Will you answer a question for DS school work?

I wouldn't have quit gymnastics in 6th grade.

My two favorite coaches left, and I didn't like the 2 that were left. Plus, middle school was rough. All my friends were in different classes, my teacher was the one that no one liked. Once I quit, I gained weight and that made me really self conscious and I became more introverted. Having gymnastics achievements on my application probably would have made the difference between getting into CalTech or not (I was wait-listed, so I know I was close to getting in). If that had happened, my life would be completely different than it is now. I like my life now, but I do wonder what it would be like if I had stuck with it. Or, what I think I should have done...there was another gymnastics academy in town, and I should have transferred.

I would go back in time and learn how to eat right and exercise!!!

Being VERY overweight sucks and it's not easy to do things right at this age. I should have done it from the start.

I'm not sure I'd change anything either, because then I might not have what I do now--a DH, 2 kids & 3 grandkids.

College wasn't for me & I knew it; but at the time I graduated high school you could go out to an interview, talk to someone & get hired right then & start the next day or week.

If I had continued working for the state (right out of high school) or the city (before kids were born) my retirement $$ might be better although the kids would have been in daycare & I was lucky enough to be able to stay home.

Oh, I did think of one thing--get your driver license in high school. I never thought I'd be driving so didn't bother. My youngest child was in kindergarten when I did learn to drive. Oops--1 more thing--I wouldn't have started smoking.

In these times, though, it is very important to further your education, whether or not you choose university or technical school.

Good luck, OP, to your son while he works on this project.

I am another person who would have learned to eat right and exercise at a younger age. I was thin when I was young and then gained weight as an adult. I took it off for a few years but then put it back on and then some. I lost it all again three years ago and I am managing to stay fit but now that I realize this isn't rocket science I which I had taken the time and energy to do this from the time I reached adulthood. Also, by eating so many sweets when I was young (I was always eating candy) I caused dental problems that are causing me issues now. If I had been on a health kick I am sure as a secondary benefit my teeth would have had less cavities resulting in the issues I have now.

I wish I hadn't quit Ballet after 2 years

I wish I had gotten a degree in Advertising Art instead of the Fine Arts degree I have-

But then I would not have met my husband at work;)

I don't think I would have changed anything. Yes I made mistakes (and some were biggies), but they made me the person I am today. I tell my kids all the time that it's ok to make mistakes as long as you learn something from them. And another thing I believe in, it's never too late to do something you always wanted, but never had the chance, nerve, opportunity, etc. to do.

Good Luck with your school work!!

I wish I would have spent some time living overseas and learning another language.

Now with kids, I do not want to go far from my family so this is no longer an option for me!

I would have gone away to college...probably in Boston.

I believe I missed an important part of life by living home and commuting to college.

As others mentioned, I would have made sure that I was more careful about what I ate and made sure that I exercised more. It would have been much easier to never have gained extra weight than to try to rid myself of it.

I also would have gone to law school.

As long as I could still meet my DH, the one thing I would change would be to have taken a different major and continue on to Graduate school.

I wish I would have finished college. I wish I would have kept my anger better in check when I was younger. Oh and when houses were dirt cheap I wish I would of bought two.

I got a field hockey scholarship to college in Massachusetts but never went. I wish I had gone!

Traveled more out of the country when I was young and single. I had a couple of chances to work/study overseas and I passed because I was too afraid of the unknown. I was a bit uptight then. :rolleyes1

Thank you for all of the responses! He turned in his assignment. I hope he gets an A!!!

My response was I wish I had a job right now. We can pay the mortgage and bills but most of the "fun" money is gone. I do get to stay home with both of them though so that is a blessing of sorts.
