At this time I would book the resort I wanted to stay at even if it is dog friendly. I love dogs though I am not sure this was the wisest move on Disney's part for all the reasons discussed over the last couple of weeks. I think we will need to wait and see how things pan out. How much barking goes on. How many "accidents' happen in the rooms. How much rule breaking there will be. If I have small children I might choose a dog free resort.

No I will not stay at one. Even if they block off certain rooms just for them.
I do not want to listen to a dog bark for hours on end. Particularly when I’m on a much needed vacation. I know some say it won’t happen but I’m a frequent visitor and I don’t think Disney does much about rule breakers. This won’t be any different IMO.

I voted that I will book if it's all that is available.
We have a family of 6, so it limits our options--and two of the options that can fit a party of 6 (AoA and Ft. Wilderness cabins) are now dog friendly.
We actually already have a reservation for a Ft. Wilderness cabin in January, booked months before this announcement was made. It's for marathon weekend and nothing else that will fit our party is available.
We are fortunate that no one in our family is allergic or afraid of dogs--we actually like dogs in general, but I just worry about barking dogs, especially because I will be going to bed very early each night so I can wake up at 3 am for the races.

I have two spoiled dogs who vacation with us to appropriate locations.

No I will not book DF hotels.

Based on response from Disney (call to me) I will likely avoid the sister resorts as well.

I have been booking offsite backup plans for all trips. (AP who goes often)

I just can't take a chance that an unattended dog will bark for long time. That's my everyday annoyance in my neighborhood. I look forward to a break when I'm at a Disney World resort.

Same here. But the crap is far more annoying to me. The other day someone left it on the steps at the bottom of my walkway. I have zero tolerance anymore after years of dealing with irresponsible dog owners. Definitely not an aggravation I want to worry about on vacation (in addition to allergies and a child who is terrified of them).

I always book at POR and am scheduled to arrive there on 10/31. I am very concerned that my favorite part of the resort will be where the dogs reside. (Alligator Bayou and the back of the resort)

Bah Humbug!!

I'm totally with you on this! I do hope you have a wonderful time. I hope you'll share some highlights when you return. POR is such a beautiful place!

Don't care. Will book where I want to book.
Actually, I have booked a Dog Friendly resort for our NYE trip. At least I think YC is one of them. Honestly, didn't check because I don't care one way or the other

I'll book the resort I want, regardless of it being dog-friendly or not.

That said, there's no way I'd bring my (very spoiled) pooch with me on vacation. I can't imagine being cooped up in an unfamiliar hotel room all day would be very much fun for him. Also, I'm on vacation so I don't want to have to worry about getting back to the room to make sure he's walked, fed, etc. My dog stays with a fabulous dog sitter when I travel so I know he's being well cared for and having fun while I'm away. It's a win for us both!
