'Ohanas? Looking at the pics here, it looks really good, but I'm wondering if its worth leaving the parks for. Leaving a park to go eat is NOT something DH likes to do, so convincing him is hard! Having said that, it looks good!!! As of right now, we have booked -

Sci-Fi
CRT
Tutto
Sanaa
Coral Reef
Narcoossee's
Chef Mickeys (breakfast)

The only reason we booked Sci-Fi is becuase its our first night, and we plan on spending that first day at DHS (kinda getting it out of the way). We should be getting to the park around 3pm that day.

Thoughs??

I think it's worth it because of all of the great food you get, especially the amazing bread pudding for dessert!! Plus, it's only a quick monorail ride over from the MK.

As previous poster said, the bread pudding is awesome! To me it was the best part of the meal and it is on the monorail so it's not hard to get there and back. The food was good but I have to say you need to go ready to eat!! It is a LOT of food! I wish we had not eaten anything that whole day prior because it almost felt like a waste. Just MHO. :hippie:

The bread pudding is AMAZING!!! We do O'hana when we are at MK. Hop on the monorail, go eat, go back. That's easy.

Just plan on going to the MK that day and take the monoral to the Poly. O'Hana's is GREAT! The food is VERY good ! You enjoy every minute of it.

We did not do Ohana's last trip, and we definitely are for our next one. It's a quick monorail ride from MK. We plan on watching the fireworks from sunset point afterwards, because that's where DH proposed to me at.

We regretted booking it. :duck: - Honestly..crazy long wait to be seated, terrible food and not great service.

Last year we did

CP
CRT
LTT
Flying Fish
Yak and Yeti
Tuskerhouse
HDDR
Akerus (sp)
Lecellier
Chef de France
SciFi
Brown Derby

and Ohana- my sons favorite meal was Ohana- it is the one meal he absolutely wants to do again. It was a lot of fun, food was great- kids got shrimp- not on many kids meals :cool1: and dessert was so good- we waited over a hour for our dinner since we were 90 minutes late for our adr and we still loved every minute of it.

Cancel Sanaa.:rotfl: DH doesn't like to leave a park to eat.
Or are you staying at Kidani and it is your relax at the resort day?

I have had bad service at OHanas too.
And the meat was way too rare (raw) for me.:headache:
I couldn't eat the meat or shrimp at all.
So I haven't been back in years, and haven't missed it at all.

But it is really fun for the Kiddos, if you have some.
And serious rare meat eaters really like it.
(You know how those big carnivores are.):rolleyes1

Will you regret it?
No, just eat there next trip.
You have some lovely reservations set up for this one.
Enjoy your trip.

You won't regret not going unless you've been there before and loved it...We went last year for the first time and it was great..and I agree with the others the bread pudding was wonderful. We did have to wait for our table, but the service and food were excellent.

This year I couldn't get a reservation (unless I wanted to eat at 9:45pm) even at the 180 day mark! It is an easy monorail ride from MK...and if you can convince your husband it's worth a try then go for it...but don't be disappointed if you can't get a ressie and make sure you have a back up.

I'm still checking online to see if a ressie opens up, but already have ADRs for all my meals...

I too regreted going. I thought the food was terrible, the meat was dry, the shrimp was mushy, we didn't get seated in the main room (I didn't know to ask). And, the bread pudding at Boma was better. Keep your reservations.

We are eating at Ohana twice in June.... my DH is SO happy. :goodvibes

We will definitely be eating there every trip!

In my opinion, Ohana's is DELICIOUS! I would book there if you can get it! It's very easy to get there from MK! I would do it! It's a must do on my next trip :thumbsup2

Over the years, I've done "Ohana" three times... actually four, but one time they "had a booking problem" and we were told that we would have had to wait over an hour, so they called "Kona" for us and got us in there (props for them to do that for us ! :thumbsup2 ).... The atmosphere is great, and the "show" is nice... but I have never had what I would call "good food". I absolutely agree with PP quoted above.

We would not go to Ohana if they paid us.

the first time i went, it was just okay for me. the second time i went, it was delicious. i think if you can get a ressie you should take it.

i get to eat there thursday night

It is definitely not the best food on property, but it's fun and different. You can watch the fireworks from there and get a break from the crowds, then head back to MK after. Taking the resort boat to and from MK is a little quicker than monorail, I think. We are doing Ohana again on this trip, but we have a room at Poly so if they are running really late my husband and son can head back to the room. The meat was okay (according to my family) - they didn't love it - but everyone loved the vegetarian items that my son and I received! I am looking forward to going again this trip. I had a hard time getting a reservation and was kind of disappointed that we weren't going to be able to go. Looks like someone had to cancel, though, so we are happy about going back.

We loved Ohana. It was one of our favorite meals. On a scale of 10, comparing to our other Disney experiences, I would give the food a 8 and the atmosphere a 9. We enjoyed the variety and the food was really good in my opinion. The appetizers were yummy and the noodles fabulous. By the time the meat came out, I was full! My DH and dad like their steak Rare, so the medium to medium well wasn't cutting it for them, so we asked our server for some done Rare, and they obliged, with no problem. I would just caution you to put any special orders in to your server early in the meal (chicken nuggets for the kids, steak done a different temp) to get the timing right. We came from the Magic Kingdom and then went right back to the park after our ADR for evening EMH. It did not take us long at all. Definitely not as convenient as eating in the park, but still do-able.
