oldest two, both 11yrs old, on the evening candlelight ghost tour. Warning--- the stories they tell may scare your children! They are "real" stories from the past, and I had two kids come home with some stories to tell! They were the youngest of the group, most of the group were older teens. I am not sure about accessibility as I didnt attend.

Other than that we spent a couple days going thru the historic areas, and their is a map the kids can get stamped at each stop. We have 5 children ages 4,7,9,11,11. We did a lot of early day tours and exploring.

We took a couple day trips to Virginia Beach which was a great way to break up the week, it was only an hour drive. We also spent a day at Busch Gardens as we bought the bounce pass. With the "bounce pass" you get unlimited williamsburg, busch gardens, watercountry admission for the week. Busch Gardens was much hotter than our Disney in July trip. phew, that was a tough day for the kids and us. We all made the best of it, but we didnt return.

The crowds were not bad on any of our Williamburg days.

Have a nice time
