To those of you going to the Halloween Parties, are you going to dress up? If so, what/who are you going as?

I have a Maleficent costume I purchased from the Disney Store I have considered wearing, but I dont necessarily want to dress as a character in the park.
DD has expressed interest in doing something with Star Wars.

My husband says that if he reaches his goal weight by the Halloween party, he'll go as Ken from Toy Story 3. I want to go as Barbie -- blue outfit, leg warmers, and all. I don't know if it will happen, but boy, it sure would be fun!

My 8-year-old, the tomboy, as of now wants to go as Ironman. That can change at any moment, so we'll wait and see.

We are also going with my sister's family, and we've talked about a group costume....now if only the specifics of Halloween would come out, we could really start planning. :rolleyes1

I always dress up :) This year I am hoping to be a Disney princess or Minnie Mouse

Dressing up is more than half the fun, the other half is being allowed to trick or treat! How else as an adult are you not only allowed but encouraged to get candy!! We just had a superhero/cartoon party, so my hubby is going as batman {he looks awesome!} and I'm going as jessica rabbit. I got a plus sized betty boop costume, red wig, purple gloves, microphone and I have a roger rabbit that is a plush that is on the back of the dress hanging on to me.

My "malefigrunt" costume is floor length and drags the ground, so I'd be afraid of wearing holes in it, or someone stepping on it. i also have the Snow White Hag costume but you have to walk bent over for the hag's face to hide my own. Neither costume would work well on the rides.

We will be dressing up...doing a theme for the family. At this point in time it's not decided what..but my middle dd and her friend said they would like to be tweedle dee and dum so we may be going with Alice in Wonderland.

I prefer to wear a hat and a halloween t-shirt. My costumes would drag on the ground or get caught on things.

Probably not. The kids, definitely. But DH and I probably won't. Just cause he just switched jobs and money might be tight for a while.

We love dressing up for the Holloween Party.
Last year we went with a family group as Pirates...It was so fun. My DH really got into the part talking Pirate lingo all night!
The year before (2010) we went as Alice in Wonderland. It was great!
I know that we are going this year just have not decided as what..I make the costumes and start in August so better get busy!

I would post pictures but dont know how:confused3

Planning on Madam Mim provided I get the skirt sewing done on time.

My husband was a Scottish guy, my son was Jack Sparrow, and my daughter was Pocahontas. I didn't want to wear a costume, but did buy a Nightmare Before Christmas shirt, and a really cool headband in the park with orange and black streamer things with lights in it to wear.

We always do Halloween shirts. The girls used to wear dresses, but hated getting on and off attractions. You do see many adults wearing costumes at the party though...enjoy!!!

The DH wants to dress up as Ron Burgandy and have me dressed as Christina Applegate's character from Anchorman. :rotfl:

Yep! When we visit WDW and attended MNNSHP we went as Peter Pan characters, I was Tiger Lily, DD was Tink, DS was John *super cute, long mens dress shirt - shorts underneath, mickey top hot, and he always wears glasses, my mom was Mr. Smee.

Not sure yet this year, DD will probably go as Merida *I can see her wanting me to go as her mom; DS, who knows.

Our last Halloween party DD12 was a pirate, DD15 was the bride from the HM (BEST costume ever and one of the cheapest as well), DBF was Hercules, I was Meg. No one knew who I was but everyone recognized Hercules.....lol

The party before that DD12 was Maleficent and DD15 was the Evil Queen, that year DBF and I did not dress up, I was going to make us Mouseketeer shirts and get ears but I just ran out of time before we left.

I'm thinking I am going as cruella and my husband and kids will be Dalmatians.

We always dress up. That is the most fun part of the evening :thumbsup2

We have done a family of dalmations. Another year my DD was Alice and I was the Queen of Hearts while DH was a CDA agent and DS was Woody.
Then another year my kids went as football players (one USC, one UCLA) and DH and I were referees.

Then the last time we went, DH, DD and I were Mickey Road Crew and DS was a traffic cone. The traffic cone was a huge surprise in the amount of attention DS received. We had people stopping us for pictures, coming out of stores to see him, etc. The best was that he got the attention of the CMs along Main Street that pick the people to ride in the parade (so we got to be Honorary Guests in the parade). That was a huge Pixie Dust moment for our family :thumbsup2

Don't know if we're going again this year, but we wore costumes last year and it was a lot of fun. I went as a Jedi, and my friend as a pirate. We had a good laugh when we bumped into another couple of women, there with their son, who were also dressed as a Jedi and pirate!

It's funny reading from some of the posters who are worried about their costumes dragging on the ground. I wear a long cloak with my Jedi costume and the wind kept blowing it around. When walking from place to place, I had to keep it pulled around me so it didn't hit everyone we passed. At one point we were standing somewhere and a mom with stroller happened to pass behind us just as the wind blew it up. The kid in the stroller got completely tangled and it took us a second to free him. Thankfully, the mom thought it was funny, and the kid looked too shocked to be upset.

It can be as simple as a cool shirt, or go all out and dress to the nines. The most important thing is to be comfortable, as you will be trick or treating alot, and going on rides. Good shoes are also a must. Last year we dressed as a Canucks fans, and got into a good natured heckling session in a TOT line up with a fellow who had a Anaheim Ducks jersey on (our team defeated them in the play offs last year) and all of us had alot of fun with it. Just have alot of fun, and you'll get tons of candy. Just make sure you bring a backpack, with a bag inside of it. Then as the TOT bag they give you fills up, dump it into the backpack and go keep refilling it. It saves your back and you get more candy. Without trying that much the 4 of us got over 25 lbs of candy, and it's for the most part the good stuff. You'll have a blast and it's well worth the price of the party.
