Will you cancel if they don't offer free dining for Aug/Sept?

I was just wondering if those who have a reservation in hopes of free dining and they don't offer it will you cancel your trip? Just wondering....:scratchin

I've actually been wondering that too. I can just imagine Disney not offering the free dining because the rooms are full of guests already (due to speculation!)

I am planning on going either way. I have not made my reservation yet in hopes that they offer it. I had read on these boards that the less reservations they have, the more likely they are to offer the promo.

We are booked for August at the BC and will likely change to off-site if they do not offer free dining. It has just gotten too expensive without some kind of deal.

I have plane fare but no resort yet. I will not go and deal with the 3h's unless I get fd. I'll go in Dec or Jan at value.

I've heard the same that they may not offer if reservations are up. I won't cancel. Going Sept 9-22 would love free dining, but as of now I am prepared to pay for it. Total trip cost including flight will be aprox $8000 CDN. I have saved up and this will be our last trip for a long time, so gonna make it a good one!!!!

Disney offered free dining as a way of enticing people to come after a VERY BAD hurricane season in 2005.

With 2006 being much milder, I suspect that Disney might think they don't need to offer free dining in 2007. . .

Nope. I've already booked my room only ressie and have my AP in hand.

We'll still go, but will cancel the packages we have booked and will book room only AP rates. There are 5 of us that are AP holders, so don't need the one day ticket, also pretty sure there will be an AP rate too.

Of course, if US/IOA offers a good deal, we are open for that too. We have our airfare, so will be going regardless.

We might cancel a couple of our ADRs, but we won't cancel the trip. The timing of our trip has more to do with my birthday than the potential for free dining.

We haven't made reservations as of yet in hopes of Free Dining. Going to wait it out and see if it's offered. If Free Dining isn't offered then going to see if any other deals or AP's come out for the time period we're looking at. Otherwise we'll probably wait to go at another time.

We are planning to go and stay at WL. If we don't get the free DDP or a discount to save a lot on our room, then we will most likely have to switch to a mod. We definately want the DDP even if we have to pay but I'm hoping we can stick with WL.

I will NOT cancel! I would love free dining, but I also got the "code" so free dining would save me $600 which would be awesome, but I would not cancel a trip over $600 and break my ds and nephews hearts.:) :goodvibes

Haven't booked yet, but if no FD then I will go with an AP. I might book second week of October instead of last week in September. I have not made a reservation yet as Disney has gotten so expensive I will not go without a discount. No PIN codes and CM's were not willing to give 40% to me.

It not just about filling rooms. It's also about introducing the dining plan to people who might otherwise skip it, in hopes of them paying for it in subsequent visits. Also, word of mouth.

I believe it will be offered.

As someone else said I don't think they can offer the free dining...Last year was predicted to be high hurricane activity, didn't happen..They had the Bounce back program. How can you give people the same deal you gave people who booked and put money down way in advance due to free dining? I think they would have to make their committment mean something, so tweak it somehow..Discount how much people pay for DDP or give people in the Bounce back program another bonus.

Good point.

Hadn't thought of it that way.

I was one of the ones who was able to book free dining via the Bounce Back program. The CM made a point of saying Disney was shocked at the number of people who even knew about the Bounce Back program as they had purposely not promoted it that much. He said they were even more shocked at the number of people who came down there for just a one night stay in order to book the Bounce Back offer. He also said that the Bounce Back Program may have bitten Disney in the foot as they were already over their quota and free dining was supposed to be severely limited for 2007.

I had already planned to go down there for Dec, so wasn't one of the ones who made a special trip down there to book it, but if I had been and Disney later offered free dining to everyone I would definitely be upset and would let Disney know about it. It would mean those people took time off work, paid airfare, paid for a resort, and basically wasted their time and money. When we booked the Bounce Back program the CM made a point of saying the only way to get free dining for 2007 and was going to be through the UK Program or the Bounce Back Program. You know they'd be upset and there is no way anyone would trust Disney if the Bounce Back Program was offered again, which I think it will be. A few days after I returned home in Dec I received a postcard asking me to log onto a survey. The survey was mostly about how much I liked the Bounce Back Program.

Considering how many people Disney alienated with the 40% off code fiasco I seriously doubt they would want to alienate another group, no matter how small.
