I wouldn't have quit gymnastics in 6th grade.
My two favorite coaches left, and I didn't like the 2 that were left. Plus, middle school was rough. All my friends were in different classes, my teacher was the one that no one liked. Once I quit, I gained weight and that made me really self conscious and I became more introverted. Having gymnastics achievements on my application probably would have made the difference between getting into CalTech or not (I was wait-listed, so I know I was close to getting in). If that had happened, my life would be completely different than it is now. I like my life now, but I do wonder what it would be like if I had stuck with it. Or, what I think I should have done...there was another gymnastics academy in town, and I should have transferred.
