Will we regret not booking a Boardwalk view?

We recently returned from our first trip home to the BWV and had a Boardwalk view and loved it! We spent a lot of time on the balcony.

I am in the process of booking next year's spring break reservations which fall during Easter week so I'm booking day by day.

I am booking a standard view 2 bdrm. to save points.... It will save approximately 25 total points over the 6 nights. We would also have to borrow 6 points from 2005 to get the boardwalk view.

For those of you who have stayed in both standard and Boardwalk view, will we regret not booking the Boardwalk view?

the BW view is great - my one time I loved it - but so is staying points - especially if you have to start borrowing.

you will be a member for around 37 more years - plenty of time to try the BW view.....

just plan on during in 2005/2006

I am a fan of the Boardwalk View, but ya know... I also really enjoyed the standard views I have had there....

I dont know how many points you have... would borrowing the 6 points leave you scrambling next year? That is the biggest question... If 6 points makes no difference to next years plans... go for it. But as Spiceycat said... you do have 37 years to enjoy DVC...

yes the boardwalk view is worth the extra points and I book it when ever it is available but I would book standard in a heartbeat over preferred non boardwalk view rooms. The standard view rooms have some of the nicest views in my opinion...very restful or overlooking the front entrance where people watching is alot of fun. Not terribly noisy either.

I'm not a "view" person. Our only stay was BW View (at my husband's request - we took his mother) - and it was nice. But I wouldn't let the lack of it spoil a trip. And it had its disadvantages.

I'm also calling day by day to book BWV standard view for Easter week. I like booking standard view and s t r e t c h i n g my points as much as possible.

While a room with a great view is always a treat, maybe you can concentrate this time on how lucky you are to have a standard view so that you can save 25 valuable points. Keep that positive viewpoint, and then you will feel fortunate instead of cheated.

Sounds likely that I'll see you around the Boardwalk next year.

Our first visit we had a boardwalk view and loved it. On subsequent visits we've opted for a standard view and enjoyed these too. For next June we are planning on going back an if they have a boardwalk view available we'll grab it. If not I'd be just as happy with a standard view.
